He said the crust itself tasted different than other pizzas and he loved it. They go heavy on the sauce. I enjoyed my shredded chicken nachos with freshly sliced jalapeños. Their jojos were gigantic! My mother in law loved her eggs Benedict and had 0 complaints. But she doesn't usually complain. She did finish her plate! 10/10. The bathrooms are excellent here too but always busy as there is only 1 toilet in each bathroom. 10/10. Drinks were inexpensive and tasty!!! I'd definitely come here again the next time we are here camping. And again the service was phenomenal. Really friendly quick helpful staff.

After we were seated, I asked our waitress, Bella, where the restroom was. She pointed me in the right direction, which required walking through an adjacent room where an older woman was selling horse-related items. When I tried to pass through to the restroom, the woman seemed hesitant to let me access it until Bella explained that I was a customer having lunch. While I was in the restroom, my daughter and her boyfriend encountered the same thing. I actually heard Bella assure the woman that they were also there having lunch. It was a strange and unwelcoming way to start our visit. Food-wise, I ordered the chili burger, which is advertised as having homemade chili and, if I remember correctly, "the best chili north of the border." Unfortunately, the chili tasted canned to me and was honestly lower quality than something like Hormel. I definitely wouldn't order it again. The rest of my party had a French dip and fries, a salmon patty burger and fries, and a "works" burger with fries, and they all enjoyed their meals. We did get a seat overlooking the river, which was by far my favorite part of the experience. It was a beautiful view. Bella was also friendly and attentive throughout most of our meal, refilling our coffee and water several times. What bothered me most happened toward the end. Before we had even finished eating, Bella came over asking if we were done and whether she could clear our plates. My daughter had only eaten half of her French dip and was literally still eating her fries. It gave me the distinct impression that we were being rushed out. My daughter clearly felt awkward and agreed to have her food boxed while looking at me as though she wasn't sure how she was supposed to respond. When I paid with Apple Pay, the woman handling the transaction also asked me to come back after completing the payment, which I assume was to verify that it had gone through. By itself, I probably wouldn't have thought much of it. Combined with the restroom encounters and feeling rushed from our table while we were still eating, though, the overall experience left me uncomfortable. Half of our group are Pacific Islander/Asian, and I don't casually attribute poor service to racism. I rarely feel that I've experienced racial discrimination, especially living in the diverse Seattle area. But I would be dishonest if I said the thought didn't cross my mind here. I can't know anyone's intentions, and I'm not going to claim with certainty that race was the reason we were treated this way. I can only say that the combination of interactions made us feel unwelcome and left me wondering whether we would have been treated differently if we looked different. I sincerely hope this was a one-off experience, especially since I understand this establishment has been around for more than 35 years. The river view was wonderful, most of my party enjoyed their food, and Bella was attentive in other respects, but unfortunately the way we felt welcomed--and then seemingly rushed out--overshadowed the positives for me.

The kitchen is not stocked with dish towels, serviceable spatulas, serving spoons, potholders serving dishes, large sauce pan, dishwasher, decent coffee or a coffee pot. The mattresses are worn out and saggy. The sofa is past end of life. The lighting is badly designed. The electrical outlets are so worn out that a two-prong power block will not stay plugged in. Although the addition of WiFi is welcome, the administration of the system is awful. I could not log in with both iPhone and iPad because I failed to save the password the first time I signed up. The personal hotspot is blocked, so I am no unable to log in with my computer. The single commode, shower stall and sink for a group of five adults is inadequate. It breaks my heart to post this review. We have loved being here over the years. I would be delighted to read reviews in the future about the amazing renovations.
