My husband and I love this area - Cypress Water - The Sound. It seems to be a new developing area with lots of condos/apartments and a nice walking trail. After eating at Rodeo Goat, we decided to get some wine at Landon Winery. I liked how there were many high tables available (and it was next to the bar!). I also liked how you can reserve a space for a private party. The only thing that was annoying was the door chime. It was loud and although I understand why they have it - with a large party in the back room, the chime was going on (for what it seems like) every couple of minutes. They had a good selection of wine from dry to sweet - white, red, dessert, and everything in between. They had a lot to choose from. They also sell food such as a charcuterie board. read more

My wife and I love going to Landon Winery. We always make a stop in when we're in the area (usually going to Rodeo Goat). They have an excellent array of wines to choose from (I honestly think there are several dozen) so there's something for everyone. I normally do a tasting of the barrel aged wines because I can never choose what I want and it ends up being a great deal as you get 5 wines to sample. They do have a nice selection of food / charcuterie to choose from so if you are hungry, you can just stay there and eat. They recently expanded into the building next door so there is a ton of open seating and when it's a nice day they open up the back wall to let the fresh air in. I highly recommend Landon Winery as a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy some excellent wines. read more

The first thing I need to say is that the ladies that work here are incredible! They're the sweetest and most patient staff I've ever met. They're incredibly helpful and kind and a big reason this spot now is a new favorite of mine. Aside from that all of the wine me and my partner tasted as delicious! There was some serious care put into these wines and you can taste it. We went in on a rainy day, so we sat inside, but that was still lovely and the ambiance was welcoming and relaxing. My man has a standing date on Wed to meet up with his buddies. I just moved down here to join him and have now been to 2 Wednesday gatherings. Wed is Half price wine night! -and they happily let you bring in your own food. I love a Bargain. It can get pretty loud outside with the tree grackles (which for some strange reason I am fond of, AND had never heard of before prior to visiting Texas). The waitress this crowd gets as "regulars" is Christine, who is a doll - she keeps me in consistent glasses of ice for my h20- and she knows what people want before they order it - it was pretty fun the first night I saw it in action, she was quite the "cat wrangler" of our table of 9. I imagine I will be here most Wednesdays (except in the heat of summer). I am from Northern CA - close to wine country - so the wine could be more to my liking, but i cannot fault the service, the atmosphere OR the pricing so 5 stars. read more

I've been coming to this location for a couple of years now, and I usually have a wonderful experience especially because it's at The Sound in Coppell, which is a family-friendly area where you can sit outside and let your kids play. Most of the staff are always friendly and welcoming. However, there is one employee a woman with red hair and glasses who is consistently rude and unkind. I've had several negative interactions with her over time. She often tells kids not to run even though they're outside in a designated family environment. It's not like anyone is running inside the winery. Every time I encounter her, she makes snarky remarks and acts as if I don't belong there, always repeating that she's "worked here for years and has never seen me," even though I come at least twice a week and have been served by her multiple times. Today was another disappointing experience. My kids and I were sitting at an outdoor table after buying pizza from Eno's. Almost all the outdoor tables were empty, and we were just eating before heading back to the Christmas event happening in the area. She approached us and immediately asked, "Are you not ordering wine from us?" I told her no, not today. She then said it was "against the law" to bring kids to a winery without purchasing wine something I've never heard in my life, especially since we were outside. She compared it to "bringing outside food into McDonald's," speaking to me with an unnecessary tone right in front of my kids. I explained that I come here all the time Tuesdays for bingo, Wednesdays for half-off, and sometimes Thursdays or Fridays and that I don't always purchase something when we're simply outside enjoying the space. Again, she repeated that she's "never seen me." Then she asked if I "didn't like wine," which is completely out of line. I told her I'm pregnant and we were simply eating. She continued with comments about not leaving a mess, even though I always clean up after my kids, and the area was practically empty. Her attitude was uncalled for, rude, and honestly embarrassing. It feels like every time we come -- whether we buy wine or not she treats us differently. Little does she know we actually have the monthly wine membership and attend many of the events here. I can't help but feel like I'm being singled out or profiled as a young Hispanic mom, because I don't see her speaking to older customers this way. I love this place, but her behavior makes the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming, and it's been a repeated issue. read more

