Terrible experience! My husband bought a car from there and 2 weeks later it was overheating and they refused to do anything about it.

Auffenberg Kia - Nice Kia markup. New buildings and the same screw the customer attitude

Disappointed Two-Time Buyer - Radio Silent Until Threatened with a Return…read more I am a returning customer who previously had a great experience with Auffenberg, but their post-sale communication has completely deteriorated. I recently purchased a used 2015 Toyota Highlander. Within my contractually guaranteed 7-day return window, an independent multi-point inspection revealed a failing alternator, a bad battery an alignment issue. I contacted my sales consultant, Joshua, immediately to see if management would utilize their internal service department to address these electrical components to save the transaction. The dealership completely ignored my messages for days, hoping the clock would run out on my 7-day return policy. Only after I explicitly stated I was preparing to return the vehicle did I finally get a response. The used car manager's solution? They completely ignored the failing alternator and alignment issues, and offered the "goodwill gesture" of selling me a replacement battery at their cost. Shifting the financial burden onto a loyal repeat customer for a failing charging system during a trial window is an insulting way to do business. I declined their offer, kept the vehicle because the core engine is solid, and will be paying my local mechanic to fix it. They have officially lost a loyal customer's future business.

My…read morehusband and I regrettably went back to Kia Auffenberg under a time crunch to repurchase a new vehicle. Auffenberg refused to honor the price we paid November 2024 for the exact same vehicle, 1 year 2 months later. Mind you, this would be the 3 vehicles previously purchased from them, and zero care or consideration given. Not to mention, Steve- working at Kia, is the most unprofessional and rude sales person there. I would recommend working with someone else entirely if you even attempt car shopping. He doesn't air out after chain smoking outside, and he will call you stupid if he doesn't understand what you're talking about. He is not professional, and I would be embarrassed to have Steve work for any business of mine. Just because he can sell you a car doesn't mean it's worth the reputation Auffenberg is creating with people like Steve. With that all said, three separate and equally awful experiences with Auffenberg in 2023, 2024, and again January 2026. We learned our lesson - do not buy there or you'll be met with predatory practices. We were literally discouraged to leave a review unless it was good because it only directly affects the sales people who worked with us. Steve needs to be fired, and Auffenberg should really have better business practices. I hope our next brand new car purchasing experience is better than what Auffenberg failed to provide on three separate occasions. Our community deserves better!

So it had to be taken to a Ford dealer needless to say I did not get my car back until the end of March 2025. In July of 2025 the starter goes out. I called and talked to Madison and explained it to her. Made an appointment for the following Monday at 1. My son and husband put it in my son's trailer and took it out there. On Monday around 3 I called Madison to see if they figured it out. She says did you try to jump it. I told her no the battery was brand new which I also told her on the phone. She called me back an hour later and tells me it's the starter she can get it in by noon on Tuesday and it will be finished by the end of the day. Tuesday at 3:45 I call to see if it was done and I was told no. That it probably won't be done until Wednesday. I told her that it had to be done that day. I called back and left a message for vic Koenig to call me and needless to say I am still waiting. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN TO PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE

Myself and my husband looked over the 2008 Pontiac Torrent. And decided that we would purchase the truck at that time. Due to JALC starting classes in the Fall, and I would be a returning student. Bill.G. had informed us that the truck some times open and sometimes not with the truck's remote. He also preceeded to inform us that the truck had one owner whom was elderly. And that the "only" problem that the truck had was that the driver actuator switch needed to be replaced. Bill. G. informed me and my husband that he and the mechanics was aware of the problem. And that by replacing the driver side door handle would fix the issue. It didn't as we found out later that evening. We all agreed upon a price of $5500 and that there was a limited warranty of up to fifteen day. Now keep that fifteen day mark in you mind. The limited warranty covered the engine, axle, water pump, you get my drift. Again, keep the items that in ONLY covered in you mind as well. So everything was going really well up intil this past Saturday 20th of June 2020. Myself and my family was enjoying an outting in Marion, Il that evening. The sky started turinging dark, the wind became very gusty. Blowing around outside chairs and tables so we decided to head back home to Carbondale, Il. The ABS light came on and the anti tractionskid sensor came on. I understood why the anti traction came on due to the gusty winds. The ABS light and the anti traction was still on and we didn't understand why. Upon reading the cars manual to reset the ABS and the anti traction. To no avail did the trucks reset fix the now new issues. So this past Monday withing the 15 days, I was willing to part ways with the truck. Because taking my truck to my certified mechanic, it was not the driver side actuator that was causing the issue but an electrical one. So no, my husband nor myself was told of that issue while discussing the truck. And the ABS light and the anti traction needed to be serviced now at this point. So the service dept said that the problems that I was having was not covered under warranty. So I asked to speak to Bill .G. But he was too busy to answer my question, If I could return the truck. Or was I know stuck with the truck now displaying new problems. Bill. G. couldn't be bothered to answer my questions but asked another associated to do it for him. I was told that Auffenburg would only fix the problems if I paid them for the services. And because the registraion was now in my name. And no longer in the name of Auffenburg. That it was no longer their problem but now mine and my husband's. Granted I'm still well within my 15 days of warranty. So a collegue of mine told me about a situation that her white female friend had with Auffenburg. Now here we have two working women, paid the vehicles in full but I was black and she was white. Her co-worker had purchased a newer mustang at Auffendburg of Carbondale, Il. The white female after three days had problems with the mustang acceleration. The mustang wouldn't accelerate over 15 miles to or from any destination. Now the same warranty that was given to me was also given to this young lady. She contacted her saleperson and discussed her issue and Auffenburg. Heard her whoes, and Fixed this young lady's mustang at NO COST TO HER. Her sales man called her severa days later asking if she wa having any further issues with her new car(used). But I was told to pay for my whoes that were already there. So my observation is that we were not treated in the same manner due to out race but not our professions. A co-worker was looking to buy a car at Auffenburg but decided against it. Because if that could happen to me, then she was no exception. I talked to several professionals and they too was looking for a car. But decided that Auffenburg of Carbondale would not be a car dealership to do business with. The saying goes, it's not what you know BUT who you know. We was considering trading in our Rendezvous for another truck at Auffenburg of Carbondale. I wouldn't care of the truck was absolutely free. We will never do business with Auffenburg of Carbondale again. Because my mama always said, " Just because it's free doesn't mean you have to take it." Auffenburg may be ok with this lost, but my experience cost you even more business. If you can't treat everyone with dignity and respect. Then consider trading jobs or better yet learn interpersonal skills.
