But it also carried cherished memories for me. This spring (2024), Josh "refreshed" my kitchen (a mini-remodel), meticulously refinishing the cabinets (not an easy job when they're still in place) and installing the tile backsplashes himself. He coordinated with the specialists who created and installed the new cabinet doors, countertops, and flooring. During the process, he would double-check with me to see if the work met with my approval. He did all the "finish" work of reinstalling the sink, lights, and electrical plugs, and doing patchwork on the plaster where needed. He was prepared to paint, but that was something I chose to do myself. I am so pleased with the results. Josh was careful to prevent sanding dust from getting into the rest of the house, and tidied up after each day's work. He cheerfully accepted some change order tasks that popped up during the kitchen work, such as repairing my nearly 20 year-old on-demand water heater that started leaking. That job took a few tries, so he returned a couple of times when he had a moment to replace yet another aging O-ring. If his repair work didn't work, he was prepared to replace the water heater with a new unit as soon as he was able. Although a remodel is never cheap, I thought that Josh's price was more than fair, especially in these days of high inflation. I am sure there are other fine contractors in the area, but Josh's combination of excellent work, reliability, and positive attitude place him at the top of my list. I recommend that more people hire him and treat him well, so he stays in the area a good long time.

I waited years to post this review to see if I would feel better about it. I do not. Blaine Jr comes through and does a long winded presentation that makes you feel like the company will be professional. I needed my sunroom roof redone since it was leaking. In actuality, the whole sunroom probably needed to be replaced. The sunroom was switched from glass to plastic per my request. He told me during our long meeting that I would be able to discuss it more when the crew came in. I came home and they had already started and no discussion was had with me about anything. I figured they knew what they were doing so I just went with it. The next day I came home and there was double the amount of support beams that blocked out a good amount of sun. I found this odd as the plastic is significantly lighter than the glass that was previously there. I feel like he forgot he was using plastic and planned it for the glass. I paid for more wood that wasn't needed and the sunroom does not look as good with all the extra beams. It also started to leak within a couple months again and the crew had to come back out and fix it. They changed it up a little and added weather strip that looks forever to come in. I'm a few years out now and the sunroom is leaking again and every time I look at how many beams there are up there I'm upset again about the whole thing. I should have waited and replaced the entire sunroom and gone with someone else. On top of it, I felt like Blaine Jr was dismissive, condescending, and kind of a know it all. I had to request to not speak to him anymore and did all ongoing discussions with the lead instead. On a side note... the crew was very nice and did their best.

He did some other sloppy handyman work (see pic of bunk bed he reassembled with missing screws and bolts in the wrong places) but totally avoided completion of putting my things back. Additionally, a heavy wrought iron chair, a kindling wood box and patio table were not restored to their original places on the side porch. As you can see it would be difficult for someone who is legitimately disabled to do. There is also minor unfinished paint spots, on the side. When my 11 year old daughter dragged my salvaged headboard around to the side of the house out of view I texted Josh if he "knew anything about it". In a bizarre twist he interpreted that as an accusation of theft. This guy already claimed he had tools stolen out of the back of his truck while on the job. Feeling bad, I gave him $100 cash for his loss and his workers got $50 gift cards each. Later on he found his missing tools with his worker who he said was actually his cousin. This guy apparently has a history of going off the deep end regarding theft... weird. I wonder what happened to him. Because I had asked about my headboard he decided to "punish" me by ignoring my requests to put the playhouse back. Then it got even weirder. He complained to me how rude I was that I did not share my pot with him. Things got worse with the imagined accusations of theft and not sharing my marijuana with him. Bizarre. At this point after a lot of headache I had to update my review to reflect the problematic issues that I am now facing. I am disabled and a single mom, I paid for the job he won't finish and now I have to file a claim with the court system because I have to hire someone else else to help finish putting everything back he refused to. He called me petty because I told him he was leaving me with no other option but to submit a formal complaint with the contractor's state licensing board. I am very uncomfortable with this man returning to my property. It's intimidating and a very depressing situation. I would steer clear of this guy, he has issues that go way beyond imaginary accusations of theft. 2nd update (later in the day): After reviewing my security cameras Joshua Forman did in fact return to trespass on my property to shove the playhouse against the house so my daughter couldn't open the door and left the slide detached in the dirt. Fortunately, my long time landscaper helped put some things back so I will reconsider the practicality of taking legal action. I will however report his unprofessional and disgusting behavior to the state contractors licensing board. I had to make a police report for his trespassing, what a bully!!!
