This company should be known to anyone looking to get boots that may have little to no experience. What roped me in was a sale that they did not give when I came in. I ended up feeling stuck because they take an initial 49$ to start so they can treat you like shit the entire time your there and make up whatever price they want knowing that your here so you'll buy it kind of thing. They had no boots in my size and I felt at a point that the business sucked so bad I wanted to have them fit my boot and then leave. I felt like the main guy having a huuuuumungous wart over his eye he would grow to have a little compassion. No, dude was piece of shit and so was everyone else. If your looking to pay 49 $ so your stuck with them steering a one boot while ripping you off with horrible customer service not giving an advertised sale while trying to play im not staring at this ridiculous wart on your face game. You don't know what you are missing if you have never been fitted properly. Larry's passion is skiing, but he loves what he does every day at his shop. Very few things in life live up to the hype - but Larry's does. There is basically everything to love about this place - commitment from employees, excellent prices and a vibe of authenticity which is slowly leaving retail. You get pricing comparable to the big dogs with a level of service and technical expertise typically reserved for only the highest end of price points. I recently moved to the Denver area from the East and was in need of a new set up for the extreme change in skiing conditions. I was a little skeptical until I began talking to a man who patrolled Vail for ten years and as of right now is on his quest to hike and ski at the Colorado 14ers. ​ I have been very impressed with these professionals. I say professionals because that's what they are. They know this industry straight up and they're just as focused as getting their customers in the right boots as they are with their own feet. It's busy because they're the best (so bring a book, patience, and some jokes). I wanted to respect Caley's time so I explained my situation in as little time and words as possible but he interrupted me, "Let's start with the most important thing...what's your name?" That first sentence triggered a trust and belief in his work. He did a phenomenal job getting my boots from way too tight to being covered in magical fairy dust to a great fit! He was patient and kind, even though there were many customers waiting. Everyone receives the attention they need. Since the initial fitting, Ian has done a fantastic job ensuring that every aspect of the boot fits my foot, realizing the importance of having comfortable boots for hours in the backcountry. Those guys are totally local superheroes...I'm certain they wear capes in the back of the shop. I experienced a very unfortunate situation in the shop today during which a lady expressed her frustration loudly towards employees. I wish I had talked to her about my experience there and expressed my sorrow for whatever is going on in her life that triggered her to lash out like she did. The employees have enough confidence in their work that they knew that every other customer in there had their backs. Hopefully she realizes how wrong she was and her life goes much better. I would echo other reviews here. Terrible service. Long wait to get fitted, no explanation of how their system works, if they have a system. Got boots anyway and needed to leave my skis to have bindings remounted. One employee told me that was included with boot price, then I was later charged $50. Estimate to remount bindings was 2-3 days, but no one called or texted, so I called them to check status and no one answered the phone all day (day after a holiday). No voice mail message box provided. If you like very expensive boots and very poor customer service, this is your place. read more

I bought my boots here two years ago and have come in twice for refitting. They did a great job. Ian helped me out and you can tell how much he cares about his job and getting the fit right. Getting boots here saved me from having to buy a new pair, which I was on the verge of after getting some hardware put in my leg/ankle. Appointments are helpful but they were able to see me within 15 minutes of just walking in without one. I would recommend an appt though. read more

We have been to Larry's twice. Once for my boots and another time for my spouse's boots. If you come in during lunch, Larry buys you pizza. If you come in during happy hour, Larry gives you a beer. If you happen to have studied politics or rhetoric in school, Larry chats you up. If you come in without an appointment, don't expect immediate service (in fact, even if you have an appointment--patience). You will receive special attention once they come to you. Don't be turned off if you walk in and just linger for a while, someone will eventually get to you (but it might be a 15-min/hour or so wait. It's worth the wait! They guarantee their fittings and I love my fitted boots! I've been skiing them since 2012. read more

I've been skiing for many years. I'm also fortunate to have the opportunity to ski 60-70 day a year. I have visited many ski shops that claim to be very experienced in the art of boot fitting. I alway sincerely give each boot fitting professional the chance to inspect my feet and prescribe a plan on how to get the boots to not only fit well, but more importantly allow me to reach my potential as a skier. Larry's shop is exactly what everyone claims them to be. Everyone knows larry is exceptional at what he does but his employees are also exceptional at boot fitting. I was hoping larry himself would work with me but after meeting Evan I was confident I was exactly were I needed to be. He is very knowledgeable about which boots should end up on who's feet. He not only made both pairs of my boots fit well he truly made me feel that making my boots fit perfectly was as important to him as it was to me, at times even more important to him. Amazing commitment to best thing for each customer. I went in with a terrible pair of boots from another seller -- that they had tried 20 time to fit for me. I told Larry I wanted to start from scratch -- and they told me the damage on the boots done by the other fitters warranted a full return and refund. "We could fit you in a new pair of boots, but they should give you a much better deal with those counting toward the purchase." Larry's team sent me back with a note to the other boot seller saying that I deserved the price of the boots as a credit to the next pair. I can't believe this is how commerce works in this day and age--- but the original store read the note, inspected the workshopmanship done by their fitters, and agreed. Promptly left and drove up to Boulder. Quality work, quick, and great prices. Easily the best boot fitters in Colorado. I took two pairs of boots in -- they fit them both perfectly (performance fit too, not just a gaping fit for comfort), and any additional work I need is free. read more

