The restaurant had less than 5 customers when we arrived. The section they seated us in was completely empty. We were seated at a booth. One of the vinyl benches had a large hole, about 18 inches by 9 inches with pealing vinyl edges and filthy fabric sticking out. I asked if we could have another booth without a ripped seat. Two women were present and said "we can't, all the seats are ripped". This was not true. I looked at the surrounding seats and saw all were intact. I will never go to this restaurant again. Turkey big deal sandwich was good. would have liked two packs of mayo and more than one slice of tomato. I was told they didn't have any more mayo - the truck had not come in. I was disappointed that the sweet potato was not sweet at all and it had a black hard place in it that I cut out. my wife and I haven't been to this Sonny's in half a year because previous times service has been excruciating slow, but this time they were pretty quick serving us although we did wait four minutes before being seated. I stopped in about a month ago to order food for 20 guests on Memorial Day weekend as we were celebrating my 90-year-old father's birthday. We needed good food, simply setup and cleanup as well. Robert Jones (Mgr) took my order and I double-checked the order on Saturday to ensure we would be ready the next day. We ordered brisket, Chicken on the bone, and pulled pork. All of the food was excellent and I heard from many of the guests about the quality of the food. We also don't have many leftovers, which was a good sign to me. I have been driving past this place for a year and I finally broke down and came in to order a "to-go" I was unbelieveably disappointed. Let's start with my order. I ordered a full rack of baby back ribs with green beans and potato salad. The baby back ribs were dry, (overcooked ans re-heated???) And my potato salad was not even in my order, I was given baked beans.... I don't eat beans so that was a sad situation as both aspects of that meal were ruined. Then there's the chopped brisket... Which I will honestly say was delicious, but I ordered the dinnner portion and what I got looked more.like a child's portion. All-in-all it cost over $40 and I feel like I received $25 value worth of food. How does a place justify that price for such mediocre output. I'm just sad. I truly hoped I had found a place I could order delicious smoked meat for my long military flights and what I got was just... Sad. I dont know if I'll go back and give this place another chance. The lady who took my order was wonderful y'all need to keep her, however the food was the worst we have ever had at a Sonny's. The pulled pork was not pulled at all, just dumped one clump in the container, the fries were over cooked and very salty. This will be the last time I go through the drive thru. Ordered a large order last week. The mgr didn't offer his assistance at all as he stood by the door and no one wanted to help me out until I offered money. For 75 people I got 5 pans potatoes 24 potatoes in each pan, way too much! 1 pan of chicken, 1 pan of Mac n cheese, 1 slaw, 2 pork pans. They can never tell you how much. It goes by weight they say. I ran out of chicken!! The potatoes weigh a ton. The ice tea and lemonade was sealed but it's spoiled now. I would have thought that would have lasted. Our slaw was spoiled 2 days later. It was old!!! Customer service sucks and I will tell everyone of the horrible service. I've contacted cooperate but they don't give a shit about their customers because no one called me back. Met an old friend here for a quick lunch and found it to be a wonderful little BBQ joint. With a spacious dining room and great service, Sonny's offers a great place to enjoy some Georgia BBQ. This review is for Sonny's BBQ on Russell parkway. This place has gone way down hill. I called and I was put on hold for 20 minutes. Then I hung up and called back and different person answered the phone and took my order right away and was polite. I ordered pint size sides. The slaw was haf full and the banana pudding was in a pint size cup with being a single serving put in the cup. The banana pudding was old. The banana were rotten and the vanilla wafers way stale. The quality of this food has gone way down and the service as well. I have been told there has been a change in management. This place will close down if this is at indication of how this place will serve customers. Old food and bad service a cheating customers on quantity. I stopped in for lunch with coworkers at the suggestion of one of them that lives near here (I was in town for training). This place did not disappoint and I have eaten at my fair share of BBQ places. The waitress was amazing answering all our questions and even helped me find exactly what I was looking for in a lunch option. I wanted the hot links as a lunch option, but didn't see it. So she worked it out to get it for me and just rang it up like pulled pork. It was great with just the right amount of heat (it has jalapeño and cheese in them). I opted to try the macaroni and cheese and apples and cinnamon with garlic bread. I ate it all and was very satisfied. Nothing was too heavy, greasy or dry (sometimes BBQ can be dried out). In Georgia for a wedding and on our way back to Atlanta from Statesboro, we stopped in Warner Robins to check out the Aviation Museum. The gang was getting hungry so we stopped at Sonny's BBQ! Your signage in the drive thru states that you close at 9:35pm on Sundays-Thursdays and 10:05pm on Fridays-Saturdays. We have lived here in Warner Robins for 24 years transferred in from Texas this is the closest Texas barbecue we can come to close to it's a national train we know that. But the local employees make it special. They're always so attentive and right there when we need a glass filled or something else ordered. I loved it when I put in the drive through window that was fantastic during covid we were missing our Sonny's BBQ as we have age we know go for the senior plates for lunch plates Sonny's is wonderful about substitutions and suggestions their employees have wonderful ideas. We have been to Sonny's in deland Florida and Dade City Florida in Atlanta Georgia we find our Warner Robins Sonny's down home easy to relax. It may be true for the people that live in those cities but we didn't feel so relaxed and well taken care of. In the Warner Robins sunnies BBQ we feel at home and will taking care of every time we go. How about once a month and on special occasions date night anniversary birthdays. read more

