1 Star I've been a loyal customer for years -- I even drive over 40 minutes just to eat here because the food has always been worth it. But today changed everything. The pollo was dry, totally not up to their usual quality. Our server dropped the food off and disappeared. Never checked in, never asked if everything was okay. Another server eventually stepped in so I could place a to-go order. Then came the bill... and to my surprise, they automatically added the tip. Just my wife and I having lunch -- no big group, nothing fancy -- and they didn't even ask. I've come here with 3 or more people before and never had this happen. The ceviche was not good... The fish was not fresh & it didn't have flavor. The palta rellena was worse... chicken was dry w/out flavor, and avocado a little hard and black spots all over. Food is delicious. Sizable portions, seasoned well, and good variety of menu items. Service was prompt for a Thursday evening; we were seated immediately, and tended to timely. Ambiance is as expected for a neighborhood kind of restaurant. If you're craving Peruvian and you're in the area, this is a solid choice. The waitress was amazing she was so sweet and tried to be accommodating. The food was disgusting and inedible. The empanadas tasted like they've been stored somewhere for a long time, then taken out and microwaved. The lomo lacked flavor. The tres leches also tasted old. Everything was just poor quality. The food was over priced. The ambiance was nice, we went during the day so no one was there. I am black women that every time I go this location for my lunch hour on Queens Blvd they are very rude to African American people. The tall lady with blonde hair always rolling her eyes and avoids taking our orders. The guy will take everyone around us orders before they ask if we need help. 2024 and we have to still deal with RACIST people. Making me and my girlfriends as BLACK women feel so uncomfortable and we have been going here for lunch for over 3 year and RACIST should not be on the menu. read more

I come to this location because it's within walking distance of my house. However, every time I come to this establishment there is always a problem with the waitress. Nowhere on the menu does it state that you can't order white meat chicken when ordering the special that comes with two sides. She always says that only one of us can have it with white meat. She seems to have an attitude all the time. When it's time to take the tip, she's always happy though. We give a tip of nearly half the bill because it's the right thing to do but she doesn't deserve it. I guess I'll be driving over to Pio Pio from now on. read more

Bad service! Cold Food! Male waiter not professional! Gave me a weird look when i asked him a question about my food which was wrong!! Female waitress by the cashier was speaking loud... and then was shouting from her post about how my food can be taken back so they can re-do it... uhh no thanks!!! I came here for the first time the day after the blizzard and was fairly impressed, much better than I had anticipated. Yes, it's all about the green sauce. It goes great with everything. So delicious with a nice kick. I ordered half of a chicken with yellow rice and my husband the lomo saltado. We also ordered the fried calamari and manduros to share. The chicken was so moist and tasty. Not a bit dry. While the yellow rice looked boring, it was flavored well. The lomo saltado was a disappointment though. The beef was tough to a point where I had to spit a piece out because I couldn't chew through it. It also had an iron taste to it despite being cooked through. Not a fan at all. The calamari was your typical calamari. It was fried well, not over-battered, and not too oily. Interestingly it did not come with any special side sauce, so we just used the green sauce - yay, more food to dunk in the green sauce! Having the option of at least a simple marinara sauce would have been nice though. The calamari was a huge portion. It does come with yucca fries underneath the calamari to, you know, make it look fuller (is my guess) but I'm not complaining. The manduros were okay. It was a good amount of food and we definitely had leftovers for the next day. We probably would just stick with the chicken next time versus venturing out and ordering beef here again. In terms of their service, I don't have any complaints. The service was quick and attentive. Prices are very reasonable and they have some great combo specials. I see myself coming back. read more

I had their half-chicken with rice and beans and was really satisfied. Huge portion sizes and inexpensive prices make me happy. The chicken was well seasoned, extremely juicy and uber tender. Their rice and beans were also pretty decadent. Washed it all down with their chicha morada which was pretty refreshing. The aftertaste was somewhat tart, but I guess it just takes some getting accustomed to. Overall, I had a pretty solid first experience at El Pollo Inka. I was full after finishing my meal and best of all, it was all for under $15! Service was quick and efficient and COVID protocols were enforced. I've lived in or around Forest Hills for some time. I stop in to grab food only a few times a year but have noticed a serious decline in service. The wait staff is completely oblivious to their poor service. You wait to place an order with not even a glance your way and the table service isn't much better. Maybe they're young or maybe they don't care. Either way it's not cool. Such a shame because the food is still pretty good.
