We loved this little local coffee shop. We were visiting Carson City for the weekend and we stopped here every morning. They offer a 32oz iced latte which is exactly what my daughter and I need when we are traveling. Our favorite was the Cinnamon caramel white mocha with oat milk. But we also tried the Caramel House and the Butter Run which were delicious. The highlight though was the customer service provided by the team members working at Larry's. They were the sweetest bunch, so kind, helpful, and with amazing recommendations. And they remembered us each day...making us feel like regulars. If we ever make our way to or through Carson it again, we will definitely be stopping by. read more

I recently started working in Carson City and have been making it a goal to try more local coffee shops outside of Reno. I first heard about Larry's Gourmet Coffee through Katherine F. (@lovingreno775 on Instagram) and was excited to stop by! I used the drive-thru and was greeted with friendly service. I ordered an iced butter rum latte for myself, an iced raspberry mocha for my husband, and one of their chocolate-dipped biscotti. The raspberry mocha was the standout for me, with a rich, deep flavor that really came through. My butter rum latte was good, but a bit milkier than I would have hoped for. The one thing that gave me pause was the price. At about $9 for a medium drink, it felt a little steep. That said, I appreciate supporting local businesses, and I was happy to learn that they use organic coffee. I've also heard they make their own chai, which definitely has me interested in coming back to give it a try Overall, a solid local coffee stop with friendly service and some unique offerings. Coffee was just average. The AI art that carries their online presence is offputting and added a sense of laziness to the decor. Paying $9 for an iced coffee with cream and trying to be upsold from that price point sealed the deal for me to never come back. Heading down the street to Old World is your best bet. We wanted to try a new coffee place on our way through Carson City, and Larry's came across our radar. The nice Barista told us they make all the creamer in house, which is cool. She was very nice and answered our one million questions with a smile. It is quite empty inside, but lots of branded stuff on the counters. They should spice up the inside colors or put in a couple two top tables or something. We ordered the dust devil and the lime raspberry renegade energy. She asked if we needed any adjustments to our drinks and really made sure that we were totally satisfied. I am sad reno doesn't have a location for Larry's, but i have a secret place to go to in carson VC or dayton. We will be back to support this local friendly operation. read more

I have seen this little shop and I have been wanting to try it. I went and went through the drive through. The girl working was very nice and took my order almost immediately. It appeared she was the only one working. Helping some inside and me outside. I did have to wait some time to get my coffee but it was understandable. I ordered a cinnamon caramel white mocha. It was a little more priced than I wanted to pay. $8 for a large. The coffee was ok but not as good as I was anticipating for the price. I will still go back and try something else. But the service and kindness of the worker is the main reason ill be going back! read more

We were driving through Carson city and we saw Larry's. We love trying out local spots and boy oh boy! Larrys did not disappoint! We tried the butter rum and cinnamon white mocha. They were soooooo good. They make the creamer in house and you can taste the difference. Had to go into work into Carson and decided to try out this coffee stop during lunch! This place is a little grab and go station where you order at the window and they give you your drink without you having to get out of the car. There is a big menu display next to the window with a variety of drinks and flavors. The lady who took my order was very friendly and introduced me to the menu. She let me know that if I had any questions to let her know. I was pretty sold on their cinnamon caramel white mocha after she told me that's one of their popular signature drinks. It was a drink that I've never tasted before so bonus points for a unique drink! It is in the sweeter end but you can still taste the strong coffee taste. I went out of my way to patronize an independent coffee shop, and about lost my tongue and the back of my throat to third degree burns. This guy does not know what he is doing. Let the empty lobby and empty drive-thru speak for themselves. I should have ran to the ER/health authorities for scalding my mouth. Not a joke!! Let alone, a civil lawsuit. The time involved, hiring an attorney, and proving the temperature since it is not automated, et cetera, I took into account. However, beware. Keep a digital thermometer in hand, so it doesn't happen to you! Moreover, the large latte tasted as if it had a half of a shot of espresso (1 tablespoon) to 18 ounces or so of milk. This little shop was one of the first drive through coffee places in Carson. It was owned by previous people and was a great asset. Larry the most recent owner is a terrific guy with his quirky hat and mustache and beard and a very winning personality. Their appreciation of fine coffee and interesting beverages including chocolates and teas sets it apart from the other coffee places. The teen and I decided to try the new coffee place after school. The menu is fun and diverse, but we chose plain old lattes. We were asked how sweet we wanted them, then we received a sample of our pending drink to ensure it was adequate. Lovely lattes! Larry (I believe it was Larry) informed us that although they aren't the least expensive, they strive for high quality, organic, homemade, local products and a high-end, old-fashioned experience. I tried Larry's place one time years ago in Dayton and had a great impression but never go to Dayton so when I heard he was opening a coffee shop in Carson I was ecstatic because I love local coffee shops and as long as it's good I will support. I have already gone twice before work and have gotten the iced caramel house. Delicious! Another thing for me is the service, I don't care how good a place can be but if the service sucks I won't support. The service is great, definitely felt welcomed and it felt like Larry is trying to genuinely get to know his customers. I think larry needs a big flashy sign so everyone can go and try the coffee!!! I get that this is a drive up coffee kiosk. I ordered a 12oz Americano for 5.50, which for me is already the most expensive 12oz Americano in all of Carson City. As it was pouring, I asked for a touch of heavy cream. The man who made my drink, pours my shot into the cup on top of what I'll assume to be the water and cream and then puts my drink under a steam wand... not how I would have made it, but whatever. He then brings it to me and says that will be 6.99. I said 7 bucks for an americano? And he says the heavy cream is extra. Personally, it would have been nice to know up front. The drink was not hot. The taste was burnt and bitter - not my style of espresso at all. Looking at the coffee bags on the counter, they were a dark roasted Indonesian - not my preference. I can't imagine what any drink with actual ingredients costs at this place. I will skip this in the future, and unless you like a really burnt tasting coffee, I'd advise you to go elsewhere. read more