Great urban winery at the Sound! We love coming here for happy hour after work. They offer deals on certain days off bottles or glasses. They do tastings, glasses, and bottles. They also have a food menu if you get hungry. I have done the tasting several times and always enjoyed the wines. Staff is very friendly and helpful in picking a wine based on what you generally like. I love the Cabernet or red blends here. There is parking right in front of the store. Depending on what time of day you come, it may or may not be busy. If it's busy, you can still easily find parking either on the street or in The Sound's parking garage which is just across the street. read more

We did the wine tasting, and our server was very friendly and explained the different wines options which helped us choose what we wanted to sample. Landon Winery is great. They have a wonderful selection. The Riesling is absolutely my favorite. Do note that there are no waiters here. You simply go order when you are ready, bar style. There is limited seating indoors, but ample seating across the entire outdoor area here at The Sound. The decor inside is ambient and warm with Edison bulbs and (of course) lots of wine! The staff is friendly and very helpful with recommendations. A glass of wine can be a bit pricey, but this is typical for good wineries! I really enjoyed this place. It is a winery so it's low key for sure. The ladies in there are super helpful. I didn't really know what I wanted but they suggested a frozen margarita with strawberry frozen on top! Yummy! The ladies in there give amazing service. They put together some great flights for us. It is a small space inside but the outside is very spacious. The great part is that there are lots of restaurants surrounded by it so you can walk next door to get pizza , fish and chips , wings or whatever. There is parking available. I'm a serious wine lover. I LOVE to drink great wine. And like most people who love to drink great vino we don't usually associate great wines with Texas, until now. Most people know I'm from NYC, but one of the reasons I came down to Texas was for college. Texas has some amazing Colleges. Long story short, I eventually ended up with 4 degrees, one of which, a Viticulture & Enology degree from The "Munson" Viticulture & Enology program at Grayson County College, in Texas. It's not far from Greenville, Texas where the Landon Winery is, where the wine is made, that you can go for a actual tour. See their website for the touring schedule. Anyhoo, I'm pretty sure we went to the same Viticulture & Enology program. It's one of the few degreed grape growing/wine making programs in the US & the first of its kind in Texas. A really cool place. And I'm pretty sure the guys that make this wine, was in my viticulture & Enology class. "Thomas Volney Munson" who came to Denison, Texas to begin a career in grape research, stayed here his whole life. Grayson County became T.V. Munson's home after his first visit, stating, "I have found my grape paradise!" He went on to develop three hundred superior grape varieties from the wild native grapes along the bluffs of the Red River. Where I bought my land & farm, where the Blue Ostrich vineyard & The Arché Winery & Vineyard is also located. So, I have been involved with Texas winemaking for over a decade. And I can tell you there has never been a great Texas Pinot Noir, till now. When I stopped by this little shop to try "Landon's Pinot Noir wine" I was told Landon's is actually growing their grapes in the panhandle of Texas, however the winery is actually located in Greenville, Texas. Hubby & I can't wait to go for a visit ASAP, see if I can find my old classmate, mate. Lol Anyhoo, if you love a great Pinot Noir, you have to try "Landon's Pinot Noir" Its very good, $20 a bottle, A great Pinot Noir, my new favorite. The best to come out of Texas so far IMO. Shocking I know, I signed up for the wine club, got 50% off my first case & can not wait to return to try some different variety's. The ladies that work in the wine shop will hook you up! So I stumbled upon this gem and couldn't be more excited that I did. Totally lived the vibe an atmosphere in this area in general. One of my girlfriends was bidding from Detroit for her birthday weekend and we wanted some wine. Low behold we found the perfect spot. The young woman that was there that night was absolutely the best and most friendly person. She recommended some excellent suggestions. I forgot her name but I loved her personality. She was a blonde, petite and wore glasses. She deserves a raise because she had some rude and obnoxious people but she still smiled through it and gave excellent service. Definitely will go back to try out more wines and enjoy the view of the water and the other great resturants around there. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! My husband and I wanted to do something low key for our wedding anniversary and had been dying to try Landon Winery at 'The Sound' after seeing it multiple times. We went in early on a Saturday afternoon when they opened at 11am and Chris who was working was beyond nice and helpful! We explained that we had never been here before and we were celebrating. She asked what we liked and gave us a tasting of a few wines to see what we liked. It didn't take a lot of tries to find something that suited us both. My husband got a rose -I believe- that tasted like raspberries and I was able to get a sangria slush that was OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD. It had a red and white with the raspberry wine floating- I don't even like raspberries normally but this was bangin. We also had some champagne to celebrate and tried a dessert chocolate-y wine. All SO GOOD. We ordered a charcuterie board to go along with the wine and Chris was super nice and made sure we liked everything (we aren't olive people so she substituted for us no problem!). She also went above and beyond with a dessert lava cake that had the chocolate wine on top. My mouth is watering just remembering how good it was- hah! I cannot wait to go back, and we are hoping to make it out to the actual winery in east texas - as this location is mainly a tasting room. Overall, I would highly suggest coming here! You can even bring friends who would prefer food from one of the other venues and eat outside from multiple different places while you still enjoy your wine, so fun! But if you come in a T-shirt and shorts, it takes much longer to get served. It seems like they care more about how you look than whether you have the money to spend. The first time I ever tried Landon Winery was many years ago. I completely forgot how delicious it was! So glad I found this shop and enjoy these flavors. I prefer to have sweet wines and my fiancé prefers red blends, so the sommelier gave us great recommendations. We loved the wine tasting option. We enjoyed tried 5 different wines for the price of $15/person. My favorites were the Red Merlot, Riesling, Peach, and Red Rose. Other wines we enjoyed include Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Yellow Rose, Texan, Raspberry, 15 Anniversary, and The Signature. We also enjoyed a Charcuterie Board while we drank our wines, it was delicious! The Sommelier was so helpful and friendly. This shop abides by COVID-19 precautions, so thank you for that! I loved their champagne. What I didn't love was the $12 counter service up charge to take the champagne outside. They did provide a seating area, wine glasses and a cooling container and had water available for customers to take outside in plastic glasses. These are all self serve I also did not like that they asked for a tip with pre populated selections when you paid for the bill. I guess the 18-25% selections were for opening the bottle My suggestion is that they don't ask for a tip for services that they don't provide. A tip is for service. There was no service provided. The only thing they did after the sale was ask if we wanted to order some food. read more