This restaurant has a very country feel. As you walk in and look around, it's a little plain but not too plain. It has plenty of seating and ample space, so you definitely do not feel cramped at all. We were seated and almost immediately our waitress took our drink order. She was very attentive and had no problem making suggestions, which really helped us make good decisions. The BBQ was good but a little dry and unfortunately they put BBQ sauce on the brisket (pretty much blasphemy for Texans). Everyone at the table enjoyed most of their sides. The pasta in the mac and cheese was over cooked and mushy and the green beans had no flavor. It also came with cornbread, which was very good. We all had iced tea (very good and fresh brewed) and the glass was huge (see the pic). We will probably not go back, so we cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

Let me start by saying ALL i did was go through the drive through at lunch. It was a long wait, as this appears by all that I can surmise, that this place fancies itself a sit-down joint. No problem. I would gladly have come in and sat down would I have had more time. The problem was that the drive-through took too long. Don't have a drive through if you're a sit-down joint. Another problem is the awkward "tip" line on the receipt for a DRIVE-THOUGH. It's like your window person is a begger, and you're supposed to be PAYING him (or her, but it was a him) enough to not request free money from people IT'S UNDIGNIFIED to beg, and even moreso to beg when you have a job. Tips are voluntary, and no, nobody made me tip, but IT IS AWKWARD to have a tip line on the receipt, and even moreso at the drive though. DON'T DO THAT!! Don't blame the "point of sale" vendor because that's all they have to offer. Don't blame the culture, because YOU'RE contributing to the breakdown. STOP DOING THIS! All we ordered was drinks because he was supposed to make my lunch good from complaining about a month ago after receiving a telephone call from him. Never did come to the table so we just got up and left and went down the street to Mexican again. I will use this example on Robin's Air Force Base if training lean and six sigma of how a business can promise but don't deliver and the output of a customer never going back telling others not to go and telling and training others not to go. It's just the word of mouth. That's what makes a business. And it seems like Brad and Sonny's outings barbecue at Warner robins. Don't care. I've been eating at Sonny's BBQ since 1985 in Warner robins complain many a times. Never have I gotten an email or a phone call except for last month from Robert. The manager promise me that he would make my lunch good. How can you do that Robert? My family and I've been twice in as many weeks. The food is good.... ... when you finally get it. The restaurant isn't crowded and it took 50 minutes to get your food which is the standard fare on both occasions. The wait staff is awful and indifferent. They could care less if you come back. Meanwhile 10 people including the manager are standing around shooting the breeze like there's nothing to do. Who's running the kitchen? Brad Fink you need to go in at night to observe and clean house and start over with your night crew. This is no way to run a business. These people are going to cost you your business. Sonny's is a solid 4 stars. Definitely the best BBQ in Warner Robins. Whenever I have eaten here, I have been warmly welcomed by the hostess and the smell of good food makes it hard to turn away. When it comes to service, it is expedient and attentive. The servers are professional and make sure you are taken care of. If you have any questions, they are knowledgable. The food is very good. I have had the pulled pork and it is on point--tender and delicious, especially if you put one of the 4 of the BBQ sauces on it. The ribs are great too. They make a killer Brunswick Stew that is worth trying, not over rice, but good just the same. The sides are decent, but the meats are definitely the stars of the show. The waitstaff was good and we were immediately seated at a nice big booth. They brought beer quickly and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered Sonny's platter and it came with smoked ham, brisket, chicken (I got dark meat), ribs, garlic bread or cornbread (I ended up with both) and two sides which I picked fries and homemade Mac and Cheese. They only have bottled beer and it's all the gross major chain types. Pretty much all the meats were dry. The brisket was less so and the chicken was pretty moist. All the meats with exception of the smoked pork were tender. The home made mac and cheese tasted like they loaded it up with melted slices of American cheese and while I believe in Truth, Justice and the American Way, American cheese is definitely not the way...The garlic bread was good and tasted like a typical slice of garlic bread. The French fries tasted like they could have come out of an oven and were just ok. The only thing that tasted amazing was the cornbread muffin. I could have eaten 10 of those things. Thankfully I had that last and it was a nice note to end on. Overall I'd rate this place a 3.5. read more

Personally this is my favorite BBQ place. I was a vegetarian for 12 years but over the past year I've started to devour *good* meat. Sonny's is one of those places that I will happy go to eat meat, good meat. Their pulled pork on texas toast is just awesome, and I could sit and eat their ribs all day. I actually quite enjoy the choice of having a salad bar (the only way I could eat there over the past years) but now I love having the balance between meat and greens. There's nothing wrong with having a great salad to complement your entree. This location has quite a few TV's along the walls and it's a nice place to sit and watch a football game (what we did). You can eat slowly and they have some different options of all you can eat chicken and the unlimited salad bar. The servers are really friendly and I saw a few sit down and talk with other customers, most likely regulars. Overall 5 stars because of the amazing quality and taste (and awesome sauces) and their banana pudding that tasted just like my Nana's. read more
