We did the classics combo. The food was cold and this is not a Military friendly location. The wait staff didn't bring any refills. Brisket was tasty

Great place, great atmosphere and great food! Both tried the 3 meat sampler and were not disappointed. Great selection of sauces to go with the BBQ!

Not bad, but also not great...I like the fact that they offer a wide variety of meats but I didn't like the fact that they only offered combos with one side. Most people want multiple sides with a dinner. They were also pretty pricey for the serving size you get. I liked that they offer multiple BBQ sauces too. We had a large party and I understand those can be annoying and a lot of work but our waitress could've been a lot friendlier. If you're going to serve a large group, please do so with a smile and a positive attitude...Also, I have to note that I'm a big fan of candied yams but these were too sweet. I didn't think I've ever say that. I'm glad that I tried it out but my guess is I'll visit other places before returning there.

Start off by saying some of the best Brisket I have had in a while. Very moist tender and just the right amount of fat on this sandwich. The batender she said this was a very good choice and she was telling the truth. It came with the michigan chery sauce. It was ok but i like a bit of spice in my BBQ so i added the Redsmoke hot and it was a perfect combo. Also had a sweet tea to drink which was perfect. Hard to find good sweet tea these days. Will be back to try more of the menu. OH YEA can't forget about the home made chips I need the recipe..

Happened upon this establishment while visiting Detroit with family and friends and the food is very tasty! Chili was fabulous and the pulled pork very good! Great atmosphere and cocktails.

I love smoked beef brisket, however I feel as though this is something lacking big time in detroit specifically. Outside of the city we have great smoked brisket options and within the city we have amazing bbq, pork ribs, pulled pork even chicken and smoked sausage. I have looked at this place a few times and never ended up going. However today I was parked down the street after a client and it was dinner time and decided to pop in and pick up some food. I called and was unable to get through, when I walked in someone was on the line taking an order. Maybe they only have one line? Anyway, I proceeded to order at the bar. Nice looking place clean, polite staff. The prices seem on par for what you're getting. I ordered the brisket platter lean with Mac and cheese which comes on Texas bread and with a jalapeño corn muffin. I was unsure what sauce to get as I don't like extremely spicy. The bartender guided me and I did get three of the four that they had to offer but I'm unsure which is which one of them was really good. I came home to open my carry out to find a decent portion of brisket , trimmed lean as requested. And still warm! I first tasted the brisket without any sauce while I ordered lean the brisket it should not be dry especially if eating fresh . I did find the brisket to be on the dryer side as well as tougher and not melt in your mouth. Though not awful, however I'd probably not order from here again as it didn't meet the flavor and texture I was looking for. It does have a nice flavor of smoke and a nice pink edge as well. The portion was great for a platter for one with about 6 large slices of brisket folded up over the bread and a large corn muffin. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese which was very cheesy and had a nice crunch crust rolled in. I did also find the Mac and cheese lacking some flavor, however the bites with the crust were delicious. I ended up adding a little salt and pepper and that helped. The corn muffin also on the dryer side, was unable to cut clean because it crumbled. I found it to be very sweet especially on top and didn't really pick up on any flavor from the jalapeño, some salted butter may have helped. I will add the wait time was about 10-12 minutes as estimated and the place while big was decently filled for an early week day. (6pm) the bar had a few people dining and drinking and a couple larger groups. Looked like a conference from the hotel was there as well as a few people at the high tops. Overall not awful, however would not return for brisket. Though maybe for wings or something else if I was in the neighborhood. This meal total with a $4 tip came out to $27 which isn't too bad.

