Shrimp was perfect and cooked to perfection! Candid yams were also really good. Perch was fresh just not cooked good. Maybe I should have asked for it fried hard, it was soggy and falling apart. The macaroni and cheese was runny and lacked flavor. Looked nothing like the pictures I saw. It was the worst of everything we had. We didn't even eat it. If I decide to go back it will because of the shrimp only. I mean it is "shrimp house".

Really great food! We came here on Juneteenth after leaving a celebration. We did have a…read morereservation and I highly recommend you make one. The wait wasn't too bad even though the restaurant was packed and every table was filled. I ordered the Fried chicken with collard greens and Mac n cheese. The fried chicken was exquisite. It tasted like it had been brined for 24-hours so definitely appreciated that. The collard greens had some vinegar on it and it was sooo good! The Mac n cheese was good as well but it was probably the weaker item of the other food on the plate. The biscuit was good and flaky and tasted even better with the strawberry butter. The oxtails with the red beans and rice was good, but the fried chicken was better. The bread pudding was good but different. I'm used to bread pudding being served hot with vanilla or butter pecan ice cream sitting on top of it. Their bread pudding was served cold with a whipped substance on top. It was okay, but I wouldn't have gotten it if I knew they served it cold. Would've been much better heated up.

Our party split the bill into two checks based on what each group ordered, and our portion for five people came to more than $230, including the automatic 20% gratuity. The food itself was just okay. Some dishes were enjoyable, but overall it didn't live up to the hype or the price point. Unfortunately, the service and billing experience left a sour taste. When it came time to pay, we weren't initially shown the itemized check and were simply quoted a total. After leaving and reviewing the receipt more closely, it appears we may have been charged for an extra entrée that didn't belong on our portion of the bill. We're following up with the restaurant to clarify the charges, but it was disappointing to discover this only after the fact. The ending of the meal was also uncomfortable because our waitress mentioned that she doesn't receive much of the automatic 20% large-party gratuity because it's shared with support staff. Since a gratuity had already been added to the bill, the comment felt like subtle pressure to leave an additional tip. Mistakes happen, and we're happy to update this review if the billing issue is resolved. However, between the so-so food, the uncomfortable conversation about tipping, and the possible overcharge, this wasn't the experience we were expecting.

The interior does look nice, they updated it a lot but still kept some of the wood features from before, which I liked. That said, the service and overall customer experience definitely needs improvement. We stood in the lobby for quite a while with no clear direction. It wasn't obvious whether we were supposed to wait somewhere specific or if a hostess was coming, so there was a lot of confusion until someone finally let us know there was a wait. Once we were seated, it also took a long time for our waitress to come over. By the time she did, we'd already had plenty of time to look over the menu and knew exactly what we wanted. When I asked a few questions while placing my order, she seemed a bit irritated, which didn't feel very welcoming. As for the food, everything on the menu felt overpriced for the quality and portion sizes. We ordered a variety of items to try different things. The cinnamon sweet potato pancakes were definitely the standout, they were really good. The grits bowl was good, However, the biscuits and gravy were disappointing. It was just one biscuit for $6, no meat at all, and the gravy tasted a bit off. Overall, the pricing for breakfast felt steep, and I was honestly a little taken aback by it. The mimosas were delicious, but again, not quite worth the price point for me. Nothing I had really stood out enough to make me feel like I have to come back for it, which was disappointing because I wanted to love this place. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, so I might give it another try to see what the hype is about, but as of now, it was just okay. Solid three stars.

The fried catfish, yams, greens, fried chicken, dark maple hot wings and anything that hit the table was exceptionally tasty. With classic tastes like grandma used to make, but with that extra touch of love. Inside the dining area was super clean and upbeat. Gorgeous artwork and a speakeasy type vibe. Met chef Aisha and she was wonderfully sweet. So were Miss Lisa and Brandy. Huge shout out to brandy as she was the mixologist. That Mr Bowie was the best!

First, the restaurant is up two flights of steps and there is no elevator. I injured my knee and walked up the stairs. Second, when I was seated and shown the menu, I was shocked at the very limited options. They only offer white- meat chicken, no rice or plain sides. I was going to try the greens but the server said they put vinegar on them which I don't care for. The Brussels sprouts with corn is a hard pass. I had no other choice but ordered something that I would never put together as a meal: fried catfish, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts with corn. The fish was fried hard and needed seasoning and the sprouts were forgettable. They brought out hot sauce on the side assuming all people want hot/ spicy food. I wanted tartar sauce and they didn't have a traditional sauce- they had a " Cajun- style sauce." My friend had a crab cake for $25. When I called about parking, the hostess mentioned the cash lot behind the restaurant and.a parking structure across the street. She didn't mention that it was extremely expensive, I paid $24.49 for 1 hour and 6 minutes in the structure. Oh, I almost forgot that they added a 20% gratuity automatically for a party of 2! So, overall, my catfish dinner, 1 crab cake appetizer, and $2 up charge for the Brussels brought my bill to $74. Plus, the $24.49 for parking was a $100 night with no liquor only to have to leave and go eat elsewhere as what I wasted money on left me hungry and unsatisfied for sure.

I'd go back for another one right now but will definitely be returning to this restaurant for that sandwich next time I'm in Detroit.

There is plenty street parking and I saw a sign that they validate parking (a plus for downtown). To note There is a Happy Hour! On arrival all staff are pretty attentive, there wasn't a wait to be greeted and seated by The Eagle team. The food is advertised as all Natural and I must say it was! Food came out pretty quick, nice and hot and crispy chicken that is lightly breaded. Both of my visits were top-notch. The ambiance is a modern beer/food restaurant. The group I was with we tried the 'snack' Burnt ends (B+), combo meal -3 piece drums and 3 piece dark (A+), Fried Chicken BLTsandwhich (A++)-- as mentioned the chicken was outstanding, the sandwich was shared for 2, the bread had a nice crisp too. I must say the prices and portions are very reasonable! Needless to say, highly recommend and I will return soon :)
