Cocktails were great and the meatballs were great with the sweet ricotta! The chicken LaRosa was honestly a show stopper. The sauce was on the lighter side and creamy and the chicken was still tender and crispy. The vongole was great as well! I love a thicker noodle with clams so I really enjoyed it! LaRosa's is a cute little restaurant. I was torn between ordering the bolognese and the vongole (both my favorite dishes at any Italian restaurant). I went with the vongole. It was good, but I wasn't particularly a fan of the noodles. It was hard and maybe a little too al dente for me. I had to use my knife to cut it. More of a personal preference, I don't do well with spice and felt there were was a lot of chili flakes in the sauce. The Nutella tiramisu was delicious though! I got the chicken parmigiana with rigatoni. It usually comes with spaghetti noodles, but I highly recommend getting it with the rigatoni. It's a cute cafe with pretty close quarters, but very nice ambiance. The menu has pretty select items, they know what they're good at and keep their menu concise. They do sandwiches, but we came for dinner, but I'd like to come back to try them. read more

I ordered their specialty, the LaRosa's pasta with vodka sauce, and I would honestly go back just for that, it was that good. The portions are huge and satisfying, definitely worth it. (They will start clearing your table while you are eating entree, so do expect to be treated like a passenger from overbooked airline.) I visited this restaurant just today for dinner with my girlfriend. We ordered an appetizer, entrées, four drinks, dessert, and a latte. The food itself was good, but the service completely ruined the experience. While we were still eating our entrées, three different staff members came over at different times asking if we were finished. One staff member in a floral skirt kept hovering angrily, repeatedly trying to clear the table even though we were still eating and drinking. When we ordered dessert, she looked almost upset, and after dropping it off she left the check on the table without a word. The worst part came when she tried to clear my latte while I was still drinking it. When I told her I wasn't finished, she told me that the restaurant only gives each table 1 hour and 30 minutes, and that I'd need to move "somewhere else" with my coffee. Excuse me? Where exactly was I supposed to go? I told her I'd finish quickly and leave, and she walked away without even a basic "thank you" or "hope you enjoyed your meal." If this restaurant enforces a strict 90-minute limit, then it should be clearly stated on the website or reservation page. Rushing customers through a full dinner -- from appetizer to dessert -- in an hour is unreasonable and disrespectful. Was this policy applied to everyone, or just to us? Either way, it left many questions and turned what should have been a lovely night into a frustrating experience. For a $170 check, I expected hospitality and respect, not to be treated like I was at a fast-food chain. Shame on management for ruining the hard work of the chef and barista. I will not be returning to this restaurant or any of its affiliates. read more

I'm so glad we finally got around to trying this place! I always love the *idea* of a chicken parm sandwich, but since I'm not a big red sauce fan I usually end up getting something else. Imagine my delight at seeing the Drunken Chicken Parm on their menu: Chicken parm made with vodka sauce! This was so good, and I finally felt I got to have the chicken parm experience. Our other item was the Caprese sandwich. They have this as a salad, too, so it was a hard choice but we were very happy with our sandwich. Very fresh and a relatively healthy pick. Service was quick - I placed an order with the very friendly staff and stepped next door for about 10 minutes to take care of other business. The food was ready just a few minutes after I got back despite quite a few customers. The shop is cute and has both outdoor and sidewalk tables. These looked comfortable, but it was take-out for us. Although both were phenomenal, the drunken parm is way more rich and filling- so splitting THIS sandwich was the right move. The sandwich was good and well put together. The flowers of the meat, cheese, veggies and balsamic go so well together. I wish the peppers were hotter but the roasted red peppers were delicious. The bread had a good toast on it but was still soft so the roof of my mouth isn't completely destroyed. Definitely make sure you have plenty of napkins. We visited Andover for the first time since we lived there 25 years ago we arrived hungry and confused as to all of the changes (but the CVS and Dunkin still there!) We peeked in LaRosas on the way to the pub I found on Yelp and Nick was at the bar and welcomed us. He made it an incredible dining experience for us. He made great suggestions, provided insights on what's new and listened to our old stories. The food was incredible-huge chicken parm and burrata ravioli. Great wine selection and spotless restroom. My daughter had a work party catered by LaRosa's and I was lucky enough to have her bring home the leftovers! Even reheated the next day, everything was Fabulous!! We started with the arugula salad, then onto a charcuterie board--both awesome. My chicken piccata was tasty but it did not have a lot of sauce with it and wasn't very lemony. Similarly, the pasta I got on the side was supposed to have the same sauce on it but it was just buttered plain pasta with no flavor. Highly recommend! I went here twice before COVID and once again in August and the food and service was incredible every time. I really liked the small, quaint outdoor patio located in the back of the restaurant - really gives you that nice Italian vibe with the exposed brick and hanging lights. For apps - the burrata (with prosciutto and pesto) was extremely fresh and so was the caprese. Any dish with salmon has been perfect - the salmon B.L.T. and salad were both amazing. For dinner, I also recommend the lobster alla vodka (I'm a sucker for a vodka cream sauce). They didn't skimp on the lobster meat which I find happens a lot. My sister is gluten free so it was great that they had GF pasta & bread available for her to enjoy... and she thought her meal was great. The cocktails were also excellent! We went with one of the seasonal specials and then switched to wine, although the drinks did take a while to come out, it won't change my review. My wife and I went last night for an early dinner. It was a our first time eating at LaRosa's. Even though the place wasn't busy we were sat in the middle room next to the only other couple there in very close quarters. It was next to a door, although glass paned, which let in light, it was uncomfortably close to the other table and that door. In addition there was a hand sanitizer station right next to my wife's chair and head. As this was our first time at the restaurant, placing us at, what I would consider one of the worst tables in the house, was not a great start to our evening. Normally, I would ask if there are other tables options, but decided to try it out. Our waitress, who was excellent, promptly greeted us, took our drink orders and delivered our drinks. We then ordered an appetizer, the Burrata with prosciutto. I then went to the restroom to wash my hands and decided that if the appetizer hadn't come when I got back to the table that I would ask for another table. I looked into the room with the bar, which had a number of hightop tables along the wall and in the windows that would have been preferable to where we been placed. There were more people in there and it was little bit livelier. I understand the establishment wants to spread tables over the servers to be fair and not overwhelm them, but for first timers we were underwhelmed. Unfortunately our appetizer had arrived so it would've been too much of a hassle to change tables. Our appetizer, the Buratta was excellent. We ordered our dinner. My wife got the Milanese and I got the Chicken Parmigiana, pretty basic but that's what I felt like. The portions were good sized and hot. I can't tell you how many times I have received food at fine restaurants where the food temperature has been warm at best. This is a sign of good service. This food didn't sit there. They got it right out to us and it was the perfect temperature. Our meals were taste wise ok maybe a little bland. Cheese cake dessert was disappointing, dry and clumpy. Overall: Our server was excellent, the food was a B- that reflects the tastiness and it was expensive, our table a D. After comparing notes when walking to the car we always ask ourselves "Would we go back?" "Would we tell our friends you gotta try this place" Answer: Maybe(which is good because a lot of places we've gone to for the first time are hard NO's for a return)...but not for a long while. We would try something else, food wise and definitely request and recommend a hightop in the bar room and in the window if available, or anywhere except were were placed. At first glance, I really wanted to like this place but first impressions, as a first timer: food taste, table and price, leave a mark so we'll give it a little time and maybe try it again down the road. read more
