I am new to fireplaces, so I went…read morewith this business to inspect and update anything needed to make my fireplace in good working order for the winter. When they came out, they got my wife (I work all day, so my wife had to deal with these people). Upon doing their inspection, they told my wife the following which was texted to me by her (see photo 1). We went ahead and hired this company to do the work and make those replacements (see photo 2 on how it looked before the work was done. What they said was going to be a week took almost three weeks and several phone calls with an update on what's going on. They came and did the work and we paid them. I'm going to assume they weren't going to think we were going to look at their work (please see photos 3 and 4 which is what we paid roughly 1800 dollars for). Needless to say I wasn't happy, and neither was my wife. She reached out to them and communicated what I thought was going on with their workmanship (please see photo number 5 for their reply). For them to actually argue that the collar they put on wasn't almost completely if not totally mangled and bent is absurd. Their reply was beyond mind boggling. We decided to have them come out and replace the mangled and bent collar (see photo 6 for the replaced collar). Also see photo 7 of the mess on my lawn they didn't clean up. The fact that they replaced the shoddy workmanship did help and ultimately prevent a complaint with the BBB and/or a potential lawsuit, but that is the last business I will do with these clowns. I will be giving my money and repeat business to a different chimney/fireplace company. Please take this review into consideration if you choose to go with this business.

He said I was good to go. Two days ago, the flame would not come on again. I called to explain what happened and tried to get another appointment. The earliest they had was an appointment in January. While I understand that this is a busy time of the year their position was there was nothing, they could do about it because they were completely booked. To me that is not a customer focused policy. It's hard for me to believe that there was not a way that they could have found a way to come and fix a problem that the service tech had not fixed. However, I realize that they have the right to run their business as they see fit. Just like I have the right to go elsewhere to have my fireplace serviced. That's exactly what I have done. My first of future appointments is next week.

The guys coming out to service the chimney and stove have been stellar. Unfortunately, I just tried to get some family members who are new to the area lined up with Top Hat on the phone and a guy named Ron was completely irritating. He was impatient, curt and wouldn't give me the information I needed without an attitude. I asked for list of measurements and photos my family should bring in to allow them to determine what could and couldn't be done and he refused to do that (because no one could come to their house to make the determination??) I am close to never calling Top Hat again for my own needs. I'll certainly check elsewhere for what my family hopes to install.

They told us we needed to pay a deposit for materials - no problem was only $300. Deposit paid and work scheduled. No one showed up, no one called. I tried calling and emailing, no response for about a month or so, or if I called a got a message saying this jumber was not accepting calls. Finally we got an email saying there was a family emergency and that's why they haven't been in contact. Ok, I understand stuff happens. But - after scheduling again they don't show up or contact us! After another month or so I left a message/sent an email. They said there was a death in the family but they would start the job the following Monday (last week). Guess what! No one showed! And no word of getting the deposit back. I even tried contacting them on Facebook - message was read but no response. I work for a fairly large company so we will take the $300 as a loss and find a more professional and reliable company.

This review is long over due but hopefully worth the wait. We couldn't be more passionate about…read morethis company, George, and the incredible job done on our kitchen granite! Our request was a bit unconventional; we had all the granite in a handful of pieces already and needed help cutting, joining and polishing edges. We wanted to have this done at our home because we had limited pieces, they fit our counter space only one way (sides weren't same length/depth), and were afraid if done in a shop there would be a high chance for a mis-cut, and we'd be SOL. A handful of companies seemed confused and didn't like that we wouldn't be purchasing the material through them. Most also refused to do it outside of the shop, given the dust and lack of transferable equipment. George, however, although weary of the dust as well, came to the house to check everything out and agreed to do it at our home with my husband's help. Just the two of them, we bought the appropriate masks/filters they spent every bit of 12 hours working their tails off. George was extremely focused on quality, emphasizing the importance he places on the details, down to matching the filler color as close to the granite as possible. This is a man with incredible work ethic, and appreciation for kind people. He was grateful for my husband's help for the duration of the project. We couldn't be happier with how our kitchen turned out and can't recommend George enough! He will definitely be our go-to guy for our future home needs. We sincerely appreciated his genuineness and commitment.

Thursday morning, a leak sprang on the pipe connecting to our hot water heater which resulted in us…read moreneeding to shut off all of the water to the first floor (and all of the hot water). I called around 8:30 a.m. The gentleman told me he needed to finish shoveling his driveway and he would be over. He made it over around 11. In less than 10 minutes he had assessed the problem but said he didn't have the parts and he would be back on Friday. We hadn't heard anything by 12:30 on Friday, so we called. He said he had an unexpected job come up but he would be here sometime that day. He didn't show up and he didn't call. We called late Friday to ask him to let us know when he thought he would be able to come. He didn't answer and he didn't call back. We assumed he wasn't going to come Saturday or Sunday. On Monday at 11 a.m. we still hadn't heard anything so we called. He said that he had another job but would get to it tomorrow. On Tuesday at 1 we called again. This time he said he has no idea what's wrong with it but he was going to come over in a few minutes to check it out. At 3:20 he still had not arrived so we called and he didn't answer. At 3:30 he called back and told us he's retired and doesn't do plumbing anymore. We tried very hard to be patient and accommodating, but we can't allow this behavior to go unreviewed.
