I was referred to this place since I have yet to find a stylist since moving to Charleston. I was really looking for someone who has worked with mixed hair. I have a lot of hair, it's wavy and can be a lot that not everyone is used to working with. Honestly I saw that Sarah had Lucious curly hair in her profile and picked her immediately out of the line up. I booked this online, it was fairly easy and they do a good job of giving you updates and reminders. I did not do a good job of reading the full details upon arriving so I showed up on their first floor salon. I got checked in by a very lovely young hostess and she escorted me to the other location which was up the stairs and away from the main floor. I'm so glad she showed me because I would've been so lost! lol She offered me a glass of sparkling wine while I waited. Both salons were so cute and chic, the decor was exotic and exciting. I sipped on my Prosecco and was taken in shortly after. I got a wash and she conditioned my hair before cutting it. Then she took her gracious time to blow out all of my hair and even did some touch ups with her iron to put the finishing touches on it. My hair was feeling light, sleek and smooth! We conversed throughout my visit and she was very friendly, and beautiful! Everything cost $85 and I left a $20 tip! I thought that was a very reasonable price for the service provided. She was open to feedback the entire process and we also had a great time chatting! My part was misbehaving at one point and she was relentless until all my hair was perfectly in place. I attached photos of multiple messages from them as proof. 30 minutes before my appointment they no only say that they can't see me, but that they don't do clip in hair extensions. I attached photos from their own website to show this is a lie. My poor fiance is calling salons trying to see if someone would fit me in. The party starts in a few hours. Really disappointed. Would-be first time client. They open at 9am, and my appt was for 10:20am. I arrived at 10am. The doors were locked. I called and called, after 5 unanswered calls, I left a voicemail. I waited until 10:25 and realized this situation wasn't going to magically change any time soon, no one in sight. About 15 minutes later, I get a phone call from the receptionist asking if I wanted to reschedule or if I was on my way. What?! I was standing in 95 degree heat outside the locked front door with no one answering the phone for 25 minutes! Apparently, their "WiFi was out downstairs, so they were on the 2nd floor." As a new customer, how was I supposed to know this? Everything about the website and every confirmation of my appointment said the salon entrance was at 209 Meeting Street. With barely an apology, the receptionist said she can "guide me" to the entrance for the 2nd floor. I was already half way home! The time to give me that information was BEFORE my appointment, not 20 minutes after it should have started. I just moved here, I researched a bunch of salons, picked this one carefully, and I was SO looking forward to getting my hair done for the first time in a while, but I couldn't believe how unprofessional this all was, not even a sign on the door (the MAIN entrance where clients are told to enter) saying to go to the 2nd floor, nothing in the several appt reminder emails and texts, completely in the dark, and no real apology to speak of, no follow up call from a manager. read more

Made an appointment and my hairstylist was not only late however then said he didn't have any time to do my hair before his next appointment. I wasn't originally offered a refund for the online fee and had to return and ask the front desk for one. I called beforehand and specifically asked if someone here could handle an undercut. They reassured me that they could. I was seen by someone named Gabrielle. At first, I was pleased with the service because she was fairly nice. However, the next time I went to get a haircut, my regular barber showed me that Gabrielle had drastically expanded my undercut, causing irreparable damage and cutting off years of growth. She also left a large patch of my undercut much longer than the rest. I have hated my hair ever since about a week after the cut. At first, I thought it was my fault, and I just didn't know how to style it. Eventually I realized that no matter what I do, it is scraggly and thin and awful looking. I am distraught. I love this place soooo much I cannot say enough. I've been to Lily Jahanbani twice now for hair and the woman is a scissor artist. I have uber long hair that I'm incredibly particular with, and I was nervous to change stylists but now I'd wish I'd gone to her sooner. She also does amazing with styles and can really get my curl to hold. She gives great recommendations on products and tools and is NEVER pushy. Elizabeth Desmond's makeup game is on point. She listened to exactly what I wanted nailed it. I got soooo many compliments. I love this place so much. Had a 2:30 