Three years, that's how long I've been driving past the giant billboards for Lane Southern Orchards on I-75 telling myself "one day we should stop there." Well, this past Saturday my husband and I finally did. The entire property felt like a scene straight out of a Southern postcard. Families were out picking strawberries in the patch, people were relaxing in rocking chairs on the porch with ice cream cones, the café was buzzing, and the roadside market was full of shoppers loading up on goodies. The place was busy but somehow still relaxing. We started in the roadside market where I immediately grabbed one of the little carts because self-control clearly wasn't part of the plan. I stocked up on fresh produce, preserves, ciders, wines, and somehow convinced myself I "needed" adorable wooden earrings from a local artisan. We sampled a few local wines and naturally left with several bottles. The market also has gifts, souvenirs, and and entire section dedicated to dogs/ furry pets. After shopping we headed next door to the café for dessert. They offer cobblers, cakes, pies, homemade ice cream, and enough sweet treats to make you abandon every diet plan you've ever created. My husband is a peach cobbler enthusiast, so ordering their famous peach cobbler was mandatory. According to him, it absolutely lived up to the hype. I went with the peach pound cake and it was moist, buttery, and delicious. Their breakfast and lunch menu also looked really good. If I were road-tripping through the area, this would absolutely be a stop for a meal. It's also definitely going on my list of places to take guests when they come visit Middle Georgia. What really tied everything together was the staff. Everyone we encountered was warm, welcoming, and full of genuine Southern hospitality. If you're in the area or passing through on the interstate, this should be a stop for you. They have a great selection of canned goods and pecan treats. The prices are reasonable. Earlier in the year a friend stopped in and bought a bushel of fresh peaches for me, which I canned. You can't beat Georgia peaches! The store is large, clean, and fully stocked shelves. Very helpful and friendly employees. There's also a restaurant, which was very busy at lunchtime on Sunday. read more

Store was massive and so were the rolling orchards leading up to and way from the massive peach welcoming you to the storefront! The selection was HUGE and it's guaranteed you will find more than you need or are looking for haha for example we found really nice sheriffs badges for the kids when we wanted peach jam! Haha from wine to candy even to dog toys they have you covered! The place was clean including the rest rooms. However, they lost stars due to staff. I wasn't given a friendly welcome by the greeter he kind of just stared at me and my kids when I smiled and said hello. Another was extremely helpful when I asked where the rest rooms were but when I returned found him chatting with another female employee and the greeter who openly and loudly said "here they come" when we were walking out of the hallway followed by a laugh from the female who turned her back on us. While I was checking out one employee was running around the checkout counter frantically waving a fly swatter around me and other patrons (he certainly wasn't a kid so no "he's just a nitwit kid" age appropriate excuse) then the bag boy (separate young man who was the only teenager in this whole experience) accused me of snatching the bags out of his hands which was incredibly uncalled for and simply not true. It stopped me in my tracks I said "oh I'm sorry I didn't realize or mean to I just was picking up my bags and gathering my kids" and he snapped back "whatever" rolled his eyes and shook his head. The cashier I had no problems with and was joking around with just prior so his attitude was highly unexpected and jarring. Unfortunately the employees left a very sour taste in my mouth and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable being there. I wish I could say I would go back because the store was so cute and there was so many fun things I would like to try but based off how I was treated and I hate leaving less than positive reviews but honestly I would not return. read more