Came here for dinner, and this place was recommended to us. We had the fried pickles as an appetizer. We expected it to be crunchy, but the batter was so thin it was soggy instead. I mixed the memphis and redsmoke hot and it was very tasty, sweet and spicy. I got a combo of 3 meats(brisket, pulled pork and sausage), my partner had the ribs with pulled pork. The brisket was really dry. We ordered a mix of cuts with fat and lean pieces. The ones with fat were just straight up fat that were not edible. The lean pieces were dry and hard, like rubber. The pulled pork had a gamey taste to it. The sausage had really good flavor, but it was so dry and the casing was so rubbery as well. The ribs also had good flavor, but was very dry. All the meats came cold. I expected them to be freshly cut per order, but it seemed like they were pre cut beforehand. The bread that came with it was also cold and hard, the cornbread was not good either. The coleslaw tasted good and fresh. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating...but aside from the coleslaw and the sauces, this place was definitely not worth it. For the food to be this terrible, I don't understand the mandatory 15% gratuity. I say this with confusion, as I like to tip 20% and above during dinner hours... all in all, I will not be visiting here again.

Food: Five stars - Excellent Mac and cheese, brisket, and sausage. BBQ sauces have good flavor too! Really enjoyed the food! Service - ZERO STARS - The waitress we had was AWFUL! She took our order and then didn't come back until we were done eating. We repeatedly had to ask other staff for refills on drinks. She also didn't ask how the food was as my friends food was dry. She gave another friend a full Caesar salad when ordered a side Caesar salad with his meal. We also had to pay the bill with another waitress. She basically didn't do anything other than take our order which she got wrong. All of this and we were forced to pay 15% gratuity (it's automatically added to your bill). YIKES!!!

Decent food. I don't think this place is spectacular but it's decent. I think what makes it good are the variety of bbq sauces. I've been here a few times and it's typically not packed/busy. Nothing fancy, just down to earth type of place. Their wings are good & Mac and cheese is good.

    Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich

WARNING HEREIN! (Read to the end) Im reviewing as a culinary-trained/college educated hospitality veteran/foodie, Visited 1/4/25 @ 7pm to a fairly dead restaurant with only 6 tables seated for a Saturday Night (flag). Entrance area decor and layout nicely done, which sadly graduates DOWNWARD as you make your way past the bar into an uninspiring, lackluster "dining hall" vibe in the rear with nothing on the walls and ZERO EFFORT of any decor...I do mean ZERO! Staff notably kind but more occupied with congregating amongst themselves at the end of the bar in chat (some seated), as we stood at hostess stand waiting to be seated (sign posted) and congregation at bar-end continued as my water ran dry throughout the meal service. Timing from ordering to the appearance of our paper coated tin plate meal was quick, as one might expect with so few customers...still shocked for a Saturday Night. Notably, waitress was kind but failed to offer any suggestive selling offers/recommendations. FOOD: STAR OF THE SHOW were the four sauces on the table, clearly marked and each strongly flavorful in its own individual way... from sweet to vinegar based medium to spicy hot (that stayed with you and would satisfy the need of any heat lover...all excellent. Plates photographed exceptionally well, but then SURPRISINGLY and SHOCKINGLY FELL TOTALLY FLAT ON FLAVOR ON ITS FACE for a BBQ place. While its the only BBQ restaurant I ever walked into without a hint of the aroma of smoke from the Bbq (flag), such also was lacking in the food. Barely a scent or taste of any smoke on the brisket nor the Ultimate burger ordered. The brisket was medium dry, and near FLAVORLESS...truly flavorless albeit a hint of bbq which, alongside its perfect slices suggested a mechanical deli slicer (not by hand as in most places as one would imagine), suggested a bagged brisket brought in from their wholesaler presliced in a sealed package heated in a waterbath. . It did cause me to be perplexed, as it totally fell short of my expectations of any bbq place, ESPECIALLY one touting "SMOKE" in its namesake. So very sad, especially since we ordered the "fatty brisket" as recommended by our waitress. We all know brisket is the true test of any bbq establishment as well! Thankfully, yet still sadly, the sauce was able to try and rectify what the meat lacked in authentic smoke flavor and seasoning too! Coleslaw/fries were great/excellent....while my chips were shattered as if coming from the bottom of the bbq kettle chip bag, yet notably with more flavor than any meat at our table. Sorry, but true...comparingly, even Cedar Point Amusement Park's "Back Beat BBQ" could offer Redsmoke guidance on flavorful BBQ. While Redsmoke nails the sauce, the actual meat fails. WARNING: This establishments "15% GRATUITY AUTOMATICALLY ADDED TO ALL DINE-IN PURCHASES" rule printed as tiny as possible at the bottom of the menu IS UTTERLY RIDICULOUS FOR A METAL PIE PAN SERVICE BBQ JOINT! GRATUITIES ARE NOT GRATUTIES WHEN FORCED BY AN ESTABLISHMENT MANDATE! They are a FEE! Redsmoke's ridiculous "nickel and diming"game continues with their "2.6% FEE FOR ANY ELECTRONIC PAYMENT METHOD! The BOTTOM-LINE: -EXCELLENT sauce options -Great slaw and fries -So-so attitude, staff chit-chat (some even seated) at end of bar while my water ran dry a few times -Lackluster food lacking any smoke flavor more suited for a counter service venue -Back Dining area lack of any effort of ambiance -Mens bathroom faucet shocking/knowingly leaking with water on floor signs before entry and within -No table checkin by management (especially on a Saturday night) -FEE TO DEATH pricing structure (both forced gratuity mandate AND forced credit card mandate) makes the guest feel more-so at their bank!!! ALL MAKES FOR A MEDIOCRE EXPERIENCE more suited for counter service THAT HAS IT CLEAR WHILE THIS PLACE WAS SO EMPTY FOR A SATURDAY NIGHT! NEXT TIME, we will try SLOW's Bar BQ in hopes of authentic bbq without the litany of fees!

