Menudo and birria (caldo) with Mexican Coke and cafe de olla
    Sandy A.

Perfect for a big and tasty meal! Service was amazing as we dined in and there were few people there (most were doing take-out). Both the birria and menudo were good but got tastier with the salsa and toppings. The restaurant has good upbeat music and overall a good vibe. Very clean and organized too. Lots of variety for classic Mexican/Oaxacan food. Cafe de Olla was a 10/10 as well!

A nice little hole in the wall restaurant! I opted for the wet burrito and it was really good. I do wish they would add more cilantro & onions but other than that. It was good. The aqua fresca is also very good as i got the Jamaica. The only complaint i could find is that parking is hard to find.

This place was a great, authentic find for our last trip to LA! Great Horchata and lovely people. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating and you really got a great deal for some authentic Mexican food!

    Tacos: $1.39 each
    Paul V.

I wasn't sure what to expect out of Las Delicias given the rough around the edges surrounding area, but what I found were some rock solid tacos that came out of what was clearly a family owned and operated shop. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Las Delicias is nothing fancy, but abundant seating and salsa bar were a refreshing change of scenery from the taco stands and trucks that I'd frequented in South Los Angeles over the past several months. They accept credit card and get your tacos out quickly. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? As Las Delicias has a proper brick and mortar shop when compared to the trucks and stands, I expected to be paying well over $1.50 per taco; so you can imagine my surprise when what were extremely generously sized and filled tacos came to only $1.39 each. Great value. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? My pastor and carne asada tacos didn't change my life, but the meats were seemingly fresh, the tortillas buttery but without all the grease, and the salsas spicy and flavorful. Single Star. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? We should be rooting for businesses like Las Delicias to flourish, and given their prices, menu breadth, and execution, I'd gladly come to Las Delicias daily. Star.

    Chicken Tamales

If they had 0 stars that's what I'd give it. I'm not much of a yelp reviewer but this needed to be said. First of all the tamale or what is considered a tamale looks more like a pancake. Ok so presentation is important but not always the case for good Mexican food so I went ahead and poured my green salsa and took a bite and let me tell you this made me gag. I'm from East LA and savor my tamales from the street shopping carts as well as my Mexican restaurants but this, this was not Mexican tamales. It was undercooked in my opinion and salsa tasted sour. I remember coming here about 2 yrs ago and eating tamales from here and they were pretty good. It's a shame it was not how I remember it.

Solid mom and pop Mexican/Oaxacan food restaurant. Highly recommend. The wet burrito is great as is the pork ribs in sauce.

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

Located between Koreatown and Pico-Union, this restaurant delivers an outstanding dining experience from the moment you're seated. My wife and I both ordered the Mole Coloradito with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. One detail we really appreciated was being able to choose between white meat or dark meat--a thoughtful touch that lets you customize your meal to your preference. The mole was rich, complex, and full of flavor, exactly what you would hope for from a restaurant known for its Oaxacan specialties. As a welcome appetizer, they bring fresh chips and salsa to the table, but what really impressed us was when they replaced the salsa with their incredible mole sauce. It was so good we found ourselves dipping everything into it. Both meals were served with rice that was perfectly cooked with a great consistency and flavor. For those feeling adventurous, give the Chapulines (grasshoppers) a try. They may sound intimidating, but they were surprisingly enjoyable and added to the authentic experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and patient with those of us who are not fluent in Spanish. Their hospitality made us feel comfortable and welcomed throughout our visit. Great food, authentic flavors, and wonderful service make Guelaguetza a restaurant we'll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended!

As soon as you walk up the stairwell you'll be transported into this super cute place with an outdoor-indoor feel, almost like an elegant treehouse. We were seated on the second level which provided a Birds Eye view of the restaurant. We ordered a few items to share: Cameron ceviche, flautas and for our sweet tooth, French toast paired with a mango sorbet surprise with a candle for our birthdays (tip: we drizzled the melted sorbet on our French toast and took small scoops with each bite - game changer!). Everything was so delicious! We also ordered mocktails, a miche-nada for him and a lemony drink for me. This experience wouldn't have been as great without the exceptional service we had. Our waters were always refilled without asking, our tables were cleaned with every dish, honestly top-notch service! My only real bummer was discovering they took the vegan ceviche off the menu--that was actually the whole reason I came back! I'm sure they have their reasons, but I was pretty disheartened to see it go. Overall, the menu doesn't have a ton of vegan items, but they do have some room for adjustments if you ask. Despite the menu change, the incredible atmosphere and unique menu still make it a must-try.

Hollenbeck was good but I definitely enjoyed the Okie burrito more, I ordered the "original" size once and didn't seem to learn my lesson the second time, these burritos can feed two in Original size. They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.