Walk in there, tell him what you like to ski, he'll look at your feet, and then you can see the rolodex of ski boots turning through his mind, as he then recommends the perfect pair or two for your feet and your ski style (whether it's race, advanced, groomers, backcountry, or beginner). Even if you just need to improve your current boots, he can work wonders with shaping hot spots from the shell, adjustments or custom footbeds. Larry is a god among bootfitters. I bought boots from him quite a few years ago and have stopped in multiple times for tweaks from both him and Barry. A couple weeks ago I came in for new liners but my boots are shot so Larry worked on them a bit to try to get me through this season. I tried to pay him but if you buy your boots from Larry tune ups are always free. Always a fun place to hangout and anytime I was charged for something it was very reasonable. I highly recommend getting footbeds made with your new boots, it's a game changer. Can't say enough good things about this place. I purchased my first boots based on their recommendations last year. This season, my boots were feeling tight due to the thickness of the liner. The staff at Larry's recommended custom liners b/c the tongue of the liner was taking up so much space in my boot. They molded my liners and now my boots are 100x more comfortable. Plus, Larry and the other staff members are always kind and attentive even when busy. They take the time to help you and are always happy to see you back. And if you're ankles or feet are challenging for some reason, or you bring in used boots from craigslist that need to be reworked, Larry and his crew go the extra mile and give you great advice while doing it. I will preface this by noting that Larry himself was not in the shop the day I visited so if Larry's is great because of Larry that may explain it. Regardless, if not Larry personally, this review reflects his employees and the way he runs his business. I should also note that I took in a pair of brand new boots I had purchased at another local shop. I merely wanted to work with an expert fitter to make them as comfortable as possible. First off, on the recommendation of their website I called ahead to make an appointment and was told they had two availabilities, both several days out. They took my name and contact number, but when I arrived there was no receptionist or really anyone paying attention to who walked in the door, so I just stood at the counter until I was noticed. I was then told "take a seat anywhere" and someone will be with you. Not a huge deal but honestly, why do they bother taking appointments if that's how they're going to work it? After waiting while the tech helped another customer, he came over to me and asked if they were sold out of my size, implying they sold the same boots but noting that I had not purchased them there. He pulled the liner out of one boot, had me put my foot in, and did what seemed to me a very cursory check. Literally within a second he told me in no uncertain terms that I needed a size smaller and I should return them. Had he asked me why I was there, which he did not, he would have learned that the boots actually felt very snug, even a bit tight in spots. I should also mention that before buying these I visited two reputable ski shops in the area (not chain stores), both took the time to actually measure my foot, and both recommended the size I ultimately bought. I explained all this but apparently my opinion was irrelevant and he flat out told they would never fit right and he could not help me. Needless to say, my boots, my money, and I all walked out the door. I will not be returning the boots nor will I be returning to Larry's. As an aside: when you arrive at the location what you'll find is a business called "Larry's Boot and Ski" not "Larry's Bootfitting" as it ubiquitously appears online. Perhaps if you purchase your boots there the fitting option is more forthcoming. read more

The team here knows boot fitting as well as anyone in the business - at least that's my opinion after 45+ years around the ski biz - both as a consumer as well as one who worked in it. They really try to understand the problem and not make generalizations or assumptions of boot problems. Really a patient crew. Unlike another shop in town that we visited 5 separate times to get this latest issue resolved, where they gave me one idea one time (like, it just needs to pack in some more - after 12 full days of skiing!!!) and contradictory information at other times (they were basically just guessing) - the crew at Larry's asked the right questions, and continually worked on things over the next (almost) 90 minutes to continually try changes until things were right. This shop is focused on boots and getting the right ones and the right fit. Most other "mass market" shops simply don't have the time, patience, or skills to do this as their main line business. Sure, other shops do have great bootfitters, but it's a a crapshoot there - you may get that right person at the big shop, you might not. Not with Larry's - true pros. read more