The flavor was good and it was not too spicy! The focaccia was very soft. The Napa Club had great flavor to it, but when I was eating it I could really tell that there was avocado inside of it. The predominant flavor was the garlic and herb aioli. I did feel the chicken was a touch on the dry side. Overall, my experience and food were good; however, I am not sure I agree with the rave reviews. The chips were also delicious having gone for the salt, pepper, and onion variety. A solid crunch and bursting with flavor. Among the positives I have two negatives, both of which are not adequate enough to lower their star ranking. Firstly, it took around 20-25 minutes to get our food after ordering. Tucked in the Chrysler building is the Dime Store restaurant, this is a small establishment with about 20-ish tables and bar seating. Entrance is through the Chrysler building. I must mention there is ample street or structure parking in the area. Dine Store is casual feels with BIG flavors! Plus the Staff were friendly and welcoming. At our table, we started with Chai Lattes. They offer milk alternatives-Yaay! The Chai was good sprinkled with cinnamon and steaming hot. It could have used a bit more chai, which I'm sure they would have supplied but it was good that I sipped away. To note, they do offer cocktails and beers, as not all brunch places do. We tried the Mushroom and Goat cheese Omelette and a Build your Own omelette. Our table was pleased as the omelettes may appear 'small' but don't let that fool you, they were packed with flavor. Also, the dishes were made to order. The cubed potatoes were delicious along with the Zingerman's Toast with strawberry jam. Oh yes, we also got a side of the chicken sausage and no disappointments. Everything was cooked to perfection. I must point out that the ingredients were fresh, we could taste the difference with the farm to table ingredients and the potatoes and omelettes were not greasy at all! Can't wait to visit again-recommended!

In all my years working in Detroit I finally got downtown to try this lovely spot. It's a cozy,…read morenice diner vibe that's not a a grungy, divey place yet small like one. The staff was very friendly and warm when greeting guests. Their personable nature made the visit that much more worth the walk in the heat. Since the place was pretty busy we took bar stools to avoid waiting for a table and it was a good view of the smaller kitchen area. I was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency we saw from the busy crowd and the food not taking 10 years. The food was tasty. I truly enjoyed my Korean spicy fries. Spicy in name not truly spicy to cause a burn if that makes sense. I was craving a traditional breakfast plate but the staff and my friends who are local insisted that I needed to try the Korean fries so I did both. Was it greedy of me? Absolutely. Did I care? No. The locally sourced sausage was also very tasty. I must try to find it to cook at home. My friends ordered their regular go-to meals so it was great according to them. The burger and the duck hash. I think I'll go back and try the duck hash next time for sure. And another thing, there's a particular parking garage they validate a couple hours for. So parking is not an issue in this downtown office building.
