Recently in town for the holidays and instead of cooking a big dinner, we opted for a meal out. My partner, being from the area immediately yelled out "Larry's Subs!" and the short trek from Macon to Bonaire began. This particular location is located off of Highway 96 in an older shopping center that sits in the middle of a lot of newer developments. It shares the center with a nail salon, furniture store and a few other shops/eateries. From what I was told, this location has expanded in the last several years, this is evident by the dual entries - ones takes you into the dining area, the other puts you directly at the counter. This being said, the seating is plentiful and with this extra space they have two beverage, as well as chip rack locations. Larry's is an old school style sub shop through and through, so outside of the ole "order at the counter, take a number" type of vibe, the decor and set up scream old city sub shop. It's a weathered place for sure, they haven't tried to keep up with the times and I think that works to their advantage. Now, on to the subs...I personally had The Animal, which is a hot sub that features ham, turkey and provolone cheese. I opted to add bacon, because...why not? I 86'd a few things that come on the sub like tomatoes and onions and overall it was quite a tasty sub. Per usual, the meal comes with your choice of side and a drink, and they even throw a good size pickle spear on there for you! Overall, the sub was good, the service was friendly and the experience was solid. It didn't blow me away, but it definitely hit the spot! Larry's makes a good sub! Way better than Subway or any chain, Larry's meat and fresh ingredients is what separates them from the rest. Their menu is pretty vast as well. In addition to cold subs, you can get a variety of hot as well. Prices are a little higher than chain sub shops but it's worth it. I got the turkey club and the bread was delicious, the bacon was crisp and the turkey fresh sliced. Would go here again when in town! read more

Larry's is just progressively getting worse and worse. The employees treat you like you're inconveniencing them whenever you ask for certain things. Also half of the seating area is blocked off not because of Covid but because of the employees being too lazy to clean mop or wanting to take out trash on that side of the restaurant. So what's lead to is about 15 people standing at the front counter waiting to order with no clue of how or where the end of the line is and about another 20 sitting in there eating it's so crowded it's ridiculous. Plus if you're on a lunch break and you were on a limited time frame can you call in your order ahead of time you can't pick it up because there's no clear marking of the line I literally just left my food order and walked out. I am really disappointed You're charging $15 for a large sub combo and the customer service is just garbage it's not there. read more

My husband and I love this place! We eat here at least once a week for lunch and once or twice a week for dinner. We call ahead and make our order so we don't have to wait. The only thing is that the sandwich makers do not make them all the same. Sometimes the Mighty Mitch is dry and sometimes it is perfect ( and we ask for everything on it); the other sandwich we get is the New York Special. Sometimes they chop the meat and sometimes they slice the meat. It's much better chopped but I was informed that you have to request that the meat be chopped. So it all depends on who is working in the kitchen that day. But regardless, it's always good! read more

Consistently delicious! Fresh ingredients, great service. Doesn't get any better! I usually order the sausage and peppers sub (I get mine without marinara), but occasionally I stray from the norm and order something different. I have never been disappointed! The pastrami Ruben is super yummy! My daughter who is 6 really loves the meatball sub, but the turkey and cheese is just as good. I used to love getting my turkey subs from Larry's! I don't know if they've hired new help or what, but this is the third time we've ordered and it's just been bland. Our sandwiches were so dry and the bread was hard. I love the oil and vinegar but all three times after I've requested it's been left off and the lettuce is wet. Not a lot a meat on the subs either. Last night I tried Larry's Subs and it was great! My husband had the Ultimate sub and loved it. I had the Chicken Cesar Salad with bacon and it was yummy. Service was good and fast.
