One of the best TexMex restaurants in the greater Austin area. The la crema fajitas are just so amazing. And they have one special added ingredients rarely seen... sundried tomatoes and perfect little mushrooms in a luscious creamy sauce!!! Very different than the usual onion and green bell pepper. OMG... yes there could be tears it is so good. The balance of the menu features all the classics, including mariscos (seafood) dishes. One small caveat, they are closed on Saturdays. Casual friendly atmosphere. Generous portions, very reasonable and a friendly staff. During the Holiday months (Nov through Jan only) they also offer home made tamales to go!!!

Carne Asada, best I've ever had!

Epic stumbled upon score! Hole in the wall adjacent but still nice enough to take the fam. But the FOOD! OMG no exaggeration here, best Carne Asada I've ever had! And those refried beans, wow! Staff was super nice as well and had tamales and trinkets for sale.

Staff was amazing - big smiles and checked in several times to make sure all was well. Of course, after seeing the reviews and upon our waiters recommendation, we got the street tacos. It could have used a little more moisture but, very tasty overall. The charro beans were amazing. L

Food, Service, and Ambiance were all excellent! We stumbled upon it while picking up a U-Haul rental down the road and sooo glad we stopped! Friendly service, cute and clean with plenty of seating and parking !

    Stuffed avacodo:)

This place was a great surprise! So worth the drive up sh95 from 71. Service 100%! Was going to order nachos but asked about the stuffed avocado and on the daughter of the chefs recommendation got the stuffed avocado. It was so good that ordered another to take back to Tennessee. My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was excellent! Thank you for a delicious dinner. Hope to come again soon!

Wonderful service! Restaurant was very clean with lots of seating! The food was great! We went for lunch & was surprised with free chile con queso along with our chips and salsas!

Only American cheese is served. Authentic Mexican food? My ass.

They do not have homemade tortillas. The salsa was way too chunky and needed to be blended up more. The service was ok.

If you're in the Bastrop area and want Mexican food, you can't beat this place. It's my favorite restaurant in the county.

The wait staff is friendly and checks up on us regularly, They have a chalk board with specials. A nice bar - Today their specials included a $5 margarita. But I also like their generous Mexican martini (brought out in a proper shaker) and their Fridarita - an ode to Ms. Kahlo featuring hibiscus (jamaica) and decorated with a flower. It has to be the most interesting margarita I've ever encountered. And it tastes great. My wife had the menudo and a crispy chicken taco. She enjoyed both. And the taco was larger than most. I came back to my favorite here, the shrimp relleno - a blister, peeled poblano pepper (not battered or fried) filled with shrimp and ranchero sauce and served with white rice and lovely, grilled vegetables (zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms, etc.). The whole dish works so well together you could mix it all up and it would still be devine. So... we keep coming back.

We were greeted and seated right away. The salsa that came with the complementary chips were outstanding. However, the authenticity and vibe were unfortunately lackluster. I ordered my meal and I told the waitress I did not want any cheese in my fried stuff avocado meal and when the meal came she assured me there was no cheese which she was wrong. I couldn't get another meal made right for some reason so I unfortunately did not finish my meal. Unfortunately, I will have to pass on this establishment.

And they offer both options every day/all day, which is great. She'll come back with her sister to enjoy it again. I had two breakfast tacos: one with egg, sausage and cheese and the other with migas. I really loved the migas. While the first taco was unremarkable, the migas was great. It was perfect, in fact. And it really celebrates their home made corn and flour tortillas. The only thing I didn't like was the salsa. It tasted like canned tomatoes and it was a wee bit salty and not very spicy. I really liked the migas, though. It was made with fresh jalapeño and had just the right amount of heat without needing any salsa. So I think this is one of those places that does some things very well... enough to build up a solid base of regulars, even though some of their other offerings were disappointing, like improperly reheated enchiladas. But if you know what to order, you can really enjoy this place. Oddly enough, they have chorizo on the menu, but don't list it among the available proteins on the breakfast taco menu, which I personally find very strange. Chorizo and egg is such an iconic breakfast taco offering. I'll bet they'd do it justice.
