This place was a hidden gem that we found in Corona, NY. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. The serve some authentic Peruvian food that's very flavorful. My wife and I ordered the Lomo Saltado (Carne) and the Pescado Frito (or fried fish chunks). Let me tell - the Lomo Saltado was some of the most flavorful Lomo Saltado I've had in a while. Juicy, well marinated skirt steak accompanied by grilled red onion and tomatoes, on top of a bed of French fries and white rice. They had pickled onions on the side of this dish to really complement the savoriness of the dish with a nice touch of pungent acidity. Well balanced meal. The Pescado Frito came with an abundance of lemons which is a plus if you like to add that to your deep fried fish - as well as some Yucca and your traditional Peruvian sauces (white sauce and red sauce/hot sauce). Both sauces were flavorful and house made. I highly recommend this place, it was clean, service was quick and very hospitable. Our server made sure that we had ample napkins for our meal. My wife mentioned the bathroom was clean and there's ample seating inside for parties of 4 or more. Check this place out - you won't regret it. read more

We stopped here for a quick bite on Thursday evening. We're looking for a place with Peruvian ceviche. The fish non-spicy ceviche was wonderful. It was flavorful and an served with the traditional sweet potato. While we really enjoyed the ambiance and service we did find some of the menu items to be a little pricey. This is one of the nicer restaurants in the area but we were expecting to see more affordable choices. Average dish was $18. However don't let this deter you from trying this place out! I plan on coming back to try other typical Peruvian dishes on the menu like tallarines verdes. read more

This is my favorite Peruvian restaurant been coming here for years on and off. Was here a little over a month ago. I typically get the Jalea or Lomo saltado or mariscos saltado. The price is slightly more than other Peruvian restaurants. Went had the delicioua Jalea and 3 inca kolas. You gotta have Incan kola with the meal. And a soup . The Jalea is more than enough for 2 people. The bill was about $50. The service was ok. The food though should be a 4.5 but im feeling generous today!! Nice place located in Queens. Not your typical Peruvian restaurant. They sell chicken but not whole. It's only chicken breast served though out there menu. I ordered the Lomo Saltado (Carne). It was ok. We ordered Fried Calamari but it didn't come with any sauce. The papa hucanian was good. Staff is ok, nothing great to write home about. They can be a bit more friendly. First of all, when you go to the restaurant, it's small and kinda dense in terms of space and they have white curtains in between tables which helps in privacy from behind and in front of you but not the side across the room. There was a lunch special going on, which gave a good deal for like soup and beef stew with beans and rice. Papa la huanchada was good but not spicy at all. The soup was good it reminds me of good minestrone. However, my biggest complaint is my dish of green spaghetti with beef steak. Tallardina verde de bistec. The green spaghetti is flavorless and blend and and very vinegar. I believe that the sauce that they use is premade cause it tasted very old and outdated. The spaghetti is fine but the sauce ruined its quality. The steak was good in terms of freshness quality but the spaghetti ruined it for me. For the price of this dish, it should be way less because it tastes very cheap and not worth the cost. The waitress understood that I didn't like it and took it back and did not charge me for it and she offered to give me fried rice with the steak. Which I got. I really wish I can give a good rating for the fried rice too but all I taste was pretty much just oil, it's kind of flavorless, it's weird as it had onions but there was no flavor, and I suspect that the rice they use was very old, even the steak didn't help it. I had the chicha morada to wash it down to get the flavor out. Overall, I was disappointed with my lunch at this restaurant. It's a shame because I used to go to this restaurant in the past and the food was better quality compared to now. I don't know if it's the new management or the chefs or the preparation of the food but something needs to change in order for me to give this restaurant a good review. While I do appreciate the waitress for attending, I cannot give a good review since my lunch was not met to my expectations. Avoid the green spaghetti at all times and the fried rice. If you have to eat here, that's your decision, but if you want better Peruvian food, I suggest look for someplace else that offers better Peruvian food in terms of better quality and better prices. Las delicia, please change yourself in the future to make your food and the restaurant better in terms of its food quality, service and atmosphere. read more

Great peruvian dishes and services. Sometimes the temperature is either too hot or too cold, other then that its worth the trip you will not regret it. Our favorite is ceviche, Jalea and pescado a las delicias which is a combination of seafood in a soy based sauce with white rice and a side of pickled onions and tomatoes absolutely delicious and fresh! Owners ( mother and daughter) are usually the cooks and it shows in the quality of the food and the way its served. The desserts are also a must, try the arroz con leche, flan or mazamora. read more

