Awesome! Our server Jeremy was professional and efficient. We got a couple coffees to start with to try to get us over the coast-to-coast time difference and also to warm up (it had been a brisk windy 48 degrees all morning!) Then we ordered a Farmer's salad with blackened chicken and the Bangers and mash. The food came out maybe 25-30 minutes later, oh and worth the wait! Because the blackened chicken was piping hot, I wish it had been slightly to the side of the spring mix lettuce so that the salad would be a bit crisper but the flavors were wonderful. It came with a balsamic vinaigrette. My husband's Bangers and Mash included garlicky mashed potatoes, a rich thick mushroom gravy, and flavorful sausages, all on a bed of vegetables. Mmm super satisfying. Cozy welcoming ambience. Reasonable prices for the quality and quantity of food I think.

Typical Irish like bar, you could tell there were some typical "regulars", they had food ball on. The handicapped (upstairs) bathroom definitely had "the smell", but sometimes can be expected in older building. They did not have a liquor list which was disappointing because I had to try and find out what whiskey/bourbons they had by looking at the bottles on the shelves. As for food, my party and I ordered the Steak and ale spring rolls, steak tips, and bangers/mash. The food was way better than I expected. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious! Jesse, our bartender/server was definitely hustling around with the growing crowd, but was excellent, very personable and friendly.

After being dragged here once we've returned two more times and just enjoy the pure mayhem of it all. Irish-American folks and wannabees all running amok. The real acid-test of this bar was the fact that staff as well as customers are friendly and fun-loving unconditionally. Our first go-around was in the company of a local celebrity -- the drinks came fast and kept coming. Several customers ambled over to meet & greet our friend. Next visit we went without him and yet found the service swift and the atmosphere quite friendly. One in our party became rather obviously drunk -- and but for being shut-off he was not made to feel uncomfortable nor were we. Mind you, our crew is usually very well-behaved. But, hey, this place brings out the lush in all of us, I guess. On a recent afternoon we discovered there was some kind of food, roast beef with potatoes and gravy, I think. It smelled awesome but we were here for the booze. Cheerful, efficient bar staff kept 'em coming. Our visits were all week-end afternoons, so can't comment on the night life. This isn't a hip trendy spot like some of the other "Irish" bars, it's a nice stop on the way home from work or on the weekends. The outside seating is comfortable and relaxing. Great staff is attentive and doesn't rush you along if you have a question.

"She is dearer by far Than the world's brightest star,…read moreAnd I call her my wild Irish Rose" (The Mills Brothers) How many local bands do you follow? We follow three -Jake Kulak and the Modern Vandals, Suburban Escape Plan, and Intergalactic Kegger, and have seen all three at least half a dozen times. So, when we learned that Intergalactic Kegger was playing at the Irish American Home Society, we made plans to join a bunch of friends there. You need to be a member, or know a member to get in, and there is a checkpoint at the door where you are asked about membership status. We aren't members, but we know one of the guys in the band and his wife are, so we signed in as their guests and paid the $5 non-member cover charge. I could not believe how PACKED the downstairs bar area was. Yes, it was a Friday night, but it was only 6:15 or so, but it was so crowded it was hard to walk through the throng and even more difficult to find a few open tables. Once we settled down and claimed a space to sit, we walked over to the bar and, of course, had to order a cold perfectly poured Guiness. The bartender was a pro and poured it in two stages to minimize the foam and fill the glass with as many milliliters of that great Irish Stout as humanly possible. The ambience in the downstairs space was fantastic. We saw families with children, a young couple playing darts, and hundreds of fun-loving people of all ages dancing and having a grand old time. We interacted with a few customers when it came time to move around a few tables and chairs, and everyone was as friendly and cooperative as could be. There was food service last night, provided by Glastonbury's Tenth Hole Tavern. To order, we walked over to a counter to the right of the bar, and chose among a cup of chili, order of wings, shrimp tacos, a hot dog, and three sandwiches. Payment can be made by cash or Venmo. We ordered Shrimp Tacos ($16), a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($15), and a basket of fries ($7). My tacos were great- three big ones with a sweet chili panko crust, shredded cabbage, and pico on flour tortillas. I've had skimpier portions in a lot of restaurants for the same price. And yes, they sure paired well with that cold smooth Guiness. The sound system was great, and at a reasonable volume so we could enjoy the music and still have conversations at our table. What a fun experience!