What better way to end your daily grind in Irving/ Las Colinas area is with a glass of some good local wine. Landon has been one of my favorite local wine destination. This particular one is the smallest of the three but they have an awesome outside patio overlooking North Lake. Decor is slightly different from the other location too. This has more modern feel to it. McKinney has that old aged winery vibe while Wylie is very rustic. Either way, check out their wines and I promise that you would find something that you will enjoy. read more

It's the wine for me! The wine selection here is sure to please even the pickiest of those members of your party. I've had nearly every wine so I'll review new ones that I have recently fallen for. First, the Texan which a robust red that brings subtle berry flavor and pairs well with aged cheeses. Second, the Sauvignon blanc, this one surprised me because it reminds me of sunshine on a perfect day where you're sitting on a porch with friends. Literally that feeling in a bottle. Third, the first dessert wine I've ever liked was their chocolate wine. Oh it's strong and sweet but the depth of flavor keeps you wanting more. We are wine club member, so I am a little bias. Their wine is delicious, hence the membership, and their service is always top notch. We have visited all their locations this being the newest one. It has a more modern Art Deco feel to match its surrounding area. The winery is quite small, but the outside covered patio is very inviting. This particular location has an amphitheater towards the back patio where different venues perform making it for a fun family outing. Landon allows you to order food from the neighboring businesses but they also provide cheese and meat boards. I love it here so much, I have offered to work weekends for them.
