They now have lots of entertainment, they are family friendly, they have super yummy pizza, great drinks and their bartender Tracey is excellent! The new owners are really trying to make this pub a big part of our community. They have been honoring local teachers by showing their appreciation. They have invited many schools staff into their pub for free pizza and a fun night out!! They are willing to help host fundraisers, and support local children sports. This place seemed like a nice choice after getting a 1.15 hour wait for lunch at the Irish Cottage. Walking in the vibe was that of a local place, mostly men. No one was there to greet us, but I saw a wait staff and asked if we could sit anywhere; Her monotone replay was yes. We sat and waited 10-15 minutes to place a drink order. Two waters, a beer and a soda. Another 15-20 minute wait to order our food. We ordered fried pickles, which came out quite fast. After 30 minutes, which seemed like forever, our food came. Hamburger/fries, fish dippers, chilli, and French onion soup. Thumbs up on the fish dippers, the hamburger rated an 8, chilli a 7, and the soup 6. All-in-all, if you're looking for a beer, give it a shot, but if a quick lunch is what you are after, try some place else. read more

Definitely a local spot. Stopped in on a Saturday around 3 before Christmas while out shopping. Nothing fancy. Plenty of high tops and table seating. Bar was spacious. Told we could see it anywhere. Only people were seated at the bar. We chose a high top right near the bar. Quickly greeted by the bartender. She was pleasant. Menu was pub food. started with the clam chowder. Not thick. Flavor was OK. I'm kind of a chowder snob This had a little bit of a tang taste to it. Warm not piping hot, another pet peeve for me. Boyfriend got the steak tips. He upgraded the side for a salad. House salad was excellent. Cranberries. Super fresh. Excellent flavor. I got the baked tic. Upgraded for a Caesar salad. Again huge portion on the salad. Excellent flavor. Garlic mashed with red potatoes. Kind of dry. I actually asked for extra butter to try to make it creamier. Steak tips were supposed to be medium rare. Came out medium. Excellent flavor though. We wanted a "pub" meal this date night, and it was close to where we were shopping, so... why not? If it is atmosphere you are looking for, this ain't the place, but for good food , a cold brew, and a little fun, including an Elvis impersonator (I know, can you believe it?) this is the place. A bar along the Merrimack river, this isn't the place for the kids, but damn, the food was good. We started with loaded potato skins, far more potato than skin, but with gooey cheese and bacon, they were wonderful. She had fish tacos, and me, I had the steak tips. Okay, so the rice pilaf was out of the Near East box, but the tips were excellent. She had onion rings with the tacos that were exceptional!! The draft beers are cold and plentiful. First, the draft list was pretty boring. Just the usual brands. Nothing interesting, unique or inspiring. I went with the only beer I didnt recognize on the list. It was dull, flat and not especially cold. And in a plastic cup? Next, I ordered buffalo wings. Pretty simple. Well, I would call them burnt. And no buffalo flavor to speak of. I haven't posted a review for a while but we continue to come here every two weeks or so. Still consistently very good. Baked haddock and Smothered Chicken Panini tonight. Both very good. Lourdes is gone. Not good. Everything else still seems OK, however. Had a ravioli special, which was pretty good. Hot and gooey, smothered with meat sauce and mozzarella. The experience was nothing short of what I would imagine a Boston pub experience should be. Very local. I almost felt like I was intruding it was so local. Service was excellent. When I walked in, I half expected to be ignored. I wasn't. I was served just as quickly and attentiveness that everyone else was. The burger and fries were solid. The fried pickles weren't great. The potato wedges weren't that good. If I'm ever back in the area, I would like to go back and see if there is any way I'd be able to ingratiate myself with the locals without getting taken out back. read more

Although this could be classified as a local dive bar on the river, the food was outstanding! I got the sirloin tip sub and my friend got the chicken wrap. They both came with french fries. The food was delicious and half off list price for all sandwiches on Wednesday during lunch. Price couldn't be beat. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. Inside isn't so bad, typically pub with a long bar. It was seat yourself, so we sat towards the back incase my babe started to fuss. We got onion rings, potato skins, a burger with fries and a buffalo wrap. All pub style foods but they are prepared with LOVE! Hand sliced, beer battered crispy onion rings! Come on! Potato skins sliced and baked then baked again with cheese, bacon and chives. They were like twice baked potatoes but skin style. My mom said, "these ahhh tha best potato skins I've eva had in my life!" In her true Bostonian accent ‍ Burger was cooked to order and tasted great, fries were hand cut and crispy, and the buffalo wrap was made with Franks sauce. I truly put that s*it on everything. My wife and I have decided to eat at local places, rather than the chains... and we are very glad we tried Muddy Waters! We have lived in the area for eight years, moving from the North Shore. I was craving steak tips, and where we would always go to New Bridge, we have never found anyplace in the area that was close. The waitress, shame on me for not getting her name, was excellent as she reviewed the menu with us and explained they were known for their steak tips. She did not mislead! They were delicious, as well as the hand cut fries (some of the best I have ever had) and the beer battered onion rings. The onion rings were incredibly crispy. My wife ordered the Mac and Cheese, which she thoroughly enjoyed and was topped by just the right amount of breadcrumbs, was a creamy,cheesy delight. Everybody, let's take a moment and applaud, for this is my first Yelp* review! Bow if you would like, because the upcoming review will save you some money, time, and the bad experience associated with this establishment. THE BAD:some app sizes are embarrassingly small; food inconsistent; and slow service THE GOOD: great sized chicken tender app, great waitresses who are very friendly, has karaoke and many TV's to watch. IN DEPTH REVIEW: To begin, I would like to explain that I have been a frequent customer the past 6-8 months. I was immediately impressed with the half priced apps. I would get the steak tips, which are $4 half priced, and they are truly amazing. But, each month, the serving size has gotten smaller, and now you are served an embarrassingly small amount. Yes, it is an app. I understand that, but knowing the difference in serving sizes from 8 months ago to now is concerning. The french fries. Another draw which kept me coming back. Lately, I have gone and been unimpressed because there is a 50/50 chance of getting a batch of overdone starch. The grease, which may be a problem for some, is not a problem for me. There have been some new additions to the menu. Notably, for the appetizers, there are stuffed mushrooms and mac 'n cheese balls. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms today. They brought the dish, with 5 mushrooms the size of quarters. They were good, yes. But, for $7, the serving size was laughable. The garnish in the middle, which was lettuce or something green, does not count as part of the app. It is garnish. My friend, who recently has been on an optimism pledge, was somehow OK with his mac 'n cheese ball being cold, clumpy, and under cook in the middle. For someone who idolizes Chef Gordon Ramsey, I was stunned by his acceptance of his app. I understand that half priced apps can be considered a luxury for customers, slashing prices in order to gain more frequent fliers. But, the portion sizes and the inconsistency which they are served need to be addressed. Why serve these mentioned half priced apps if the portion is something comparable to a kid's menu option? Steak was to our liking, Cajun Chicken and Shrimp was tasty (good amount of cheese!) and the crowd was good. Also ordered delivery from them.... it was okay.
