They also brought me tea while I waited! Diel is amazing. She really understands how to cut and layer curly hair. I cannot tell you how many times I have had my hair cut by someone who does not understand my hair type. It was a relief to have my haircut by someone who really knows what they're working with and was able to help me fulfill my style vision. Diel also helped me find a conditioner that protects my ends from breaking. It's kind of weird-- it comes in a tub and is a thick purple substance that you massage into your hair. I've never had a conditioner like it, and I love it! My husband also loves coming here. And I have to say, they did a fantastic job cutting his hair as well! Recently tried out this salon after moving to Charleston and I am gravely disappointed. My stylist Brayden fried my hair beyond belief. It looks horrible and is breaking off. He also seemed to be on drugs during my service and was talking to another salon employee about how he was up all night the night before. I wished I would have stopped him or alerted management right away. I cried when I got home and examined my hair. Upon looking at his social media, it seems that he thinks it's funny to ruin peoples hair while on drugs. read more

I have written another review about how they don't listen, but need to add. My hair is so damaged now, and so short I am having nightmares, and cant even style it -looks like sh*t. It is horrible. if there is a negative rating I would give that to them DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR HAIR BUTCHERED! It will take a year for my hair to recover. Can't handle coloring hair, but attempt it with the ignorance of someone who tried to dye their own hair with a box from Walmart. Their cutting "skills" or lack thereof aren't much better. The decor is current and very soothing and comfortable. Jacqueline has been cutting my hair for many years and has recently joined the family at Salon Sage. It was only natural that I'd follow her here and I understand why she feels so at home in this space. I always feel like I'm the only client on the schedule when I'm in her chair. My hair is rather challenging because it's very straight and smooth, so no margin for error. A stacked bob is the natural choice since curls only last about 5 minutes for me. But to get the desired effect the cut is crucial and Jackie is an expert at making this old girl feel like 30 something. I always feel like I should be heading out to a power lunch or a big date when I walk out the door If you've ever left a salon feeling underwhelmed, call Jacqueline and try something new. Beyond disappointing at my experience with this salon. While they are a great group of people personality wise they are not good at coloring. I've given this place multiple chances with multiple different stylists and every single one of them can't figure it out. Every time I went they would never get my hair right I would come back they would attempt to make it better but it still wasn't what I wanted. For over $300 a pop I should've just left after the first time but I like them. After my last experience there and them doing my hair they told me they would not fix it again or give me a refund and wished me luck with a different salon. If you need your haircut or a few basic highlights I'm sure they'll do great but if you need any kind of color done well do not go here. This gives stylists the chance at thier own place inside a pretty awesome complex, it is right across from McAlisters and before you get to Ross. I stumbled upon Salon Sage by complete chance and I will tell you I haven't looked back since. Prior to getting my haircut by Allison I struggled to find a place that would give me a good haircut, at a fair price and in a setting where I felt comfortable to say what worked and didn't work for me.
