It's a hit and miss with Larosas. But I'll tell you, when it's a hit, it's a HIT! My favorite is the Buddy Deluxe and hot wings. Man you just can't beat it. Most of the time the servers are pretty good and very attentive, although, there has been a few times it was lacking. I love the atmosphere of Larosas, the low lighting when away from windows, and a welcoming family atmosphere. And I love that Parmesan cheese and hot pepper flakes. Just adds zest to the occasion. Stopped in Alexandria while traveling back home down south. Friend said this was very good pizza. We ordered 2 meat lovers and breadsticks. Had it delivered. I was exited to try it because the hype. Was very disappointed with the crust. It tasted like the crust on a frozen pizza. Was hardly any sauce on the pizzas. The breadsticks were the worst I've ever seen. They look exactly like the breadsticks at Olive Garden but with less taste. The cheese in them was decent. The dipping sauce is all pre made and pre packaged by some company and had a funny taste to it. It was very sweet tasting like it had a bunch of sugar added to it. Maybe this was a fluke but my friend said it always tastes like this. I've honestly have had a better Digiorno frozen pizza than this. Very pathetic and I'm surprised that this company has been in business this long if this is what they serve. read more

Absolutely terrible, every single time we get something wrong with us. The last time they shorted a cookie, they said this time they would include it. It was not included. No teamwork and communication in the kitchen whatsoever clearly. As a former pizza cook at Papa Johns and a fire oven pizzeria I know that it is not a hard job and am highly disappointed in the lack of effort. Done being a regular and consistently being disappointed. Look at this sad excuse of a pizza that was lazily made and came out a mess, they didn't even do the easiest part of making a pizza where they literally only roll a derma-roller looking tool over the dough for air to escape the dough when baking preventing air bubbles. No napkins at all were included & I had to wait another five minutes to get the employees attention back at the window in order to ask for some utensils to use to eat my carry out order. This continues to be in my top echelon of pizzerias. Their pizza, hoagies, appetizers, and pasta dinners are always top notch at every one of their many locations. This particular store is one of their newer locations and is clean and well run. I was feeling pizza on this occasion so I got a thin crust pie with pepperoni and sausage. They put plenty of toppings on there as usual and I really like their sausage in particular. The crust was nice and crispy which is important for a thin crust and they have one of the best red sauces that I know of. Also as an appetizer we tried the Garlic Fries which is one their staples. They are thickish French fries tossed in garlic sauce a topped with parsley flakes. There is also ranch on the side for dipping. A simple and delicious snack while waiting for the pizza. Ordered 2 large pizzas using the website. Used a Buddy Card, so I got one free. Upon arriving at the location I was told I would have to present the Buddy Card so they could swipe it, because they were having system issues. I told them I had put the card number in online and it was at my desk at work. They asked if I could get a picture of it and that would work. Tried several times to get a hold of someone at my work to no avail. Another lady came to the window and I told her that I visit this location 1-2 times per week and no one has ever asked me for my Buddy Card. She told me that I would have to go get it. I asked to speak to a manager. Megan, the manager on duty, came to the window with a smirk on her face. Told me that if I don't have the card, I don't get the deal, but I informed her that I entered the card number & PIN online and have never been asked to produce the card before. She told me it says on the card that you have to bring it with you then she laughed in my face & slammed the window shut on me. I drove back to my office, retrieved the card (that makes no mention of having to present the card at the location) and took it back to the store. Asked for Megan and showed her that the card did not state anywhere on it that it was required at the time of pick-up (several rules were noted on the back of the card). After trying to take the card out of my hand, Megan stated, "Do you want the pizza or not, I'm not going to argue with you." Before I could answer, she slammed the window shut. I had to knock on the window to get someone to come over to refund my money. It was the worst experience I've had at a LaRosa's in over 30 years and if it were possible, I would give this location zero stars. read more

This is a really nice LaRosa's location! It's modern, very clean, and the staff are really nice and accommodating for our large group. The food came out hot and delicious! They were able to make things gluten free for me and were very cautious with my food. My mom ordered the spaghetti-a-plenty and the portion she got was huge compared to what she's gotten at other restaurants. Also, this restaurant has an option for gluten free pizza crust, which not all locations have. I would recommend this place for anyone! read more

