1 Star I've been a loyal customer for years -- I even drive over 40 minutes just to eat here because the food has always been worth it. But today changed everything. The pollo was dry, totally not up to their usual quality. Our server dropped the food off and disappeared. Never checked in, never asked if everything was okay. Another server eventually stepped in so I could place a to-go order. Then came the bill... and to my surprise, they automatically added the tip. Just my wife and I having lunch -- no big group, nothing fancy -- and they didn't even ask. I've come here with 3 or more people before and never had this happen. I always tip well, but this felt wrong. Really disappointed. After all these years supporting this place, I'm sad to say I won't be coming back.

I went there for soup. I paid $6 for a chicken leg, scallions and broth. It also had chunks of garlic cloves -_- DISGUSTING... It didn't come with noodles or rice!!! Waste of money!

Local Peruvian Spot Near Me. Affordable Food. Best To Get The Family Meal. So You Can Get A Variety Of Food. I Would Rather Eat In Instead Of Take Out. Either Way You Get What You Get. I Would Vome Back Again.

Wow !!! Should have walked out but I was very hungry & craving their chicken !! This review has nothing to do with their food !! It was based on the way I was greeted & treated !! Horrible customer service with attitude !!!! I work hard for my money so when I enter any establishment I want to be treated with respect & a Lil gratitude because I can go eat any where I please but today I was craving Roasted Chicken ... Friday 10/22/31 @ about 12:15 pm, was on Queens Blvd. and decided to eat here !!! Walked in the place was empty; upon entering from the left entrance door you kind up walk to a split.. you can either go to the right of left there's a wall up the middle and one counter that runs through both sides !! No signs posted to direct you so I went right !! Two female workers wrapped up in a big conversation & one was on her cell phone ... like ok .. I yelled out what side for take out ?? So I stayed to the right !! I'm a righty !!! Then I get ignored while standing there & looked at in the face mind you & then I get told wrong side !!! Ok, I let that go... I placed my order 1/2 chicken with Salad .. asked for a green sauce for my salad dressing ... strange looks !! Then my order comes out ... I check the bag only 1 green sauce .. so I ask for another ... her look was priceless!! Then a cook happened to be upfront he gladly handed me the 2nd green sauce .. the cooks are more friendly then the woman up front !! Only 1 Napkin that came in the pre packed fork & knife take out ... No Salt & Pepper !! I mean the salt & pepper no big deal but no extra napkins !! WT !! ?? The food was delicious & on point but the experience at the counter to order was unprofessional !!! She had an attitude; was nasty !! Load !!! I would have like to say she's a Lil racy towards non Hispanic people !!! After reading some of the reviews Yelp I'm right !! So I will never return to this place again !!! I've patronized their other location and never experienced this kind of treatment !!! Take a look at some of their other reviews / pictures I've posted !! Pass this place up is you don't have a Spanish speaking person with you !!! Sooooo Long Inka your a real Stinka !! Thanks, Greg D.

Good service, good food, good vibe. Went on a Saturday to the Peruvian restaurant with 5 family members. $$ Food was fresh and Yummy. The restaurant was clean, not too packed. Sangria was good too. Found street meter parking easily. The waitresses were nice. Will go again.

A few minutes later a waiter took our order. We got papa huancaina, yuca fries, lomo salteado and sugar free inca cola. Everything was delicious and not spicy at all. I've had the papa huancaina at family functions and it's always spicy so being able to try this version was refreshing. The ambiance was very plain as there weren't many Inca decor. Nor any photos of Peru. The restaurant looked clean as were the restrooms. There's metered parking.

I live in New Jersey, and I knew that if I didn't eat somewhere near the airport, I was probably not going to eat at all that night. We ordered papa a la huancaína, a tamal, and leche de tigre, and the total came to about $48, which Its affordable by the area standards. Peruvian food is not necessarily cheap, so my issue was not mainly the price. My issue was the quality and the care behind the food. Its important to note here I am Peruvian, so I say this with real knowledge of the cuisine and with disappointment, not malice. The papa a la huancaína came with about four or five potato pieces, half an egg, one lettuce leaf, and no olive. Quantity-wise, the potatoes were fine, but the sauce told the whole story. It barely tasted like ají amarillo, and the flavor felt muted and commercial, like it was made more for cost control than for enjoyment. Huancaína sauce should have character, richness, and that unmistakable Peruvian flavor. This one felt flat. The tamal was decent in flavor, so I will give credit there, but it had only one slice of pork, no egg, and very little ají. It was a good size, but still did not feel worth the price. Again, it felt like the ingredients were being stretched too far. The most disappointing item was the leche de tigre. This is a dish that deserves much more respect because for many people, ceviche and related dishes are among the most recognized parts of Peruvian cuisine. This preparation did not feel delicate or authentic. It tasted like corners were cut. As someone who knows Peruvian food and has worked in restaurants before, I understand that using enough lime to properly prepare fish is expensive in the U.S. But that is exactly the point: if you are going to serve this dish, then do it right. If not, don't present it as something special. $21 for this? Honestly, I felt CHEATED. What frustrated me most is that this restaurant clearly has potential. The decor is nice, ready for selfies and Instagram pictures; you can tell effort was put into the presentation of the space. But to me, it felt like more attention went into ambiance than into the food itself. My impression was that the restaurant is aimed more at people who are not very familiar with Peruvian food and may accept a more mediocre version of it. For someone who truly knows and loves Peruvian cuisine, this was disappointing. I've had much better Peruvian food in less polished places in New Jersey, especially in Paterson. The decor at Mixtura may be prettier, but the food I had there was, at best, low-end mediocre. I ate it because I was hungry and it was late, and I appreciate that they were open when I needed a meal. But I would not go back, even in the same situation again. If you are Peruvian or very familiar with authentic Peruvian food, this may not be the place for you. If you are simply craving something nearby and are not especially focused on authenticity or quality, then maybe it will work for you. But for me, this is a one-time visit only. Sorry, its a NO-GO for a second visit.

We shared the ceviche mixto, arroz con mariscos, and a dulce de leche dessert with tulle and cookies. The appetizer and entrée were excellent; the ceviche mixto was incredibly fresh, and the seafood in the arroz was perfectly cooked, with rice that was well-seasoned and flavorful. Unfortunately, the ice cream in the dessert was grainy, as if it had been sitting too long. This could have easily been a five-star experience. I wouldn't have held the dessert against them, but the service fell short. When we arrived, the server was on her phone and minimally attentive. Communication was a bit difficult, especially when asking about desserts which weren't on the menu. We had moved a candle from another table because it was so dark, and although she noticed, she didn't offer assistance. After dropping off our food, she didn't check on us at all and remained up front on her phone. She did inform us ahead of time that the credit card machine wasn't working, so payment would need to be cash or Zelle, which was fine. However, when we paid in cash, she didn't return with change, we had to ask for it, and she then disappeared to the back to retrieve it. The whole process was awkward. That said, the entrée was so good that I'd consider coming back to try more dishes...hopefully with better service next time.
