I've been using Jerry for my taxes for 3 years. I thought I was satisfied with his work until I received a letter from the IRS in 2017 re: my 2015 tax return. They told me he filled out my deductions in the wrong box on the forms and that the amounts did not match up. I went Back to Jerry and he said sorry and maybe his software had not been updated. Now I owe an additional 4K plus interest to the IRS. I will not be using him again! read more

Like many people who find those well deserved five star businesses I came to Larsens Tax Service because of the great reviews on Yelp. Sure, not every place is perfect and you'll have those unhappy few...or many (in some cases). However, unless every single review gives the place 1 star, legitimately, then you owe it to yourself to give it a try. I mean, everyone is different so what you might enjoy someone else might not and vise versa. Larsens is pretty much what you would expect to get, great service, the most out of your taxes, and you get your money back lighting speed (uh, yes, not literally). Anyways, if you don't have a personal accountant or do not already have a go to place, you should try them out. Tax time generally sucks (ehhh, or a bummer maybe) and if you enjoy Larsens, well, then you might feel different. read more

He's exraordinarily knowledgable about the tax code and has saved me time, money, and plenty of tax hassles. His rates seem quite reasonable for the level of service delivered. After getting our taxes done with Larsens for nearly 20 years, I figured they were overdue for an exceptional rating. My Husband I were a young married couple with our first house when we started to see Jerry. He has always been friendly, knowledgeable and quick. Every year he helps explains current tax laws and how they may impact us going forward and what to do to prepare - something we always welcome and very much appreciate. Cathy is awesome! I can't understand the reviews that are saying she is rude. Unfortunately, because of their popularity - the amount of new clients they take may be minimal, but she always answers the phone with a warm greeting and has the same demeanor when you walk into their office. So I read some reviews and decided to give this place a shot. I called the office and can not believe the way that I was treated on the phone. The receptionist was was rude and disrespectful. I asked her if they normally treat all of their potential clients this way. Anyhow, the rude receptionist ended up hanging up the phone on me. I tried to call back but it went to an answering machine. Oh well, there are PLENTY of tax services out there. No one should have to deal with this type of service. read more

A friend rec'd Larsen's to me a few years ago and my husband and I have been going there ever since. She didn't have to do much convincing considering she drives all the way from Daly City to Hayward just to get her taxes done. Larsen's is very reasonably priced - definitely CHEAPER than what we would've paid going to H&R Block. We've paid $65 for the past three years and have received our refund within 2 weeks of filing. Not a long time to wait considering the small fees they charge. They're fast, efficient and reliable. Jerry's thorough and knows his stuff. I'd recommend this tax place to anyone. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because they don't accept debit/credit cards for payment. You have to pay by check or cash. Not a huge deal to me but would definitely be more convenient if they did accept card payments. read more

My husband and I got tired of paying $180 to the guy preparing our taxes before. (He's been going to him since 2003) For 2 years I have been complaining to him to change our tax preparer because he is charging us too much. I mean money is money right? We don't have a house, no kids....nothing...nothing...just two w2. Simple as that. I decided to look for one and found Larsens Tax Service here on yelp. Jerry is amazing! Very Rude and unprofessional. They care absolute nothing about customer service nor their future clients. Was told they were not taking anymore clients this year which is understandable, but when I asked about next year they just hung up on me. Jerry is fantastic. He is a really nice guy. They don't usually take new clients, but if you can get in it is worth it. They don't charge an arm and a leg for preparing your taxes (H&R block style), but instead charge a reasonable amount. My husband and his parents have been going to Jerry for years. They wouldn't take me on as a new client, but once my husband and I got married and filed jointly, it wasn't a problem.
