I understand the challenge as an owner but it's unacceptable to allow people to unknowingly be exposed to something that causes such gnarly health issues. I encourage you to do better.

I've had…read morememberships off and on to many different gyms over the years and this is honestly the BEST place I have ever been. I can't remember ever having this much fun getting in shape before. And so much of it is about the community here: teachers, members and truly ALL the staff. I have taken many of the classes , which are all included in the basic membership plan (except the reformer classes). Boot Camp, TRX and Work it Circuit are my top favorites for strength training and the yoga classes are among the best I've ever taken (vinyasa flow, slow flow and restorative). They have a variety of classes for different levels of fitness and goals. The mat Pilates classes are excellent too and if I need a rest from weights I will often take one of these classes. I also started personal training with Jenn Fuji about a year and a half ago. I was having issues with my shoulder that wasn't fully recovering from an injury. She helped me rehabilitate and rebuild my strength back in that shoulder and I am now free of pain and have nearly 100% of my mobility restored. She is incredibly knowledgeable and encourages me to push just beyond my comfort zone and I have gained so much strength, stamina and self confidence. And we have fun too!!! Another aspect that I really appreciate is that they are always adding new classes to spice things up- sometimes they're pop ups for a limited time and sometimes they stay in rotation. But I love that things never stay static and boring. There is truly something for everyone, so give it a try! If not now, when?

From the moment I walk through the door, it feels less like a fitness club and more like walking into my favorite place where everybody knows your name. The staff is absolutely incredible it feels like a real-life Norm from Cheers experience, lol, where you're welcomed warmly every single visit. The sense of community here is unmatched. It is a truly safe and welcoming environment for absolutely everyone, regardless of fitness level. The instructors are fantastic, knowledgeable, motivating; and they really take the time to ensure your form is correct while pushing you to your potential. I'm constantly impressed by the variety of classes offered. Whether I'm in the mood for high-intensity, strength, or something more restorative, they have it all. Plus, the clientele is wonderful so encouraging and friendly, which makes working out fun rather than a chore. I went to the gym in the early afternoon and told an employee that I would like to buy a day pass. He simply told me he was too busy and didn't want to sell me one. Seriously!! I asked him how much a day pass usually cost. He said $20. I said "can't I just give you $20 so I can work out?" He said no because he would still have to enter my information into their system and he said he didn't want to do that. I didn't argue but just left. Thought to myself that if you don't want to sell day passes don't advertise that you sell them. That result in a waste of my time even going there. Not a customer friendly experience!

Each tent also has its own little private outside setup with chairs & table on the porch plus lounge chairs and a personal fireplace right outside. Like literally every single tent had its own private fireplace right outside. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating and even offered extra towels and blankets whenever needed which we really appreciated. The pool and hot tub area were also extremely clean and well kept the entire time. One thing I was pleasantly surprised by was the bathroom situation. Since they're shared bathrooms I expected something more public or hostel style but each one is actually completely private with its own shower and bathroom which made the experience feel way more comfortable. And the location honestly could not be better. You're literally just a 3-4 blocks from downtown Guerneville so you can walk to all the restaurants, bars, thrift shops and little art galleries so easily. We will be back at Surrey Resort every time we're in Guerneville!!

Theres one downstairs for younger children and one upstairs for older kids. They also have parents night out events that let you drop your kids off for pizza and movies. They have lots of options to choose between for all types of fitness levels and interests. They have a great weight room area and equally great machine area, they have yoga rooms, stationary bike room, a rock climbing wall and much more. The recreational pool is heated, lap pool isn't and the kiddie pool isn't either but it's a great cold plunge in the winter. I usually hit that then the sauna before my workouts. They have a basketball court inside and pickle ball courts outside in the back which always has action on them. Theres so much more they offer but I still have not had the chance to try it all out. Their juice/ snack bar is amazing. The soups and wraps are fire!! I highly recommend this place, especially if you have kids. The staff is great and the place is clean. Because of that, I've heard many conversations about negative interactions with Alexa at the front desk/ around gym and after experiencing it myself, I now understand exactly what they were talking about. It was disappointing to see that's why I decided to write a review. It's not necessarily what is said it's how it's said. I had been communicating with the finance department by email/ over phone about adding my fiancé to my membership. When we arrived, I simply tried to explain that he was accompanying me so we could complete the process. Before I could even finish my sentence, Alexa interrupted me and spoke to me in a condescending and unfriendly manner. There was absolutely no reason for the attitude when I was simply trying to explain the situation. I've referred three friends, my mother joined because of my recommendation, and I was in the process of adding my fiancé. I genuinely enjoy this gym, which is exactly why this interaction was so frustrating. As a business owner myself, I understand how important customer service is. The front desk staff are the face of the business and set the tone for every member's experience. One employee can either strengthen a company's reputation or damage it. Alexa's behavior did not reflect the welcoming environment that members expect. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback and customer service training happends seriously because no member should be made to feel unwelcome, disrespected, or dismissed the moment they walk through the door.
