We have a 10 year old water heater that was not heating as well as a year ago. Tom the technician came out to flush the tank for the first time on a routine call. He recommended to up the temperature setting one notch after finding minimal sediment in the flush. He gave us some operational tips and mentioned the mixing valve under the kitchen sink as a possible culprit if the flush did not completely solve our low hot water temperature problem. I rarely give reviews, even though I depend on them for things I am unfamiliar with. I recently purchased a new gas stove, and I needed my gas line moved. My previous stove was from 2009, and the new stoves come with a fan that changed the back of the stove. My new stove was delivered but could not be installed because the back was bumping up against the gas line. I either needed to move the gas line or swap out the new stove for electric (I have connections for both, but I really wanted to stay with gas). I called three plumbers. Two of the three plumbers I called charge for their quote (Langston gives free quotes). I had one plumber (that charges for their quote) come out to the house to give me a quote but I didn't get a good feeling about them. I am 60-year-old women, and I don't know anything about plumbing or gas lines. The thought of going into the wall to the unknown and moving the gas line had me nervous. I decided to keep looking around and I called Langston Plumbing, and I am so happy I did. Skyler and his wife are great. They are friendly and easy to work with. I told Skyler about my concerns, and he was very reassuring and let me know everything would work out fine and I would be cooking on my new stove in no time. When Skyler opened the wall, he had to pivot from his original plan to plan B (isn't that always the case). He did a fantastic job, and I am thrilled with his work. Skyler is a true professional! I couldn't recommend him more highly. He's extremely competent, professional, kind, friendly, honest and trustworthy. He really knows his stuff and doesn't overcharge you or take advantage of you in a tight spot. For us, our autistic three year old flushed some socks down the toilet. We pulled the toilet ourselves initially and pulled them out (unfortunately, not our first rodeo), but a couple of them unfortunately got through and clogged up our main line to our septic. Now everything upstream from that clog wasn't working -- two bathrooms and the laundry room. I forgot about the laundry and the water started backing up in the bath tub in one of the bathrooms when I washed a load of laundry! Our shower faucet recently started failing, causing it to leak. We called Langston Plumbing because when we used them last year to install a Moen automatic leak shutoff and some additional work on our deck, we were pleased with both the work and the price. Where do I begin? I have been running my vacation rentals since 2007. I had encountered many difficult situations during my time of hosting but this past Friday a group of 10 guests unbeknown to me were wedding party guests. They checked in very late. Then came this message "Hello there, I am sorry for texting you, I was wondering how do you make the hot water work? I am trying to take a shower and it's cold." Our water heater pilot was not working and despite my guest trying to help relight the pilot the flame didn't stay. The guests informed me they have to be at their wedding tomorrow at noon. I tried contacting all the plumbers and contractors I know and I got a booking but no one can come out before noon. In the morning I was able to get someone from Mr. Rooter, very nice company that had saved me on an emergency in the past to come out at 10 AM. Unfortunately they were only able to diagnose the problem but cannot help me get the hot water to work because the part they need is not available until Tuesday. Even if I wanted a new tank replaced despite my water heater is only 3 years old and has 9 years of warranty left, there is no tank in stock until Tuesday. Then came Skyler, he texted me saying he was heading to a job site near my place and he could help me get a new water heater and he would guarantee hot water on the same day. Thanks god for Skyler to save the day! My guests did have to take cold shower but they will enjoy hot showers for the next 2 days of their stay. We had a massive water leak in our house which caused our water bill to go skyrocket. The big problem is that we had no idea where the leak was - whether it's the house, front or backyard. Skylar was professional, knowledgeable and responsive throughout the process. He found the leak and helped us fixed the leak on a Saturday. we texted him a few hours afterward as the pipe glue had come undone (sometimes it happens). He came back the next day (Sunday) at 8am to reapply the glue, and hung out for a couple hours to make sure it stuck this time. We have not had any problems since. His price is reasonable, he is punctual, friendly, easy to coordinate with - the kind of guy you know you can trust to get things done.