pm appointment with Tiffany. Came waited for 15 minutes then I asked how much longer shall I wait? They said another 15 minutes... after 35 mins of waiting they said another 30 mins... long story short after an hour and ten mins waiting I gave up & left. I really appreciate their efforts in keeping the salon clean, approachable, lively, and friendly! My stylish Marlee Gamble was amazing as usual always knowing what I want and how to achieve the look effortlessly and with amazing maintenance times and low budget upkeep! She is the master blender and does great with all types of hair and amazing at balayage! It appears my 1 star google review was taken down--Further evidence of this salon's dishonesty and sleazy behavior. BEWARE. I'm reposting this review below in efforts of raising awareness of the nightmare experience I had as a once frequent salon-goer at Largo. Alana butchered my hair and used SCISSORS to cut the edges off of my weft hair extensions, which she tied extremely tight to my head--so tight that I had a headache for the next few days-- instead of loosening them with the proper tools. Why would a stylist cut off hair when I am paying to have MORE hair installed to begin with? I do not know. I held chunks of my actual hair in my hand pointing out "you just cut my actual hair" and she opened the palm of my hand, letting my hair fall to the ground, and frantically said "oh no, that's just the weft". I purchased over $1500 of hair at the salon and I asked them when I can retrieve the remaining $300 worth of k-tips that I purchased over 3 weeks ago now- and they have yet to respond. Another few hundred down the drain at Largo. I've included pictures and videos of the damage Alana caused to my hair, which I've sent to the salon on multiple occasions, but only received a response from salon assistant Connelly after I said I will be writing a Google review. Connelly was defensive and blamed me for the hair which was clearly cut and said "we own sheers that cost thousands of dollars so you would know if your hair was cut." Stunned at the disrespect I was receiving at a salon in which I recently spent thousands and generously tipped every person that touched my hair, I personally made the decision then and there not to return***. No apology or accountability was taken from anyone. ***Plan on tipping every single person that touches your hair at the end of your service an expected 18%-30% in addition to who you booked your service with; their faces will conveniently appear on an iPad at the end of your service. Typically at most high-end salons there is a one-time tipping add-on at the end of your service that is intended to cover the full service (the main service provider will then tip out the assistants). NOT HERE.*** Prior to this experience with Alana. I went to Largo every 2 weeks for partials, toners, full highlights (typically with the owner Ralph) and extension install/move-ups with Alana, as she is the only one in the salon that does extensions. I now discovered the frequency in which I went was not necessary and more so the salon's way of making as much money off of me as they could. The picture of my dark brown roots in the back of my head was after a "full highlight" with Alana. I told her that I wanted all of the brunette gone. She didn't know how to do that and frequently said, "I've never done this much hair before". I became nervous and inquired "aren't you a master stylist here?" to which she quickly replied "well it's just been a while." The service was rushed and to try and make excuses for her terrible job, she asked "you wanted a shadow root, right?" to which I replied "absolutely not." I recall her taking chunks of my hair and putting them into the biggest, sloppiest foils, resulting in orange hair even after the toner was applied. It also took abnormally long (almost 2.5 hours) perhaps because she did not mix the proper amount of bleach? As someone who's been a blonde for 5 years, I've never seen this technique before and for good reason. It was sloppy, rushed and unfinished. Certainly not worth hundreds spent on the highlight. Luckily Ralph offered to fix it free of charge, however at the end I was still asked how much I was going to tip from his wife who checked me out, who quickly added you don't have to, so I tipped him over 100% the cost of a full highlight service ($250) and then was asked what I would be tipping the assistants (for a service that was supposed to be free). I wasn't going to write this review but it just doesn't sit right with me that they are withholding hair I purchased and did not give me the decency of a response as to when I can retrieve the hair. UPDATE: 1/12/24 I have included my last correspondence with the salon on December 28th, asking when I can retrieve my purchased extensions and I NEVER received a response. I do not wish to include my real name for privacy reasons. Every few years, my hair stylists tend to move, have a life situation come up, etc., that necessitates