Not really a hospital anymore, more of a "medical group" these days. Regardless, every single visit I've never had to wait past my appointment time. Parking can sometimes be a nightmare, but if you don't mind walking, there's plenty. The hospital is growing in size, with plans to open a new wing. Good luck with making an appointment via the HRVA appointment line if you're a dependapotamus, and god speed with the pharmacy... 3.5 rounded up. read more

I went to this hospital from Portsmouth 40 minutes drive because I couldn't get any appointment on that day It was waste of time I'll never come back to this one I took Flu test ,strep test,Covid test,whooping cough test All of the results are not coming back yet from 3 days ago I tried to call them they never answered the phone If my one of results are positive I need antibiotics I have to go to the portsmouth clinic to do the test again because I need to know the results asap read more

My son had to come in for a same day procedure... I must say that the staff is very accommodating and helpful. The facility is clean and sanitized. The bathrooms were clean and orderly. I found parking right away. Overall my experience has been extremely stress free and pleasant. I have no complaints! FYI... Only main entrance in hospital is open. It seems this hospital is always evolving., which is great. I generally feel they do what they can to reduce wait times. Just like any hospital or doctors office you will need to find a doctor who fits your needs and understands you as a patient. I have had pretty good luck this far here. I have waited maybe 15-20 min max at the laboratory for testing. No complaints there. The staff throughout the entire hospital have been polite and helpful. For the most part the hospital is clean. They are doing all they can with the man power they have to kept it clean. Major respect for everyone here the hospital has an open concept in many parts. For example the laboratory area, pharmacy and radiology areas are all open to each other. read more

Oh my God, I just got a call from Ashley Williams in the medical records department and it was the worst call ever. Ashley was extremely rude to me the moment we started to talk. Ms. Williams was not only rude to me but got hostile as well. I can only assume that Ms. Williams has been getting away with having a bad attitude toward patient because she was very comfortable doing so. So, needless to say, I did not get what I wanted done because when I asked to speak to her supervisor, Ashley hung the phone me. No one has ever disrespected me to the point of bring me to tears. This review is for the satellite pharmacy located across from the commissary parking lot. I am writing about my experience today- as it is the 4th negative experience. They broke me. 2 reasons that it actually even has a star: 1- it will not let me leave zero stars 2- I did NOT get an automated response after filing a complaint, I actually got a human being- but they were unfortunately unable to resolve the matter- they were just letting me know that they were passing it on to leadership. I tried calling ahead, but there was a long wait time. I arrived before I got a human on the phone. I got in line at the drive-through so I could at least talk to a human and ask them what I should do, when the hold music paused and said that there was a new way to activate a prescription was through their text number. so I got out of line to activate my prescription- knowing that under normal circumstances they do not activate prescriptions through the drive-through. So I submit the information it requested, and it said it could not find my prescription in the system so it kicked me out of my place in line. The only way that I would be able to activate my prescription was to go inside the building. Being Covid positive, that was actually NOT an option. (some places are relaxing so much that they don't care anymore- and I wasn't wanting that- I literally just wanted to send the information through the drive-through or even hold my stuff up against the glass for them to read and not even have to touch. I have literally been able to handle everything else in my life from home or through a drive-through and everyone has accommodated so that we can stay in our vehicle. I also had my sick kiddos with me as well. My husband has to stay on board ship but would be available on a Saturday, but they are not open on Saturdays. I tried calling to get the matter resolved, and it took almost half an hour to get a human. By that time, I had already lodged a complaint because the time for same-day service had expired and I would now be out of my medication over the weekend. I finally did get a human on the phone only to be enraged at how I was treated. I explained to her in detail the situation and she just kept repeating that I had several options. The options she gave me were: 1. to have the doctor submit it electronically, 2. have my husband come in, 3. or go to a civilian pharmacy that could accommodate full drive-through service and I pay for my medicine. 1. There are certain kinds of prescriptions you cannot submit electronically with the military. Mine falls in that category. And covid did not waive that rule. 2. The lady could not understand that I could not make my husband immediately available- that he is not allowed to come off of the ship due to the nature of his job until Saturday- when the pharmacy is closed. 3. Going to Walgreens or CVS, I would have to pay a co-pay for my medicine- and if it was under $50, I probably would've broken down and done that today. But it is closer to $100, and I absolutely cannot afford that. She sounded annoyed like I was wasting HER time, and just kept repeating that I had several options and to have a nice day. I had the paper prescription in hand, I had my ID, I had all of the information. They literally just needed to accept my stuff through the drive-through window like a normal pharmacy and I wouldn't have even sat there and held up the line! I would've figured something out until it was ready and gone back through the line to pick it up. she was completely uninterested in actually solving the problem- did not attempt to ask around, or get any sort of manager, or put me on hold to try to figure something out- she did not give me one single solution that was viable. There is NO way this place would pass muster if the people in charge really got into the shoes of those who they are supposed to be helping. They are supposed to be providing a flexible more convenient pharmacy, that treats people with respect. They need better hours, and be open on Saturdays- EVEN BANKS DO THAT! Ugh! Where is the re- set button on this place? Somebody push it- stat! I have no problem updating this review if "Leadership" gets back to me and changes are made- or if I see even a flicker of improvement of the situation. read more