I must defend this amazing restaurant. I come here every other week with my family and I never been disappointed. One of the feedback that I must say is true is that there isn't anyone that speaks english. If you want to give this place a try I recommend the following dishes: Lomo Saltado: One of the most popular dishes that you must try! Strips of Beef, Tomato, Onions and French Fries with Cumin Seasoning and Soy Sauce. Arroz Frito con Camarones: Another popular dish. Nothing big like fried rice. Papa con Huacania Sauce: Excuse my spelling for this dish. It is boiled potatoes with creamy cheese sauce. Ceviche: It is pieces of fish cooked in lime juice. Please caution that they put a lot of red onions on it! Jalea: Dish filled with fried yummy fish that you can share for up to 4 people. No... there is no oil puddle in the bottom, it fried just right. Don't pick the "usual dishes like chicken with rice and beans". You will be disappointed! Take a risk and try something new like Picante de Mariscos, Aji de Gallina, Chupe de Camarones, Papa Rellena... but like I said you have to know some spanish to try their food. Not impressed. Very uncomfortable to get in here, small and tables are practically stacked one on top of each other. Ugh, can I have my arm space please? Servers are nice though, rarely do I ever have complaints about staff. Food...mother had the duck entree (which a friend recommended) and it was certainly not worth any recommendation. I had causa, it was good. The chicha mirada, did they hand me a can? Idk. For desserts: Alfajores (the dessert of my heart) was a mega fail, that is pretty sad. Leche asada was pretty good. My family and I used to come here a lot when I was a child. My family still goes occasionally, but up until last Saturday I hadn't been here in a really long time. I decided to take my boyfriend here to check it out. The place is still as small as I remember and hasn't changed a bit. To some, it may seem too small and cramped but I actually kind of like it. It's homey and from a business perspective - I'd rather Nico keep the place small than have to hike up the prices just to pay the rent for a bigger place, but anyway. We must have come at the perfect time (around 6pm) because there was only one other table occupied (it wasn't until about 7 that more people started trickling in). For appetizers we ordered the ceviche mixto and causa rellena. I loved them both, very good. My boyfriend usually doesn't like causa but after a little coaxing he tried this one and became a fan. The chicken and sauce in the causa was very creamy and soft with the perfect amount of flavor in the potato. For our entrees we both ordered our favorite dishes - lomo saltado and tallarines verdes con bistec. The lomo saltado was very appetizing, very juicy and flavorful. The tallarines verdes was mouthwatering, perfect color (some other places put way too much cream or milk for the sauce and it comes out all wrong) and great taste and the steak was perfect. To my surprise the have helado de lucuma. I've been to several Peruvian restaurants that have it on their menu but never seem to actually carry it. They don't actually make it here but the fact that they carry it was a delightful surprise. Will have to come back soon. read more

Found this little gem hole in the wall, when I ventured out from my hotel about 10 blocks away. It is definitely a "hole in the wall", and I actually walked right by it, went up three blocks and then had to turn around! (Thank God for Google Maps! Haha!). It is very small inside, but not uncomfortable. I went around dinner time on a Monday, and it was full with only a few open tables. I ordered the Ceviche Mixto with a side order of white rice, and an Inca Cola. The waiter asked if I'd like it spicy, and I told him, just a bit. When I received my food it was a good size portion, and was the perfect amount of spice! The seafood was fresh and firm, not mushy or stale! The Ceviche had so much flavor! It was really amazing and I was super satisfied with my order. After dinner, I asked about desserts, they gave me a few choices and I chose the Lucama ice cream. I took it to go, and it is made locally and was about a half pint I believe. I ate that back at my hotel room, and it was very good also! The prices are what I would expect from NYC; a little higher than I'd pay in Texas or somewhere perhaps, but I feel they were fair for the area. Overall an excellent experience!! As a born and raised Peruvian living in New York, it's hard to find places like these that show the authenticity of my country. The waiters were extremely attentive and kind. This place gave out an honest and culture-centered vibe. As a party of 8 celebrating my mom's birthday, we ordered a lot of food! This is a place where the basic rotisserie chicken is not the main dish. This is a place that offers the diversity found in the Peruvian gastronomy. Overall, the food was amazing. The Choros a la Marinera were delightful and so was the Ocopa. On point!!! However, I chose Lomo Saltado and it was not what I expected. Onions were too thin and the little pieces of parsley were missing. OVERALL, Delicias Peruanas has a nice atmosphere, the music playing is what you'd hear in a typical Peruvian party or reunion, so that was a plus! We ordered some mixed rice from this establishment for a friends birthday we specifically told them NO fish due to the birthday girl having really bad allergies to fish. We received the rice and it did have shrimp. We were NEVER informed of this. The birthday girl had to be rushed to the hospital due to her throat closing up. It was a very frightening experience. When we called back we were giving attitude and we were actually overcharged for our order. WE WILL NEVER BE ORDERING HERE AGAIN. read more

Comfort food Peruvian style. a small place on 104th st in Corona that is a favorite in the neighborhood and deservedly so. Service is friendly, prices good and portions generous. Most importantly the food is fresh and tasty. Be forewarned, the menu is only in Spanish and the staff speak very limited English so if you dont speak Spanish it's worth taking a few moments ahead of eating here to check out their menu on line and translate some of the choices. the other option of course is check out what other patrons are eating and just ask for the same.