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. I enjoyed this place! it reminded me of the apple bard in Gatlinburg TN. Such a cool little place, has all kinds of things to bring home, sweet treats and more. I love their merch and their preserves. What a treat to find this place! Love how the have a restaurant & you can also take a tour of the factory if they are open. So many different items to get & some many different types of peaches, & pecans. From sauces to mixes & chopped to smoke pecans. You can't go wrong! No fresh peaches when we were there as they are not in season but did the jarred which are absolutely delicious! They are on the sweeter side as they are in syrup. Staff was super friendly. Playground my daughter absolutely loved even though it is a basic & simple one. You can bring your dog into the store just not into the restaurant area. Rating 5 stars purely for the peach ice cream -- I miss it so much and hope to be in the area again soon just so I can try it one more time. I stopped by Lane Southern Orchards on a drive after seeing multiple large billboards. It's located 5 minutes west of I-75, so not too out of the way for a stop. There's a cute indoor market which sells produce, baked goods, and condiments, and there's a café which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. There's even a small area where you can view the workers in an assembly line packing peaches. But I was reallyyyy intrigued by the ice cream. I loveeeee peaches but I'm not the biggest fan of peach desserts/treats because the peach flavor often tastes artificial and syrupy to me. Fortunately, this is not the case with the peach ice cream here! It's soft-serve style with a fresh peach flavor and such a light and refreshing texture. I ordered a small cup for $3 and it was plenty for me. This was probably one of my top 5 ice cream experiences I've ever had. Food was okay taste and quite overpriced but the service was mediocre. The cashier forgot an item and took forever for the food to be ready at the pickup window. When the pager finally buzzed ,the food had been sitting for long enough for flies to be swarming around , the tray beside had flies all over the uncovered food. Then once the forgotten item was ordered a second time I stood at the pickup window for 10 minutes to make sure not to have flies all over it. I decided to sit down and the second I go sit down the pager buzzes so then I go back up to pickup window and nothing at all for 8 more minutes to be ignored by all of the employees then finally after the employee argued about proof of purchase besides holding the pager and 10 more minutes I finally get it. This was the worst service I've ever had. The food was fine but the wait time was horrible.every time they didn't know whose food was what they would tell you to grab what you had on the different trays. And not to mention the flies that were in that restaurant, there was enough to feed an army. If there's that many flies in the cafeteria HOW MANY ARE IN THE KITCHEN. The restaurant felt like a clutter and a mess and just chaotic overall. If you're looking for a "quick" bite to eat or even get what you ordered DO NOT come here. We always stop here on our way back from Florida. You can't go wrong. Huge orchards you drive through to get there. Then you can buy those amazing Georgia peaches in large amounts. Some things chance some things stay the same. I will say the food quality in the cafe has gone down they used to offer more including a tomato basil soup I really missed. Now they just have burgers and tenders I had the chicken salad on croissant combo fries were scarce on my plate and just okay. Service was three stars, friendly always answered any questions I may had if I had a question about a food item or drink item they had for sale. Such an amazing road trip stop if you're ever on I-75 heading to or from Atlanta. The fact they let dogs inside is everything. They changed the peach cobbler. It is not a cobbler any more. It's like a thick cake with some peach bits. It was previously my reason for stopping while driving from Florida. 6-10-24 I was heading to Alabama from South Carolina and passed this place. Since my trip literally was everything off the beaten track I stopped here to see what they had. Once inside it was amazing everything you can imagine made with peaches. Including I bought fresh peaches, tomatoes and corn to bring to my friend. The store is immaculate and definitely makes you want to buy everything. The associates are so helpful and got me a bag to put my corn in. I also got a pecan pie and peach pie. Conveniently packaged in different sizes so I bought two half pies. At the register they had a pecan roll with white divinity fudge inside. I got one to eat in the car. With a Yelp check in you get a free soft serve ice cream. I did not get the offer as it was still early in the day and needed to get back on the road. Great little stop on the drive down from i-75. It's about a 5 minute drive from the highway. I loved that pets are welcome inside, makes it easier to look around. They offer so many different unique spreads, I was sad to not find the peach bourbon cardamom. The staff said it sold out quickly and nothing compares. So I just got a peach pepper spread. Be sure to check-in on Yelp, you can score a free small ice cream. Perfect to pair with the peach cobbler, I didn't think it was going to be anything special but it was hot and perfect! DO NOT GET SUCKED IN! The sad truth is this place is just a commercial retail store that claims to be a farm stand. It's not. If you are truly looking for a GA peach or pecan stand - keep driving. There are plenty to choose from. I felt chaos from the time we walked in and it wasn't from customers. A lot of young kids working and goofing around through out the store and cafe. We stood in a 3 person line to order at the cafe, and while they had 5 kids working really only 1 was truly trying to work and be helpful. Then it took forever to get our food. A grilled cheese and hamburger/fries. The five cheese grilled cheese was $8.99...it was the size of a grilled cheese you'd make at home. Flavorless. The only good thing was the sourdough bread it was grilled on. The hamburger wasn't bad but I'd bet it was a frozen patty. The fries were lifeless. We got key lime cake and peach pies out of the case. Key lime care - dry and flavorless. Only thing lime about it was color. The fried peach pie, I could count on one hand how many little pieces of peach it had in it. Pretty sure it was filled with applesauce filling and a sprinkle of peaches. Yelp offered a free ice cream for first time check in. I ordered butter pecan. It was basically vanilla ice cream. Specs of pecan at best. The grocery side of the house was really just lots of jarred jams, jellies, sauces etc. I did buy a bar of peach preserves, peach butter, peach syrup and a pecan syrup. Haven't tried them yet. Also picked up a couple bags of pecans and haven't tried them yet either. I hope they are good and fresh but after later looking at the different bags I purchased, I noticed there are no packaged or fresh by dates anywhere on any of the bags. As a baker, making sure you are baking with only the freshest ingredients is super important. I hope I didn't make a mistake buying these. 4 bags will get you for approx $14/each. That would be a bad investment if they aren't fresh. I'm sorry to leave such a gloom review as this is so rare for me but I want to help others with an honest review as compared to many of the positive reviews that I think are really just being nice because there's no way my perception is that off from others. read more

This was a fun visit! About 90-120 minutes drive from of Atlanta. Well worth the visit, and really enjoyed the real peach ice cream, peach lemonade, peach cider, peach pies and peach cobbler. Was able to pick fresh strawberries and go into the cafe and get some hot items. Many of their jams, jellies, preserves had no artificial hoopla (flavors, colors, preservatives) Ended up shipping a lot home cause the jars too are big for a carry-on with TSA. Embarrassed to say, I have no idea where it is, only it is literally in Peach/pecan country near Reynold's Ga (appropos). It is a family owned farm situated amongst many acreas of their scrumptious gold. Staff in the store was very helpful and affable, with DJ getting a shoutout for being an All-star. They have ample shop space offering Lane merchandise, educational tidbits, and FOOD! The food is the attraction and they have all kinds of iterations of peaches/ pecans. I was treated to the following: peach cobbler, peach praline, peach bread, and a peach shake. To say I was on peach overload would be an understatement. I stopped by Lane Orchards on my way back from Savannah to Atlanta (a little out the way but I was really craving peach ice cream!). I had lunch there including a turkey burger. Honestly, I was expecting just a frozen patty warmed up/grilled but the patties were actually well-made and tasted really juicy and fresh. I also really liked how crispy the fries that came with my meal were. My boyfriend's pork chops were also made super thin and cooked well. Absolutely delicious.