I have been dealing with this clinic for a decade now and i even had my child there ( without the presence of OB or a doctor, -can only in military hospital-, and i bet all the documentations, it says otherwise), lots of people don't know this info so i will make it public, Langley number 757-225-7630 will not call the hospital, there are no more direct lines to the hospital, if you know some that start with 757-764... you might be in luck, hopefully they answer, they can see the call is coming from outside, Portsmouth navy hospital sometimes pickup the calls if you have the numbers that start with757-775.., now you are not lucky you will deal with Hampton road appt center, appointments are available usually 50 days to 60 days, it doesn't matter the reason, you could have a referral from the urgent care center to be seen by your provider for referrals to specialists by there are no exceptions. the day of your appointment, if you happened to be in a line of 10 people, and you reached the person who will check you in 10 or 15 mins after your time, you will have to wait until the end of the day to be seen or reschedule your appointment. During your appointment, if your visit require more time, don't be surprised if NURSE TRUE knocks the door so violently to inform the doctor, he needs to stop the appointment. Ah, referrals and authorizations, the success rate is less than 20%, most of the time, i had to contact them at least once about it but with the new Genesis, dealing with doctors directly has been impossible. Brings me to Genesis, finally they added the prescription option, I am not even going to bother discussing this, because the former system worked but as usual they try to save money by investing in something that doesn't work. your medication, hopefully you can get it from the base, some of us have monthly meds that we have to use Walgreens for because someone on base doesn't want to bother to request them. Do i think i am getting good medical care, the answer is NOOOOOO, my last PAP was over 7 years ago, I haven't had any visits or checks even when i am really sick because it is impossible to be seen, my referrals unfortunately have 100 percent error rate . the previous percentage was a family one. Portsmouth is a better hospital, i just wished it was not far so the kids don't have to miss school. The service is excellent. I am not sure who is the new commander of Langley clinic, but it was bad enough, removing phone access for patients or making them believe that the number is still working is sooooo deceitful. My Grandson has not been feeling well for the past few days. We had brought him to the ER late at night and was checked in quickly. The Hospital was very clean. The staff was kind when checking in. He was then taken in to do his vitals shortly after and then to his room to wait to see the Doctor on Duty. We were then greeted by Dr. Richard Tan who had listened to our concerns and went straight into running tests on him. Dr. Tan's assist, Sgt Calderon was very kind and very helpful while we were waiting for the tests to be complete and to wait for the results. Dr. Tan was very thorough in assisting my Grandson. He had even stayed in contact with the Pediatrician on call as well which had made us feel better with some of our concerns. Once all of the concerns were met, Dr. Tan had informed us that my Grandson's Medicine would be available in the Pharmacy at 1:20 a.m. when we had completed our visit. We were pleasantly surprised and happy that we were able to obtain his Medication right away so that we could give it to him. Overall, Oir visit to this Hospital was Awesome! Compared to other hospitals I've visited, I really have no complaints for Langley. Usually the staff is efficient, and still caring, and I've never felt like I was in the way or just a nuisance like I have at other hospitals. Inside its nice, clean, modern-feeling for the most part... And they just put in a little coffee corner! That is so nice for all the appointments I've had there, makes the wait a little easier. I have visited the ER here, and it's pretty standard. Sometimes a long wait, sometimes not, but each time I've received great care. I'll be delivering here as well, choosing it over others in the area. Very pleased with it overall. read more

I've had ok experiences the dozen of times I have been here since arriving in the area. The hospital it's self is nice, new and clean. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful overall. However, the civilians seem to be more happy than the Airman. Actually most of the Airman I talk to aren't happy here. I'm not exactly sure all their issues but it's sad to hear. The Dr. treatments and interactions I have received have all gone great and we're pleasant and helpful. My worst experiments have been with the pharmacy. Many times I run out of medication because I dread going to it. Again, the military staff have not been helpful or nice. Hopefully it improves. read more

