It has been a little over a year since I first learned about Krave Eatery & Dessert Shop through TikTok, which prompted me to travel over two hours to visit this viral restaurant sensation. Since my initial experience, I have returned on three additional occasions, sampling as many menu items as possible, since I never know when I might next be able to return. Krave is operated by a family team consisting of a father, mother, daughter, and son, who clearly put their Christian values on full display as they demonstrate exceptional hospitality and professionalism in all aspects of their business (including a score of 100 on their recent Food & Services Inspection Report). During my first visit, their genuine friendliness and warmth was notable. Afterwards, I discovered that Khaira, the daughter, serves as a youth and young adults pastor, while her father, David, is the senior pastor at their church-which aligns with the attentive service provided. During my initial trip, I was unaware of the restaurant's significant popularity; despite arriving an hour and a half after opening, I waited in line for 45 minutes and barely obtained one of the last available plates. Learning from this, I arrived earlier on my subsequent visits, twice being the first in line ;-) KRAVE EATERY operates primarily on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with occasional Friday "pop-up" events. It is advisable to check their Facebook page for specific Friday openings, as each day features a distinct menu. To date, I have not attended on a Wednesday but did manage to visit on a Friday. While I did not prefer the smothered pork chops or barbecue chicken wings on separate occasions, the other dishes were consistently well-prepared, generous in portion size, and reasonably priced. Having experienced a wide variety of southern cuisine, I can confidently say that Krave's oxtails, and turkey wings rank among my top five favorites, and the mac & cheese, dressing and sweet potato soufflé are high on my list as well. Words cannot describe how heavenly good the food was. I cannot stress enough - THE FOOD IS AMAZING. All the staff were happy to be there. Everybody was smiling. The food on display looked tantalizing as heck, all fresh and incredible smelling. Staff were very pleasant to talk to and explained their rotating small menu in a friendly, concise, and informative manner. Went out to eat in my truck and omg the food was in the top 5 meals I've ever had in my life. The ingredients were of high quality. Flavors were rich and powerful. Everything seasoned to perfection. All the textures were on point. I hope they don't change anything anytime soon because this has got to be in the top 2 best restaurants I've ever been to. 10/10 would recommend. I was recommended this place by a friend, so I wanted to check it out. I love visiting new businesses and especially with soul food and dessert offerings. The location is easy to find and there were lots of spots to park. The restaurant interior is nice. They have a small seating area, but I got my order to go. I visited on a Thursday so there was a set menu of foods available until sold out. With that said, it was a long line to order. They didn't have the turkey legs so I tried the lemon pepper hens with dressing, collard greens and sweet potato soufflé. It was just ok. The hens were seasoned well but dry, the dressing was good and the sweet potatoes were standard fare. The greens were a bit disappointing with lack of flavor. I also tried their banana pudding. It was yummy, however there were no bananas in it so I feel like it was more a tasty parfait. Overall I give it 6/10. Was expecting a bit more flavor-wise and the no-banana pudding. read more

Kept seeing it pop up in my Facebook feed so I decided to try it out. Ample parking for the location. The workers are extremely nice and friendly. The service is really, really slow. I don't know if I went on a popular day or what but I had to wait in line over 1 hour. Tried to call in my order but was told they didn't do that. Decent seating inside. I ordered 2 plates to try the food out. I got the oxtails with Mac n cheese and collard greens and then the turkey wings with cabbage, cornbread stuffing and sweet potato souffle. I got the banana pudding dessert too. For the price you pay ($16 for turkey wing plate and $22 for the oxtail plate) I expected better tasting food. They provide generous portions though. Being that I'm Jamaican, the oxtails were subpar to me - no spice or flavor. Tasted more like beef stew than oxtails. I didn't care for the sweet potato souffle either - thick texture and it had nuts in it. Otherwise the other items were ok. Nothing I was crazy about. The stuffing was the best item to me. And the banana pudding. It was really good. If you do plan to go - I would recommend calling or checking their FB page first because the days of operation may vary and they seem to be open limited hours (around lunch time).
