OMG, I went here today because I need a keyless entry remote for my husband's car. The dealership charges $300.00 for the key and programming it. (OUCH) They sell and program a new key for $145.00. The gentlemen named Jake was the one helping me today. I was highly impressed by him. He fixed my key without me having to buy a new one. Of course the "fix" may not last but it is worth a try. Also, another customer asked where to find something and he sent him right where it would be on the shelf; even said the color of the can it would be in. This review is for Ace Hardware and the little post office inside this Ace Hardware. Ace Hardware: Who doesn't love Ace?! It's a baby Home Depot wrapped up in a Hallmark Store! They have awesome decor, gifts, hardware, aur filters, bird seed, gardening tools, picture frames, greeting cards and SO much more. I go here to get keys made too. It's a little more expensive, but I know I'm getting a good cut key. The new kiosk stations in grocery stores are not high quality. Need cleaning products? They have lots. Need kitchen items? Ace has you covered. Need a gift? Chose from candles, crystal figurines, boutique clothing, picture frames and lots of other items. There's a good energy from the employees too. Post Office: Always friendly and fast service. The line get long, but they deal well having smiles and patience. Side note: check out the 60% off rack right by the post office area. Today I went in to look at vacuum breakers for water sprinkler system. They had only one model in stock from what I could see and it was listed for $169 dollars and some cents. I looked up online and found the same part at the Home Depot for $119 and some cents. I realize there is a little markup at ace for convenience and "locally owned", but $50 bucks?? I went to the counter and asked if they price matched, but was told no. That is absolutely ridiculous. Look up prices online before you shop here. I enjoy this little oasis. But tonight was special, it was their annual Ladies Night Out. Ladies night out at the hardware store, do tell . It included awesome food samples, dips, soups, desserts, pork tenderloin, sausage and wine. What's a ladies night out without wine, plus the more you drink the more you buy. Shopping was easy with 20% off each item. I almost forgot the Langham Creek High School orchestra performance. They were like USPS, rain or shine we are performing. Shot! I forgot to mention the door prizes, yup snag myself one. Also snag myself a cake tester say goodbye toothpicks. This location is always a gem, tonight took it up a notch. read more

This is a middle-sized, well laid-out Ace Hardware store, with great home and yard necessities.

I prefer this location compared to all the other locations in Houston and Austin also. The food and service have been consistently good every time......even the cleanliness of the restaurant was impressive compared to the other locations. read more

I've been to many Ace Hardware stores before, but never to one like this one. This particular location is kind of like a hardware store and a craft store mixed into one! You just have to come in here to see what I'm talking about. This place also sells your typical home improvement stuff, paint, grills; they make keys, and they could also refill your propane. Anyway, I came in here to engrave a whole bunch of RTIC tumblers for my workplace. We had the Stainless Steel version done before, and now we're having the black ones done. We weren't sure what the outcome would look like and they didn't have any sample to show us, but the gentleman who was helping me, James, wanted me to leave with confidence that they would do a good job so he went to the back to look for something similar. He came out with a blue tumbler. Good enough, so we gave it a go. The final product is excellent. Quality work at a reasonable price. If you're looking for a place that could do a good job engraving your tumbler, definitely check this place out. The only downside I could think of is, for a store this size, it didn't seem like they had as many employees working there as they should. read more

This review is only for the Post Office inside. This USPS is the closest location to me per Google but thought it was sketchy until I visited today. It is in fact located inside of Ace Hardware on the right side. Obviously much smaller than the stand-alone post offices. I had a box already wrapped/prepared with a label so it was super simple to drop off. There was no wait. It only took 5 seconds for her to scan it in and give me a receipt with a tracking number. I dropped off around 3:45 PM on Wednesday. She said USPS would pick up tomorrow at 10:30 AM. No complaints thus far. read more

They are always great, buy in times like these (winter storm) they really shine!!! I needed a couple PVC elbow joints. I went to one of the mega hardware stores first, super long line, herded like cattle with no information until you get to the front of the line. Knowing that the service would be much better at ACE, I left big box store to drive across town to this Ace Hardware. Very short line at the front door, and there were actual people helping customers with much needed information. They were drawing attention to the sign posting all parts that were SOLD OUT. That alone was Fantastic information, but then I notice that they had a large bin outside filled with FREE PVC parts with a sign says "Take only what you need". WOW!!! I'm not done... Then we go inside and get in a short fast moving line at the plumbing area, they have a table set up with their most experienced plumbing experts there to see what your needs are and to fetch the parts for you. Very helpful, and friendly. Could not ask for any better service. If I could give 10 stars I would read more

Very racial environment, I was escorted to the lawnmower section which was not far from the registers. I would have rather been directed to where I need to go. I was there for 1 hr approximately. Other people walked in and where not escorted. They where told exactly where to find they're items. I noticed everyone who walked in was not of color. I felt the tension in there. Pretty bad customer service. I purchased a tumbler online and went to pick it up I store. When I got home I noticed the cup was dented so I went back the next day to exchange it. They said the cup was out of stock which I understood and I asked if I could just get another color of the same cup. Well they said sure but I'd have to pay the price difference. I got the tumbler on sale and was confused to why it wouldn't be an even exchange since they were out of stock of the color I purchased. As they were going on and on about how they didn't notice the dent when I picked it up I got the feeling that they assumed I dented the tumbler and tried to return it. I've worked in retail management over 15 years and it would never be a problem to exchange the same item but different color due to the original color being out of stock. Plus I had the receipt. I didn't dent the cup! I wouldn't take the time to drive all the way back if I damaged it. I didn't like the feeling of being blamed at all. I drove all the way back because I didn't like the fact that I paid for a damaged item. I didn't want a refund, I wanted an item that wasn't damaged. read more

