I talked to the owner, who was very dismissive. He gave me cream that was supposed to help with healing but didn't give any instructions on how to use it. To make matters worse, he gave me the cream as if I owed him for it. I had multiple RF microneedlings before moving to Alabama. So, I know that this time was not normal. It has been over a month since then, and the discoloration and needle scars persist. I reached out to the owner for a full refund. He said they don't provide refunds but only store credit. Please tell me who, in their right mind, would want to go back to their medspa after what I have endured. Microneedling is supposed to make my face look better, not damage it. I have taken care of my skin, and they ruined it. The least they can do is own up to it and hold themselves accountable. Do not go to this spa! If something goes wrong with your procedure, you are on your own! They have no accountability!

Today I was inspired to write due to a negative encounter with an employee, but the real reason I feel the need to inform other Yelpers lies in my earliest experience. I joined the Wellness Center shortly after it first opened at the Valley Bend location because I knew I was not just out of shape, I was in poor health. I had had really good results from the health club I had joined in California in my twenties (I had studied a paperback authored by Schwarzenegger, and had actually taken a strength training class). Now I was fat and fifty. So I filled out the paperwork and showed up for the obligatory initial assessment by their "trained professional" to be sent to my MD. I expected to be pushed to my limits for a meaningful assessment, but when I protested that I had exceeded my physical limits, the "TP" insisted that I continue. Now I blame this on some perverse need to prove I wasn't any wimp, but I ignored my body's signals and continued the required number of reps. At the blessed end of this "assessment", I felt horrible, could hardly drive myself home, and for the next two months could barely move my joints without large doses of anti-inflammatories. I didn't have a gun to my head, why didn't I obey my own instincts and refuse to follow orders to continue? When I visited my MD (a few weeks later) she informed me that the TP had determined that I should NOT engage in a strength training program due to my poor health. Of course the TP's report hadn't made it to the Wellness Center's bookkeeper, as they had been extracting their monthly fee from my checking account the entire time I had been incapacitated by his "initial assessment". I took this as an excuse to ignore his recommendation and, when my joints finally stopped hurting, I started going to take workouts that I felt were appropriate. A (what?) decade later, I'm still alive, in spite of the TP's assessment. Yelp didn't exist then, so I had no meaningful way to make a complaint. Today's negative experience reminded me of the anger I had repressed and I realized I finally had a venue to warn others about HHWC practices. In the interests of full disclosure, I should reveal that my brother is a part owner of a gym in Santa Ana, CA, so I am fully cognizant of the financial realities of running a gym. You want to collect the fat old ladies' money before you scare them off and make damn sure the young, thin, beautiful people are over-represented on the floor so you can entice the old geezers' to cough up their money too. And make doubly damn sure you have your (victim, mark, etc.) sign up for automatic monthly withdrawals before they leave. If you are still considering choosing HHWC over the YWCA down the street, keep in mind that they have no reciprocity with any other gyms (fine if you never have to leave town). They don't allow you to pause the automatic monthly fee until after 60 days, even if you have a broken leg and can't return to town for four months. On the other hand, HHWC is well-maintained, well-lit, and hygienic. The clientele is uncommonly nice. So what about today's negative experience? Well let's just say that some people (Todd) shouldn't be in management when their social skills are so lacking. If he ever makes the mistake of speaking to me again I'll let him know his mother failed in teaching him manners. Being given authority doesn't excuse boorish behavior, and hey, I think I'm just perverse enough to continue inflicting my fat old carcass on his pristine gym.

Everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came.) My fabulous main therapist, Emma H., is extremely knowledgeable (holding a Doctorate in Physical Therapy). She's able to make clear why we're doing what we're doing and what it should make possible in the future. I feel both taken care of and educated. Constantly cheerful and encouraging, Emma obviously loves her job and loves working with patients. At Focus, you always have a 2nd therapist who helps run you through the exercises, and I often work with Ashton, who is also terrific: knowledgeable, diligent, and lovely. The location itself is always bustling whenever I go, but I've never had a problem finding parking, it's always very clean and well-kept, and it never feels crowded. I'm really thrilled my doctor referred me to Focus, and I'm grateful for the great experience I've had!

It's on the second floor but you have to walk to the right or left to get elevator access & there aren't any directional maps I noticed. So it's weird finding it. But it's a very private area for intake. Full bathroom attached to the massage room, so changing or going to pee first isn't awkward. Intake forms cover what you want/don't want focused on. All supplies were in the room, so a cohesive experience without the masseuse having to sneak out for hot towels or anything. Good experience. Would recommend.