This location is hit or miss. We had great service one night when sat close to the bar but horrible service when put in a room off to the back. We ordered meatballs, side salads, a child's pizza and one calzone. We waited 1 hour & 10 min for our food. The only food needing to be cooked was the pizza & calzone. The server was terrible about refilling our drinks and when we asked about our food taking forever & getting some sort of discount or free dessert she said "I wish." Needless to say I took it up with the manager & apparently she's able to grant wishes. 25% was taken off our bill. While I appreciate that, when my children are hungry & then become starving, it makes for a pretty miserable meal. Also, the other server in our area was holding people's checks down his pant waist in the back. He needs to use his apron, that's why servers have them! I'm sorry but that's nasty & not sanitary. This was the first time at LaRosa's pizza. I ordered a original pie hand tossed and a veggie pie hand tossed. Arrived at the location for pickup took about 14 min. The young girl at the pickup window was very professional and I received my order in a very well constructed box. It was hot and smelled great. The pizza was hot and looked like a hand tossed pizza. After tasting the first slice I could tell the sauce and topping were great I mean real good. The crust was ok just wished it would have been a little more crisp and had more of a true Italian taste. However I was very pleased with the pizza and it was built great ie lots of cheese on it. They were so large I could have ordered one. Thanks for the pizza I will be coming back for more. When LaRosa's moved from Alexandria to Cold Spring, they said they would continue to serve their old customers with delivery, and they did for many years. We continued to support this LaRosa's with both pickup and delivery. Both the Cold Spring and Independence locations were a place we enjoyed large family gatherings for birthdays and other celebrations. A week ago, we had delivery to our home. One week later, we were counting on delivery again due to babysitting some small children. Much to our surprise, they informed us that they cut our area off from delivery. No warning, no email (even though we have an account there). I cannot believe this is how they treat their loyal customers of many years. We were told it was a 25 minute drive to our house, which is simply not true. I am sure cutting off delivery to some areas may look good on paper to an accountant, but you are losing the loyalty of our family and our extended family. We will find another restaurant for those family celebrations. read more

The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the food was good. We ordered an appetizer of mozzarella sticks and our drink order. The waitress brought them and basically threw the mozzarella sticks on the table. We placed our order, which was a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was good and hot. Our waitress never came back to check on us to see if we needed more drinks or anything. She finally came back with our check after about 35 to 40 minutes. We will not be back. read more

I ordered my pizzas online using my login and secure password. I used my Buddy Card for my two pizzas. The card is registered in my online account that is secured with a password. The receipt did not indicate that I needed the Buddy Card with me to pick up my order. The restaurant wanted to charge me full price for my order. The website would not allow me to register my Buddy Card if it was not a valid card. LaRosa's is not my Buddy! The customer service stinks and I will not purchase anything from LaRosa's. Well we eat a lot of Larosas!!! This was the worst experience we have ever had and it is safe to say we will not be returning to cold spring larosas!!! We never received half our food, the seating was horrible, we never got refills until after they realized we were mad. When we told the waitress to remove the food from our ticket we didn't get she came back to tell us that she had removed it like she was saving the day and that should make the terrible experience all better! We told them at the front it was the worst experience and they said "ok". Didn't even care...we are done we will go to Newport from now on...done with cold spring Larosas!!! read more

The new LaRosa's is at the top of our street, so my husband and I went once alone and twice with our daughters and some friends within the first 2 weeks they were open for Spaghetti-a-Plenty. The first time our waitress was fabulous! She was on the ball and super friendly. The other two times, we had a couple of the younger waitresses. They were nice enough, but didn't go out of their way. Our third visit was quite sub par. The waitress was super slow and it took us 45 minutes to get our spaghetti. Hopefully as everything gets settled, the wait staff will be a little more on it. The food was good, as usual. So, no complaints there. The one feature of the "new style" LaRosa's, is the bar right in the restaurant itself. No separation from the tables. I can't say I'm a huge fan. It makes me feel like I'm in a pub versus the neighborhood pizzeria, like they want to be known as. Overall, it's not a bad place. It's great for a quick lunch or dinner. read more
