We've had Larry's Tree Care remove trees for years. Always did a great job for reasonable rate. Today, they came out to assess a tree. The tree is fine and they didn't charge a service call. Last month we had them trim the fruitless mulberry and also cut some wood we had into fireplace sizes. I was so pleased - they even took responsibility for removing leaves that fell into the pool as they trimmed the branches. Again, reasonable price for all the work. I called March 3rd to see if I can get an estimate to have a tree cut down. He came out to do an estimate and I agreed to it. He said he can probably come out the next, I said ok. But I didn't hear from him at all. Come Saturday March 5th I hear this loud noise & look out the window & these guys are cutting down the tree. They didn't bother to knock on the door to confirm if I still wanted the tree cut. I could have found a better estimate and changed my mind. I let them finish the job and paid them. The next day I noticed I had a leak from the water sprinkler line being cut. I called to see if they would come out to fix it and was told they don't guarantee the work cause they don't know where the sprinkler line are. But he'll have someone come to look at it. No one ever showed up. I had to pay some one $110 to fix their mess up. The next time I hire someone better believe it'll be someone that guarantee their work. I pay all this money to have a service done only to have to turn around to pay some more money to fix the mess up. read more

I have used Larry's several times to trim my 50 foot tree in the front yard in the past 18 years. I have used others too, and each time, I was reminded why I should use Larry's. His men did a great job thinning out the huge canopy and reshaping the limb structure for future growth. His team was right on time this morning and did an excellent job of cleaning up the job site. I used Larry's Tree Service for the first time on Monday They trimmed a tree in my front yard as well as all my trees in the backyard They showed up on time, did a fantastic job on trimming my trees and cleaning up after themselves when finished I told them I wanted trees cleaned up and pruned, but to leave as much shade as they could for me, but still making the trimming worth while I was being very picky in how I wanted my tree in the front pruned They started on a tree on a tree in the backyard first, once I noticed what a great job he did on that tree , I told him to go ahead and do what he wanted with the trees. I trusted his judgement since he did such a good job on the first tree When he got to the front yard , he called me outside to show me a limb that he thought needed to be cut since there was a large crack in it. This was possibly going to leave a small whole in the overall look in the leaves/branches, so he wanted to check with me first to let me make the decision as to whether I wanted it cut off or not I was very pleased with the job they did, and would definitely hire them again to take care of my trees!! read more

We hired them to remove a huge 45 yr. old un-grafted Paradox walnut tree in our ranch courtyard. Their equipment was top notch, the 2-man team had it down to a science, and the guy who climbed that tree to take it down limb by limb was part high wire act, part roping cowboy, part lumberjack, part surgeon, critical thinker and daredevil all rolled into one! When completely down, they ground the stump out. All limb drop controlled by rope. No damage to anything. So, as devastated as we were to lose this masterpiece to disease, it was quite a ceremony seeing it come down! read more

They 1st picked up, then said for me to provide them all the information (he requested it via texting), and when I did, he said they will send it, BUT I never got it. Then I waited for 2 months to go by and they picked up again, this time I still asked for my receipt and for them to thin out a tree on my property, they said they would call, and now NOTHING STILL. We called Larry about having a 30 ft palm tree removed from our backyard. Larry came out and gave as a reasonable quote. He made an appointment with us for the same day at 1 pm to have it removed. One pm rolled around and there was no crew at our home, so we called Larry, he said they would be there in 30 minutes. One thirty rolled around, no crew so we called Larry again, no answer. Finally the crew shows up at 2:45. One of the crew members walks in to our backyard, looks at the tree and says, "F*** that, I'm not climbing that tree, it's almost 3!" He then preceded to storm out of the backyard grab his belongings and walk down the street! We were shocked! The other crew members offered up meager apologies and left. My grandfather and I hired Larrys Tree service to trim down a few trees and our avocado tree. Larry came over prior so to check out the scenes and we discussed what we liked. The day the tree service came. At 7 am instead of noon. They then proceeded to have me move all the cars to get started 3 hours ahead of the time I had requested. While looking at the avocado trees one of Larrys workers told me that if I want MY tree cut MY way it will look, "like shit" I am a young female and if Larrys tree service has employees questioning the clientele that is is completely disrespectful, due the fact that possible I am a woman. This company broke 2 branches in my redwood high up. I called 3 times and he set up 3 appts. and was a no show each time. Then sent his flunkies over unannounced with no apology wondering what I needed. I showed them the branches and the guy laughed and asked if I wanted them down. I had an unfortunate incident involving a delivery truck and a tree in my front yard. I called Larry this morning and he promptly came to my house to assess the damage. He saw that the branch was ready to come off and he went ahead and pulled the limb off the trunk so that I would not be liable for any damage to any cars that the branch may have fallen on. He did not charge me anything for this service, he was incredibly helpful. The only cost associated with this emergency call is to have him haul the large branch away and dispose of it. I had an appointment at 10am and he didn't show up until about 1pm and he spent almost no time explaining the job or when exactly the crew would show up the next day. The crew did an excellent job. A friend recommended Larry to me when my huge tree fell into another tree, narrowly avoiding my house and my neighbor's house. Larry came that same day, assessed the situation, and had his crew in my yard the following morning. They were very professional and did an excellent job, leaving the wood for me to distribute to my friends and neighbors. They did their job around my work schedule, and I never felt I had to run from my job to my house - in fact, I left them to it in the morning and went happily off to work, knowing they would take care of the situation. Larry's tree service left oils stains in my driveway & garbage in my bushes, soda cans, food wrappers etc... on top of that it was the neighbors tree they were cutting down. They came on my property without asking. Left trash in the neighbors back yard, parked their trucks on their grass in the fri t yard overnight, and ruined all the flowers/vegetation under and around the tree they cut down. We called and made an appointment to get an estimate on getting our trees trimmed. Larry said he'd meet us at 11:30-12. We finally called at 1 and he told us he was leaving in 5 minutes. We told him what we wanted and that we'd like to keep the wood and he gave us the price and we booked him. Half way through the job we noticed the workers were throwing the wood in the chipper instead of leaving it as we asked. They stopped and left the remaining. When we told them the trees weren't trimmed enough to what we told Larry - they said they really weren't supposed to trim the trees because they were the county's problem so they only took a little off. Why would Larry give us a quote on what he knew they couldn't do?! He was late (or forgot) our scheduled estimate appointment, did not relay the message that we wanted to keep the wood to his workers (or they didn't care/forgot), and more importantly quoted us on something he knew couldn't happen, and when we called him on it, he wouldn't acknowledge his errors and was unwilling to come to a compromise. We will not being doing business with him again or recommending him any longer, which is a shame when he was the only person my dad would call on. read more
