PROS: Great service, great prices, good food, many choices, comfy indoor & outdoors, fun & cool sports bar, as always. I've enjoyed this awesome local establishment for decades. CON: Minus 3 stars for an awful & obnoxiously LOUD musician. YUCK! Totally ruined the atmosphere. Could not talk to anyone. I could physically feel the pounding rhythm in the booth furniture & table. Now don't get me wrong--I adore music! Especially live local talent. I do go to concerts. And, I AM a professional musician/recording artist & have been employed as such since I was a teen in Miami! I have many musician friends of all levels & respect them all. Sorry, But this was just G-dawful. DIAMOND managers I implore you--Please do not damage everyone's hearing with this guy assaulting ears everywhere anymore! Ugh what a shame! Can you hear me?

Diamond is a longtime Glastonbury small neighborhood bar and restaurant. I've never been a regular. Through the years, I've watched important Red Sox games there, met friends for special occasions, ate outside, etc. It's a good spot for all of those things. Recently, my family had dinner there. I had some spicy BBQ wings, Reuben Eggrolls, and nachos. The Reuben Eggrolls were up there with the best I've had. Great texture and filling. The wings and nachos were both good. The Diamond has good food and it's a good place to spend time. Four Stars

Husband and I stopped in for a burger and a beer on a trip down to Connecticut this past weekend. Sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by a friendly bartender. We each enjoyed a beer or two, I had a classic cheeseburger with onion rings, my husband had a Paddy Melt with steak fries. Cheeseburgers were cooked to perfectly at medium temp. Onion rings were fantastic steak fried were pretty average. Overall pretty satisfied with out visit.

Great spot for lunch! I always pass this place & I decided to drop5in for lunch at 1p. I was surprised how empty it was, but equally thankful. I immediately noticed all the sports deco & appreciated they didn't pick a NY or New England side. This is nuetral territory for Those NY & Boston die hard fans. My party of 2 was greeted immediately & our orders were put in. The Rodeo Burger & The Diamond Deluxe (plain) . These burgers are massive, not to mention, juicy & the cook on them were perfect! I had mine medium, while the other wasmedium well. The Rodeo was dripping with goodness & the lil spice that came from the jalapeños were cut by the sweetnees of the BBQ sauce & melty cheese. The onion rings had a crunchy crunch to them that balanced the texture. This artistry had me humming & mmm'ing with every bite. Let me not forget the fries! If I only ordered a basket as my meal, I'd still be awwing & ooo'ing. They were golden, crisp & hot. I can't comment on the Diamond Deluxe, since it was ordered plain & I didn't want to destroy my experience with my meal lol. I will say they both smelled too good to eat. Any time I'm in the area, I'll hit this spot up. I also added their restaurant to my Happy Hour collection. Can't wait to go back & try some other options.

Ordered two things from here: pub pretzels and a caesar salad. I ate one and a half of the pretzels before finding this GIANT HAIRBALL ENTWINED IN THE REMAINING TWO PRETZELS. Absolutely disgusting. Threw the rest of the pretzels and the caesar salad away because I could not stomach eating anything else from there.

Today is Veterans Day and I invited my sister and daughter out to lunch! Since it's still Nachovember, I suggested The Diamond! Like I said in my first review, the staff is ALWAYS moving! Tiffany waited on us and was super friendly and sweet! We started off with NACHOS!! My sister got a Sams Winter on this warm November afternoon! I got a BLT, my daughter got a wrap, and my sister got a chicken sandwich. Great food, great company, great pub! Thank you The Diamond Pub for supporting Nachovember!!

Dangerous levels of ambient noise in restaurant
    Aaron S.

Tonight I enjoyed a great dinner from and awesome service at the Diamond. So why am I leaving unhappy? Because I am wondering if I should seek medical attention! The fact that the band playing was terrible did not particularly disturb me...restaurant talent is hit or miss. But the fact that they chose to play at noise levels that are implicitly dangerous and can result in permanent hearing loss is a HUGE concern. 90 db is enough to cause permanent damage after only 2 hours; 100 db is as loud as a plane taking off. Is there any reason a band needs to exceed the noise level of a plane engine? Bad music is a minor annoyance. Loud bad music ruins any ambience a restaurant has, making it impossible to speak to your dining companions. Dangerously loud music is a health hazard and if not illegal, at the very least demonstrates a complete lack of concern for the welfare of your customer. Come now Diamond, you can do better.