I love the idea of lots of selections at the warehouse hardward places like Home Depot and Lowes, but have you ever tried to find someone to wait on you? I needed some cut glass for a custom cabinet and tried calling Home Depot. Of course, it was automated and after finally getting through to millwork of all departments, I was told that they do not cut their own glass. He then told me that his customers told him that Lowes, glass cutter was down and that I could try Ace on Barker Cypress. As it turns out, it was around the corner from the crib, but they closed at 6pm on Saturday, so after church, I roll in to see if they could help. Now these are the hardware stores of old. Lots of service and lots of diverse offerings. I was given two choices and both were inexpensive compared to custom glass or mirror places. While I waited, I found some other things I needed. The guy followed me to the counter then took the glass out to the car for me. Now thats what I am talking about. I vow to give these guys my business when I can. I recommend my neighbors do the same thing. read more

They have all these neat trinkets and gifts that distracts me while I stop in to mail letters and packages in the small USPS mail center in the back. I moved to this area several years ago during this time I bought several items from this location and the way you get greeted from the moment you walk in is excellent, management and employees are helpful in every possible way! I had an emergency at home 15 minutes after they close the manager open the doors and instead of being told no we can't help you, he said "Come on in and get what you need, we understand we got homes to" Now, I tell them what I need and if they don't have it I place the order and wait till they get it and purchased from them and instead of marking up the price like orange and blue stores he sells them to me at a discounted price compare to those stores. We like to grill a lot so we go there for the refills on the propane. Every time I go in I get quick and fast service. Plus the propane refill is a true 100% refill. The refills you get at Valero are only 80% full. It's cheaper and you get more at Ace. read more

If you are over 50, then this place will remind you of the hardware store you went to when you were a kid. This place has a lot packed into it. And yes, the isles can be crowded, there is some sloppiness in some displays and it might have "that weird smell" as Marcus V. wrote but that's a part of the the hardware store experience of my youth. I like the feel of a treasure hunt each time I go looking for something at this store. It's the same one that I got as a boy when I went to the hardware store with my grandfather to find a new magical part to repair some broken appliance or fix something around the house. From nuts and bolts to fertilizer to a wedge for my ax handle to strange collection of collegiate logo items to the only place that stocks the filter size for my HVAC to brass fittings for my air compressor and Craftsman tools; these are are few of the things that keep me coming back. This is not a bid box home improvement store and you should not come here expecting that kind of offering. They don't showroom 12 different models of water heaters but they can get you a repair part for your lawnmower. A couple of thoughts on some of the knocks by other reviewers. Nikki W. what the heck are you doing girl? I can't keep up with all the stuff going on with your paint - colors/brands/trips. I do know any place that matches paint will tell you it's not going to be perfect and I also know that cross mixing cans is recommended to insure consistency. Thirty minutes to get a gallon of paint is much too long to wait when no other customers were waiting to get paint. Last night I had a great experience in the paint department of this Ace Hardware location. The young man in the paint department figured out the can of paint (who was left by the previous owner of the home) had two mixtures in it. All went well. Then, I returned today to get another can of the same paint. I tried to explain the young man from last night simply mixed the first tinting from one label on the paint can lid and then added colors from the second label. James seemed irritated and that I didn't know what I was talking about and didn't want to be bothered because he was looking for a spark plug on the computer for a another customer. That wouldn't have been a problem except James evidently was the only person in the store who could mix this particular paint. Another salesperson tried to mix the paint but James wouldn't allow him to do so. He was apologetic. Besides, a specific color reservoir needed to be filled and James was the only one who could do it. I stood around for another 10 minutes waiting for James to continue looking at spark plugs. A young couple came up to the counter asking about oil-based paint. James shook his head and walked the couple down a paint aisle to show them something. Another sales person noticed me standing at the paint counter and asked James if he needed some help. James never acknowledged the salesperson then called someone else to come to the paint counter. The other person was dressed in all black and appeared to have nothing to offer to the situation. He walked away. I said, "I didn't understand why there is only one person who can mix paint on a Saturday is looking for spark plugs." I asked for manager. James said, "you're looking at him." I said, "I was shocked. Customer service doesn't appear to be a concern." James, "what did you say?" James' body language and tone was intimidating and threatening. I said, "Why can't someone else look for a spark plug and you take care of the paint? This doesn't seem to be very productive for a business." James, said to another salesperson, "Well, I was trying to take care of the customer I was already helping." That was a deflection for his behavior because James wouldn't have left the counter to help the young couple after I'd waited 10 minutes for him to look at spark plugs. Not sure if the customer looking for a spark plug was on the phone or not because I never actually saw a customer. Finally, James asked someone else to look for the spark plug. James took a tint container from a cabinet under the paint counter. Opened the container and poured it into the tint dispenser. Closed the container and returned it to the cabinet. This is what I waited 20 minutes for because no one else could do this. Really? James appeared irritated as he slammed things around while he mixed the paint I asked for. During the entire ordeal, a couple of employees came into the area and quickly scurried away. Maybe this is normal behavior for James. This isn't acceptable behavior for anyone regardless if the person is a traditional salesperson or a manager. I will never return to this Ace Hardware for business. I always feel akward in here. The employees are selective over who they are helpful towards. Getting propane tanks refilled is pretty easy, just let the counter know and they call someone to go out. If you can catch the guy all ready out there its even better because you just get your tank filled then go pay inside. But i havent received much assistance while inside the store looking for certain items or needing advice. They will quickly run to a phone or get on their walky talky devices to seem unavailable. read more
