This place is an absolute hidden gem! I have been going here for years, and recently returned for work. Las Brazas is a family owned shop and serves delicious, authentic, and fresh tacos/burritos! They are very friendly and do honest work. They grill their chicken daily in front of their restaurant, and make absolutely amazing food. I almost always get the Big Bite Burrito (Chicken and Carne Asada) with tacos (Chicken, Carne Asada, and/or Al Pastor). The green hot sauce they make is delicious and packs good heat. But the place has pretty limited seating. Additional note: the giant burrito is too giant. I was malnourished when I went in and was able to fast for several days after. This is my go to place for authentic Mexican enchiladas. I've had the pollo asado as well, and it's delicious! I really appreciate when Mexican rice is cooked well (usually a crime committed by tex-mex) which I think it is here. Nothing fancy about it. Just fried, long grain rice with tomato boullion and some spices maybe. Not too dry, not watery, and the grains split beautifully. Sorry, rice is a big deal to me. Was this run by different people 6 months ago? Because everything others are raving about seemed suspiciously absent. The lot was packed even though we were the only ones in there when we first arrived. The food was average if I'm being generous, but very bland. But the real kicker was that no one that worked there seemed in any real hurry to get food or checks or anything for anybody. The owner even blocked someone in with his truck and no one seemed to respond appropriately or in any sort of timely fashion to that. Best Mexican I've ever had. The service was phenomenal - very fast and friendly. The outside looks kind of sketchy but the food and service completely make up for it. I had the USA Chicken Enchiladas (so cheesy and yummy) and my boyfriend had the Gigante burrito (it's HUGE). We were both completely satisfied and can't wait to go back for more. We found this precious 'hole in the wall' while driving around the area, decided to give it a try and oh boy... what a perfect choice. This joint is a family business, we sat in one on the tables and we were greeted by a warm inviting staff, the service was excellent but the best part was the food, we started with just a simple sweet tea drinks and chips with guacamole, always kinda waiting to get the generic versions, I was pleasantly surprised when we got fresh home made tea, chips (still warm) and the best guac I found on Killeen as far as consistency and flavor. we ordered the tacos plate and the pork, when the entrees got on the table, a mouth-watering smell filled our noses, the food was beyond delicious, it is definitely the flavor of authentic Mexican food, we were more than pleased! and to close the day, we were surprised when the final bill (for 2 drinks, appetizer and entrees) was only $24!
