I'm not usually one to complain about food. I enjoy all kinds of meals and can usually overlook minor issues, but this experience was genuinely disappointing. I ordered the "large" pointer special, and what I received looked more like a small portion. On top of that, it came with little to no cheese sauce at all, which really took away from the dish. The chicken was honestly the only thing that kept it from being completely bland, but overall it felt like bland on top of bland. To make matters worse, it's overpriced. Paying around $20 for something this underwhelming is hard to justify, especially when you can get a portion nearly twice the size and better quality elsewhere. We wanted to try this restaurant for awhile since we don't care for the other Mexican restaurant in town and we were very happy we did. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious!! They have 3 different complimentary salsas to choose from which were all good, the chips were thin and crispy. My fish tacos were the special of the day and we're amazing! They were served with rice which was flavorful and homemade potato chips My hubby had the large Juanita, it was huge for $8.99 and also delicious. We will definitely be going back! read more

It was a clean though and we were seating promptly. Our drink orders taken quickly. The chips and salsa came out fast. First we were not told there was a mild and spicy salsa. I like spicy but not everyone in my party does. One of my party got the spicy and was not very happy. The salsa to me was bland. Nothing special. Our orders came out quickly. My wife like her dish. I got the house special fajitas and was very disappointed. It was under spiced and bland. The portion was small as well. The beans were cold and very lumpy. Not impressed. I hate to dump on local businesses but our food was tasteless, the salsa was bland, and my $8 taco salad was minuscule. Our food was quick and our waitress was nice. The manager made no attempt to apologize or fix the issue when over half the table complained about their food. I paid just under $12 for my meal of a small side of guac and the ridiculous excuse for a taco salad that didn't even taste good. I'm mad. I'll never be back. Take an extra 10 minutes to drive over the bridge and go to La Huerta or La Fiesta. read more

Just passing through town and saw this place and decided to get a quick bite to eat. Ordered the chicken fajitas and it came out really fast. Chicken was tender but the dish was made up of bell peppers, onions, and what seemed like canned tomato sauce. Served with a second dish with a dollop of sour cream and guac, 3 flour tortillas, rice and refried beans. The guac was watery looking and pre made, not fresh. Rice and beans were average but decent. Don't expect authentic Mexican food if you come here. The menu said ribeye carne asada ... and they use ground beef on their taco specials. read more

The food here is amazing! My boyfriend and I ordered our food from an online service but it kept being delayed. The restaurant called us to let us know our food had been ready for a while. We ended up cancelling our order with the delivery service as the driver was still not able to pick it up. The restaurant insisted on remaking our food because it had been sitting for a while and wouldn't be as good. That is the level of customer service and care about food that is missing in a lot of restaurants. It was worth the drive to pick up & the couple that gave us our food were kind and nice to chat with too. My boyfriend and I plan on eating here again the next time we visit because the food is fresh and tastes SO GOOD!! read more

MEH. Got a combo platter. Edible, yes... there was nothing on it that I would order again. The salsa is not much different than Campbell's tomato soup in taste. Pleasantly surprised!! My husband had the nachos and I had a beef Chimi. He liked his nachos, but did wish there had been more melted white cheese under and on top of the nachos. My Beef Chimi was HUGE, hot and very tasty. Served with a healthy helping of good Mexican rice and a cute little "salad" in a mini tortilla bowl, consisting of meat in cheese sauce on the bottom, lettuce with a big dollop of Guac on top. All in all it was good eating. The owner was by our table twice, a very nice guy, the wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. We will be back. Prices are good and so is the food. The salsa tasted like Campbell's Tomato Soup. I ordered fajitas. The tortillas were clearly store-bought. Yuk. The meat looked kind of questionable, so only ate a little. My husband had enchiladas. The corn tortillas were hard, cold, and uncooked. Oh yeah, and the waiter came back to our table 4 times to clarify each adult's order, one at a time. He was clearly unfamiliar with the menu. I've had Mexican all over the country. This is below-average standard Mexican fare. It's like the school lunch folks had a picture of Mexican food and tried to make it. The picante sauce that came with the chips tasted like tomato soup with some Tabasco sauce in it. The salsa verde sauce was just pureed tomatillos. The point being, the whole plate -- taco, enchilada, chile relleno, rice, beans, was lacking the spicing and depth of flavor most other Mexican joints find pretty effortless to achieve. don't get me wrong -- it was fresh, nicely plated, decent portions for the price. The service was friendly and attentive. The food just lacked the level of flavor customers deserve. I wanted to go back to the kitchen and explain what cilantro and cumin could do for them. I ate here before it closed down and reopened. We went for Father's Day so our group had about 15 people. We were all eating. I had a chicken quesadilla I was just about done so I flipped my quesadilla open. Sitting on top of my last bite was a dead roach. The waiter laughed it off and the owner didn't charge anyone at the table. It shut down shortly after that. After it reopened I was still not going back. I finally went back earlier this year with a few friends about 6 of us. The waiter brings out chips and salsa and a couple roaches come crawling out from under the salsa bowl and one from the chip basket. We left and I will never go back! read more

I hope this review serves its purpose to let people know that Las Fresas Mexican Restaurant is the worst restaurant I've ever had the displeasure of eating at. As a party of three, we ordered the Lunch Special #7 and #10 and the Taco Salad. To start off, the meat in the enchilada and burrito tasted like cat food and we couldn't differentiate the burrito from the enchilada. Next, the beef fajitas weren't the worst, but they did leave more to be wanted, the rice was tacky and pasty, also. finally, the taco salad with chicken tasted like it was mixed with cream of mushroom soup and sat over night then served the next day. the taco bowl itself was soggy from the liquid secreting from the chicken. overall, we all left disgusted and promising to never come back. the moral of the story, if there was a "0 Star" option, I'd be sure to select it. read more
