You can also get your stereo installed in your car or windows tinted on the spot. My couson bought some potted rosemary. The list goes on and on. Come with plenty of cash, reusable bags, and comfortable shoes. Even the most comfortable shoes are no match for this place. You will get tired despite the roofs covering the beating sun. There are plenty of places to sit and rest. There are food stalls for ice cream, snow cones, tacos, etc. There's also a live band of conjunto music set to extremely loud. I go for the mineral makeup (find the lady that sells 8 for $20), my Avon staples (the woman in the wheel chair has the best deals --Anew day/night for $20 each-- and gives you freebies), nail polish ($1 each) and the random stuff you didn't know you needed. We did score some fresh mangoes on this trip. I took $40 and that was enough for the day. I had this new listing added, and I'll fix the flea part later. My couple of pictures only represent one twentieth of what's here. I could have spent two hours here. This certainly isn't a "flea" market because there is beautiful furniture in here--many in individual consignment booths; others have permanent set ups. They also conduct auctions, one regular one is the first Thursday of every month; and from time to time, they conduct specialty auctions selling jewelry and other collectibles. They have specific estate auctions too. Come check out this nicely adorned, air conditioned marketplace, where you are free to browse without being harassed or watched; however, staff is here to answer your questions.

We were amazed at all the stalls; a seemingly endless circuit of...everything. Old console games, metalwork, body piercing jewelry, handmade items of all sorts. Also a wealth of antique items. Bring some cash, or they have an ATM, not all vendors take a card. Food stalls are spaced throughout with food to ruin your diet and, of course, beer. It was my first time since I was very young visiting SATX and I am so grateful to have visited the…read moreHistoric Market Square while I was in Texas. It was truly one of the highlights of my trip and I would highly recommend visiting to anyone in the area, and I hope to go again in the future! The parking nearby was a short walk but nothing crazy, and once we got to the Market it was shaded very well and had such a variety of stands both inside and outside of the buildings which I loved. It was a little hot outside so it was nice to be able to rotate between both areas. There was also such a great mix of stores, restaurants, snack stands, and artisans and crafts throughout. We grabbed some aguas frescas to sip on while we explored and they were delicious and a great price for how big they were. We had a big breakfast but it would be nice to try some of the many lunch spots they had throughout the market. The stores had everything but I loved the amount of talavera pottery to choose from and stocked up as much as my suitcase would allow. Prices are super reasonable as well considering these are handmade artisan pieces. I use my tazas everyday and they are the best coffee cups I have ever had. The merchants are super friendly and helpful as well. Everyone was very welcoming and made it a great experience. I hope to be back in the future!

There were food, drink, and craft vendors selling in the outdoor market which made the ambiance very lively but not too crowded, as well as live music. Unfortunately, the vendors' food was underwhelming and expensive. I was coming from California and was excited to compare Mexican street food in Texas, but the options were very bland. Esquites - $12, 5 street tacos - $18, Chicken Gorditas -$11, Agua Fresca -$10 I did enjoy looking inside the markets (don't forget there are 2 different buildings for you to do your shopping). You can find some inexpensive souvenirs mixed in with some of higher price points.