me to go back on the market (not the dating apps) and find a new match. I heard from several people that Largo was a great spot, so I made the jump and called to book an appointment with Ralph. I went around 6 in the evening - so right of the gate, I'm happy because it's very hard in towns like Charleston to take care of things after 5, or even after 3 sometimes because of the "island time" culture here. So if you work or are an entrepreneur that doesn't just drink/boat/brunch/plan next weeks episode of drinking/boating/brunching, it can be hard to find time to get stuff done. The assistants were friendly, and the guy helping me legitimately looked like a young Danny McBride and had a good vibe to match. Rude stylists, I felt very uncomfortable with the stylist's passive aggressive manner the entire time I was in her chair. When she was "done" I repeated what I wanted. Long layers, thinned out hair. I also repeated it through out the haircut and was told "I know" or "I will get to it". Hair coloring was ok. She walked away as she told me "I guess so" . I scheduled an appointment with Genevieve for a base color touch-up and left with the worst haircut of my life. I didn't a book a haircut with my appointment but Genevieve asked if I wanted a trim. I stressed that I liked my hair and my length and only wanted my ends trimmed with no more than an inch off. I left with over four inches cut off and short, unblended, blocky layers that look like breakage. She made my hair look thin and left a large gap in the length. One of the BEST things I did for myself in 2021 was book a makeup lesson with Julien at The Lounge by Largo. I've wanted to get makeup lessons to improve my skills for years, and I am SO GLAD I finally made the investment with Julien. My makeup skills have improved SO MUCH, and I'm always excited to do my makeup because I know it's going to turn out great. He will teach you with his makeup, or you can bring your own makeup and he'll work with what you have. This is awesome because you don't have to go out after the class and buy a ton of new stuff. The Lounge is a little hard to find. You access it through the second floor of the parking garage. Once inside, you're surrounded by a very upscale, trendy space that still manages to feel cozy. If you've ever wanted to learn how to improve your makeup skills, I would absolutely recommend lessons with The Lounge by Largo. It was some of the best money I spent in 2021.⁠ read more

The customer service is awesome, the space is beautiful and I do believe there are good stylists who listen, but I sadly didn't get that with Marley. Should've looked at the other reviews for her, she refused to do what I wanted and when I had to correct her a few times, she assured me it was the lighting and it would look better in daylight. My hair color looked exactly the same when I got done officially after 5 hours it looked as though I got a haircut and a shine. She cut off way too much and I saw no good results I wanted to cry. I was exhausted and just decided to say it was okay and I left after store closure. I sobbed the whole way home for paying almost $300 for a cut I didn't even want with "curtain bangs" that she refused to cut above my chin line and a color that looked the same. Hi everyone. Just wanted to share my recent encounter with largo. I was called to make an appointment to get my hair done and book to get a facial. The resectionist, Brooklyn, wanted me to allocate 2.5 hrs. to do my hair. I expressed that 2 hrs wouldn't be enough time. I've been getting my hair down for years and know that it takes way over 4 hrs. The day of I expressed to my hair colorist very specifically what I wanted and expect to be done. She expressed she was concerned about the timeframe too but decided to move forward. All I wanted was my roots touched up with baby highlights, the money pieces done and the underneath of my hair done . I was very grown out. The colorist was able to match my previous color but you can clearly see it wasn't blended properly with my previous work and there were spots of brown hair. The underneath of my hair was still brown and slight money piece done to the front of my hair. I attached photos so you guys can see the results of the work and let them speak for themselves. I was scheduled to come back on the next day, just so they can call me and push back my appointment which was already late. Then they proceeded to tell me that they weren't going to fix it. I obviously ask for my money back, they were very nice about giving my money back which made me a little more relaxed but then they rudely told me , " Not get services done here again". So unprofessional to say when they messed up my hair. I've been getting services done at largo since 2019 multiple times by the artist Genevieve, whom is beyond talented! Will be posting a picture of how amazing the work I got done at Largo by her back in 2020 so you guys can compare the work (took a screenshot with the date) .
