Tonight was the second time ordering delivery. It was Sooooooo good!!!!!!! The food came in a reasonable amount of time and in perfect condition. My boyfriend got the steak platter, with the meat cooked medium rare. When we order delive restaurants often over cook the meat, but this place cooked it to perfection. My chicken platter and the adobe chicken platter was so flavorful. Pork belly tacos delicious as well. Portions are a great size. I couldn't finish my burrito in one sitting. I come here with me son just about every week before his tutoring class. The staff is always friendly and attentive. My son is 4 years old and on the mild end of the spectrum, and they are always good with him. They always have beautiful seasonal decorations and allow him to walk around and look at them. We very much enjoy the food. My 4 year old's palette is limited to chicken nuggets/chicken tacos/chicken quesadillas-- all of which he loves. His only complaint is that they don't serve chocolate milk or hot chocolate. I've completely enjoyed every meal I've had here so far. I'd really recommend the shrimp quesadillas (or really any shrimp dish they serve). I love that the portions are a reasonable size and I don't leave feeling gross. Found this Mexican restaurant on Door Dash and I couldn't wait to try it out after looking at the reviews on Yelp! I had to order the fish taco and it did not disappoint! I was afraid the crunchy outside would be soggy from delivery but when it got to me, it was super crunchy and hot still. The flavor was delicious! I also had a side of rice and beans, the rice and beans could use more flavor but it's solid. My boyfriend ordered the steak burrito and when I say it's the size of a 20 week baby, I'm not joking! Portion size was great, price wasn't too bad. I ordered a side of chips and salsa and they gave me two orders of chips and salsa so I'm thinking chips and salsa is already included for delivery. I don't often review places but considering what we are all going through I thought it was needed. This place is great. This is the second time we've ordered from here during the pandemic and they have been on point. We ordered the corn on the cob, al pastor tacos, steak tacos and the shrimp ceviche. Everything we got was excellent. I will say the shrimp ceviche is not your typical style ceviche it's in a delicious salsa and pretty spicy, second time around I asked them to make it a little less spicy and it was perfect for me. My friend and I stumbled upon this place while planning to go to Dyker Heights to see the Christmas decorations and we were so pleasantly surprised by the food. We were the only diners when we walked in and was a little hesitant but decided to stay anyway because the waitress was super friendly. Just a heads up; I've never dined in the restaurant. I've only done pick up but I have been very pleased with my experiences. My order is always ready earlier then estimated. The server is alway prompt in handing me my order when I arrive and is very kind. The food is always hot and delicious. I really enjoy their tacos al pastor. Al pastor tacos are my favorite and in general I'm a pretty picky taco eater. I will only eat tacos that are well flavored and taste authentic with real and fresh ingredients and Chelitas knows how to deliver fresh and authentic tacos. The pineapple in the al pastor tacos seem freshly cut and taste refreshing. If you order the lunch combo, you get two tacos with a lovely and hefty portion of both yellow rice and black beans which have freshly cut onions and topped with cilantro. Chelitas staff are so nice. So helpful and hospitable. My husband and I stopped in for just dessert one night and had delicious churros, tres leches and some sangria. Place doesn't look like much inside but what we had was really good. I had to remove a star for not having their liquor license and not making it obvious that it is a BYOB. Let me just say this is my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. Me and my bf recently moved back to sunset/Dyker area and the first time we ordered from here I was HYPED. The food is always super FRESH, generous portions, SUPER DELICIOUS, affordable & always on point. The fact that they send complimentary chips and salsa in itself is such a nice touch. Their delivery is so fast that we order every week sometimes multiple times a week because it's just that reliable. I told my bf they must be thinking "damn these people must not own a stove.." we do! We just love you! I've now had delivery from them 5 times and I think that their food is great. I always order the battered fish tacos, which are excellent, but it was their Chelitas salad I ordered yesterday that put them to the top of my list. Fresh spinach, pickled red onions, heirloom beans (?), And queso fresco, etc. This salad was so great I saved half for lunch today and it was so fresh it didn't wilt in my fridge overnight ( sometimes that crisper drawer works well). It was so delicious to me that I didn't even use the balsamic chili dressing, even though that was pretty tasty. I am not a big salsa guy but there's is mucho fresco.... There are a number of above average Mexican restaurants in this area of southern Brooklyn but this is amongst the too of them. Highly recommend based on my experiences. Just finished my beer battered fish taco combo which was part of their lunch special and I am thinking should go back to this charming Mexican restaurant to order dinner too cause it was that good. The 2 crispy fish tacos, side Mexican rice and black beans were just the right amount of food to keep my belly satiated and happy. I had also ordered the Pescado Azteca (its spicy) but my bf seems to also enjoyed it alot. They include gratis chips and salsa with the order.
