Found out about Larue Vineyards through an event search on Yelp. I was not sure if I was going to go, but I am so glad that I did. After getting off the 35 the drive got really dark and windy. Finally I saw a lighted sign that said winery and I pulled in. The winery is at the end of a business strip mall. It is lit up with Christmas lights and an open sign. I was a little nervous to walk in, but I did to a warm welcome from everyone at the bar. The Larue vineyard is a small room that is just big enough for a bar, a bathroom, and a large tank and some barrels. The bar was pretty full of people, but I found a couple a seats. As soon as I sat down everyone went around and introduced themselves. I ended up talking to a couple and their daughter for most of the evening. The wine tasting started and I tried three wines and three reds. The best was the sweet red as it was naturally sweetened and was not syrupy sweet. The tastings were free, but you have to pay for glasses, which were only between $5-$6! Such a great deal for ample sizes of glasses of wine. I ended up buying a bottle of the red wine as it was super delicious! I definitely plan to come back on a Friday or Saturday night as the wine was awesome, the service was great, and the company was amazing and welcoming! Do not be turned off by the location--definitely go!

CUTE little place! Described to me by a regular as "the Cheers of Lewisville" as I sat down at the bar. Everyone was friendly and my friend and I felt welcome immediately. Wine tasting was fun and informative. Good prices for ample glasses. Will go back again! Highly recommend for a fun date and relaxing atmosphere!

What a wonderful hidden gem! We visited while camping at Lake Park. As soon as you walk through the door you feel welcome. Try the sweet white (even if you don't like sweet wines!)

Great time. Happy I finally went. The band was great and the owner was knowledgeable and funny. You should check it out.

Wines were ok all wines were from chili or California grapes. My wife and I didn't like any of the wines.

Seating Bar, high tops, large tables, patio-out door tables and chairs( warmer weather) Service So friendly and attentive Special events We tested out the comedy night and it was excellent! Not like other local venues that have potty mouth, bad word college humor-this was fantastic! 3 comics-very fun! Menu Variety of wines-seasonal and changes per year, cheese and meat plates, chocolates, lava cake. We had a glass of wine each and the lava cake that came with a generous scoop of ice cream. Depending on your party or consumption, a bottle may be more economical. We are members which gives a discount and pick up Party opportunities. We like the cabernet franc and the Texan. Summary If you see a comedy night at Landon-GO!!! So much fun and their wine is delish!

After eating at Rodeo Goat, we decided to get some wine at Landon Winery. I liked how there were many high tables available (and it was next to the bar!). I also liked how you can reserve a space for a private party. The only thing that was annoying was the door chime. It was loud and although I understand why they have it - with a large party in the back room, the chime was going on (for what it seems like) every couple of minutes. They had a good selection of wine from dry to sweet - white, red, dessert, and everything in between. They had a lot to choose from. They also sell food such as a charcuterie board.

We enjoyed a wine tasting, and there were plenty of tasting flights to choose from for every palate. The highlight for me was the charcuterie board--it was beautifully presented with a great variety of cheeses, cured meats, fruit, and crackers, making it perfect for sharing. We also ordered the pepperoni flatbread and caprese panini, and both were delicious. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and our servers were amazing--friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a relaxing afternoon with good wine and food, Messina Hof is definitely worth a visit.

Sleeper hit: the whipped brie/fig/hot honey nosh. Perfect no matter which direction your wine palate goes. The staff are helpful and relaxed, making it feel like you're hanging out at a friend's place. Their tasting room is a 100-year-old hotel, so that cool factor is cool. But it's also dealing with challenges of a 100-year-old building. And happy hour gets so loud you can't talk - you shout. That's where my 5th star went. But overall, LOVE this experience!