Every other experience we have ever had here was great, and the facility is excellent. But our experience today warrants a warning for others: They have no business calling their ER an ER. Four hour wait time when not another single person is waiting? Seriously?! We called the Tricare Nurse Line when my wife's ear infection became unbearably painful, her face swelled up, she lost all hearing, and had a high fever. They told us she needed to be seen URGENTLY, and told us to come here instead of going to an urgent care. What a mistake. She would have been treated and sent home from an urgent care in less time than it even took before a nurse even spoke to her at this "Emergency" Room. The receptionist was also rude and uncaring, and gave no explanation whatsoever. I'd call this place a joke, but it's not funny, it's tragic. If you care about your loved ones, and you have the option of going anywhere else for urgent care, do it. read more

When I initially thought was to write a review about the women's health and the labor and delivery because those were the kind of reviews I was looking for when I first wanted to go to langley when I discovered I was pregnant with my second child. We had already been to pediatrics with the daughter and always like it. Very good nurses working there and the doctors were all nice with my baby. Like that they have a "well baby" area so that babies without any problems but who are there only for the regular check ups don't have to sit with people who may or may not be contagious. Womens health is a hit or miss. I was a little disappointed that I didn't see the same doctor but then realized I could probably have requested that. Oh well. The doctors were nice. The front desk .. meh .. some of them could use some personal communication training. They caught up pretty quickly that I was having high blood pressure and acted on that. Started with stress testing to make sure baby was doing good. The more extensive ultrasounds are all done at radiology at the other side of the building. They're pretty nice there too. At labor and delivery the people are great! I felt so good having my baby there and being taken care of. After a c-section they are on your ass to get out of bed and start moving. No cheating (i tried!). I could go on and on about this hospital but I wont. Or wait, I will mention that my eight month old son had surgery and was so well taken care of. Mind you, it's not easy knowing your son will be put to sleep but they went over it plenty of times for me to feel at ease. And I was there when he woke up. It's truly a great hospital. I've always been torn when it comes to military hospitals because I've heard bad things but with langley i have no complaints. Not about the care that is. read more

Hadn't been here in a number of years since the remodel (yeah a long time ago). Recently went on a Dr. Referral and was completely satisfied. The parking kinda blows, but otherwise a great experience and visit. Total clean inside. Staff is very professional. Getting around is a bit quirky. I couldn't find anything without asking first the service desk assistant on the first floor, who kindly gave me directions to take the elevator on my left to the 3rd floor. As a retired vet, I'm glad we have a hospital such as Langley at our disposal. Thanks. read more

Is this place even open? No one answers the phone, fax number doesn't work. Left on hold by an answering machine for 20 minutes then hung up on. No answer, time after time. I had my son there 19years ago today and the experience was amazing. I had a doctor and saw several Mid-wives but everyone was always professional . The women's clinic is by far the worst medical care I've ever received we are high risk we expressed our concerns they had our medical records they brushed us off we require medications to keep pregnancies with out the medications weekly monitoring from the get go and bloodwork twice a week until 20 wks we miscarry if not we expressed all Of it to them and asked what their plan was they would not give us the medications we require and have let me now go 2wks into a miscarriage none of the ones we have ever suffered and lasted more then 3-4 days but yet they continue to do nothing their ER is just as bad! read more

Women's health here is not ok when you are pregnant. I heard that civilians get treated better than active duty, but I could not get them to listen to me for the life of me. I filed 2 patient advocate complaints, brought my commander to appointments, and they still treated me like garbage. After not shutting up and giving a LIST of grievances they finally referred me to the Navy hospital. Yes, I drove an hour to every appt to avoid this place. Everyone else here is great-cardiology, labor and delivery (i checked myself in a few times when women's health claimed I was fine-what do you know, i was admitted every time) flight med, and every other department. Langley Air force base ER is the worst in the history of ER. I'm a mother of 3, I know when my body is speaking to me I just don't go to the er or make doc appointment for every little thing. I go to this place because these people don't see me laying all over the place, they come up with the conclusion that my problem is not serious, so, they go ahead and call 4 person before me when I there long before these people came. I approached the front desk and the guy there said they choosing more serious cases. Are you in my body, do you know how I feel??? I'm still waiting and when they called the 5th person over me I was done I left. I won't recommend this place to anyone cause they probably don't know the meaning of emergency! read more

If I could give the Emergency Room 0 stars I would. The staff is very rude and inconsiderate. I work here at this hospital and I went in to the ER after being sick for 6 days and it progressively getting worse. I was triaged by a male nurse. A major. Last name Pope. He was completely unprofessional and rude. The first thing he said when I walked into the triage room was "you didn't go to sick call because... what??". I had not previously been educated that there was a sick call for cold and flu stuff and that it was only between certain hours. And then he proceeded to tell me that the ER only has one doctor so I'm going to be waiting for a long time. A few moments later as I'm sitting in the waiting room waiting to be called back to the actual ER room, an army guy came to check in for similar cold and flu symptoms. The same nurse told him to call his cadre and have them schedule him an appointment back at his base because "we only have one doctor here". THEN a young lady came up to check in and she had previously had a heavy nosebleed and was feeling dizzy and lightheaded and before she could even finish checking in with the lady at the check In desk, the same nurse- Major Pope, straight up told her "I'm gonna tell you right now that we're not going to do anything for you." She look at him like wtf are you talking about and he said "from an ER standpoint, they're not going to do anything for you here." I was honestly baffled. I can't believe that there are people working in the medical profession who treat people like this. Like I said, I work here in the hospital, and there is no excuse to treat people with such indecency. You have no idea what people are dealing with or what they had to deal with this morning or why they couldn't make it to the sick call hours. Its honestly absurd. While most positive reviews are from active duty families, let's face it the majority of the hospitals clients are retirees. If you are a Tricare for Life member, you'll discover it takes 45 days for a routine appointment and NONE of the military specialty clinics will see you - it's pure luck if you can get in. You end up at civilian emergency rooms and Urgent Care - which is fine if you have Medicare and are over 65. Bottom line if you have a chronic condition that requires routine interaction with a doctor, you're dead if you go to Langley. read more

Lack of communication by doctors and front desk staff, cancelled appointments, defensiveness and failure to accept constructive criticism, poor hours of operation and not open Saturday. Very cold inside. Here is what both my wife's OB/GYN doctor and front desk staff said today, after we called to find out if we needed labs, rads, etc., because they did not call us, nor inform us beforehand: 'It is NOT my fault.' I am solely basing my review on maternity care and L&D. Very dismissive to my needs and concerns. This was several years ago and from what I hear there has not been any improvement. I believe my doctor at the time was Dr. Johnson? I could be wrong but what horrible bedside manner. Even during labor when I sensed that something was terribly wrong her response was "well obviously you're in pain it's called labor for a reason" long story short I had a uterine rupture and have never been the same since because my uterus is essentially scar tissue. Even to have it removed I'd still be in pain and removal may cause other issues (per my pcm) so I've left it alone but my care at Langley was a nightmare. That doctor was just selfish and rude absolutely disgusting behavior. read more

The absolute worse base hospital, and if i could give it a ZERO, I would. Rude staff, horrible hours, almost impossible to get an appointment. We had an issues with the pass office, which caused us to get to our 2:00apt at 2:15....and my son was refused service, even with them knowing he needs medicine for a chronic issue, and even with them knowing we had to wait THREE weeks to even get a nurse to call us back about scheduling and appointment, and they already knew that this soonest appointment was A MONTH OUT from when they scheduled us back on 8/30. They rescheduled my son again for OCT 11. I could not fathom why a provider would not see my child, surely the appointment wasn't going to last for only 10 min, so I'm assuming we would have been back with the doctor longer that 2:00-2:15...so Why was he not seen. Any place that would refuse an autistic child their medicine because of a 10 min rule, sucks. I have never experience such bs in my life. And I must have talked to the two biggest pricks employed there, I don't know who was worse. i explained to them I can't just keep taking off of work, i actually have to DO my JOB. I became irate at the ignorance, and then I was told they needed my son's birth certificate to verify that he was My child, although we have been to this same office before, TWICE. INCOMPETENCE RUNS DEEP...TRY to get office base medical, this one sucks. read more

Wow... is all I can say about this hospital. They have some good departments and some bad. Surgery? Terrible. I wish I worked here. "We will give you a call in the next 3 days and if we don't give us a call to schedule your appointment." What you mean to say is "if I'm too lazy to do my job, please call me and make someone else do it for me!". ( no they didn't call, and said/ did this twice) Don't worry, not like my wife is in pain and needs this surgery done.. I wish I could do that in my job. The ER is another story. They go by symptoms so if you ever go in just say you have the next international virus like others did to get seen before my wife who was in lots of pain and could barely walk. Now the good. The Labor and delivery was really polite and amazing service with the exception of one doctor who blamed "being gassy and pregnant" on what the actual issue for the ensuing story above of gallstones. How does a doctor not look into pain and just assume? God forbid you get called in in the evening and you have to miss out on your Tuesday night show. Mrs. Washington in Woman's Health was by far the best we've met at the hospital and if it weren't for her I'd have total negativity about this place. Worse Military hospital I ever been to...me and my daughter waited in the waiting room so long to the point after 4 1/2 we left.. at the 3 1/2 hour mark I asked the guy at the desk how much longer do she have to wait..he went to the back came back and told me her chart was up...but yet they called two other people who came in two hours after we did to the back..My daughter was so weak she could barley walk and they didn't find that important enough to call her to the back. We went to an urgent care and was seen immediately.Was told she was so dehydrated they had to give her all kinds of vitamins and minerals before they could hydrate her...SMDH...I should have stayed my ass in Colorado read more