(Last visited 10/24/2020.) We heard through the grapevine that this place was starting up weekend brunches so we had to give them a try! This is the part where I tell you that they should stick to being a sports bar... and to serving their delicious wings... Atmosphere/Appearance: As I've mentioned before this is a sports bar. Straight up, through and through. There is a private parking lot though! Service: This is a hit or miss category so I'll explain more in the next paragraph. Food: So, good news first. The wings are delicious. They're served hot, crispy and with a good choice of sauces. This place is WELL-KNOWN for their grand wings, so hats off to them for that. Sometimes it takes almost no thought to order up a 50-ball on a Sunday while watching some football. Brunch however... the mimosas were nasty. WE DON'T WANT TO DRINK PURE ORANGE JUICE. A mimosa is a mixture of champagne or prosecco or sparkling wine with orange juice. If we request light orange juice, why is it a problem to give us that? Especially if they're "bottomless"? I don't want to hear anything about regulations or anything because there are many restaurants we've been to that honor that request. We even tried giving the waitresses ideas on how to give us the light orange juice we requested. Then they started giving us attitude. Like, why are you mad with us?! We're not getting what we're asking for. We're getting a whole lot of acid reflux from all the damn orange juice. We should be the ones with attitudes. Lol. Eventually the brunch timer ended and we still did not get what we wanted... Value: I can't remember the prices for the mimosas, but you can get an order of 12 wings for $15.00. That's actually a pretty good deal. In conclusion, I'm not writing this place off entirely, but just for brunch. I've ordered wings from here numerous times, but have never eaten indoors. It just sucks that the first time that I do, it wasn't a great experience. So, I'll be sticking to the wings. Funny, on their website there's a brunch tab... it doesn't work now when I try to check out the menu. I wonder if they themselves agree with me... Hmm...

Some of the best wings in the local area. Crispy and flavorful. The sweet chili wings were out of this world! And of course I had to get nachos while still in #nachovember This place is a Glastonbury staple and one I would hit up when you just want good bar food and drinks

If you come here, get the wings! They were crispy, saucy, and not too fatty. The blue cheese and ranch were both so thick and flavorful - they tasted homemade. For mains, I had the blackened shrimp tacos with rice and my friend had the burger club. The tacos were full, flavorful, and not dry at all. The rice was very bland, I recommend opting for a different side. My friend enjoyed the burger club and mentioned the bread it came on was very tasty and the fries were crispy. I took a star off for the service. Our server seemed annoyed we were even there. He didn't write anything down and forgot a few things because of that. It seemed like we had to get his attention for anything we needed and he was annoyed when we mentioned the things he forgot.

Stopped into Diamond for a bite and some drinks. My husband had the blackened shrimp tacos, and I had the Taco Salad. Both were excellent. We sat at the bar, and the bartender, Amy, was excellent. She was very attentive and sweet. We have been to the Diamond many times and have always had a great experience. They have an excellent happy hour. And we have never had a bad meal or experience. I highly recommend it here.

My husband loves this bar because back in a day his roommate called him Diamond. We go there quite often. Kitchen is simple, but super tasty. Everything is good. Happy hour prices are cheaper, but you will get half potions. No savings there.

"She is dearer by far Than the world's brightest star,…read moreAnd I call her my wild Irish Rose" (The Mills Brothers) How many local bands do you follow? We follow three -Jake Kulak and the Modern Vandals, Suburban Escape Plan, and Intergalactic Kegger, and have seen all three at least half a dozen times. So, when we learned that Intergalactic Kegger was playing at the Irish American Home Society, we made plans to join a bunch of friends there. You need to be a member, or know a member to get in, and there is a checkpoint at the door where you are asked about membership status. We aren't members, but we know one of the guys in the band and his wife are, so we signed in as their guests and paid the $5 non-member cover charge. I could not believe how PACKED the downstairs bar area was. Yes, it was a Friday night, but it was only 6:15 or so, but it was so crowded it was hard to walk through the throng and even more difficult to find a few open tables. Once we settled down and claimed a space to sit, we walked over to the bar and, of course, had to order a cold perfectly poured Guiness. The bartender was a pro and poured it in two stages to minimize the foam and fill the glass with as many milliliters of that great Irish Stout as humanly possible. The ambience in the downstairs space was fantastic. We saw families with children, a young couple playing darts, and hundreds of fun-loving people of all ages dancing and having a grand old time. We interacted with a few customers when it came time to move around a few tables and chairs, and everyone was as friendly and cooperative as could be. There was food service last night, provided by Glastonbury's Tenth Hole Tavern. To order, we walked over to a counter to the right of the bar, and chose among a cup of chili, order of wings, shrimp tacos, a hot dog, and three sandwiches. Payment can be made by cash or Venmo. We ordered Shrimp Tacos ($16), a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($15), and a basket of fries ($7). My tacos were great- three big ones with a sweet chili panko crust, shredded cabbage, and pico on flour tortillas. I've had skimpier portions in a lot of restaurants for the same price. And yes, they sure paired well with that cold smooth Guiness. The sound system was great, and at a reasonable volume so we could enjoy the music and still have conversations at our table. What a fun experience!

Still really good food…read more Returned to this location to see if they were still doing well. Got a full English breakfast special, minus the blood sausage. Also ordered a mocktail of a basil lemonade. The drink was not too sweet and the basil added a tiny touch of herby savoryness which was a nice accent flavor. The full English breakfast was cooked well, good quality ingredients and each element was seasoned appropriately. I could only make a small dent in the dish before sending it back satisfied. The server was friendly, but I threw them off with my quirky behavior. Lead to a little slower service and multiple requests for some items. Nothing against the establishment, just something that happened during my visit. Still a strong recommendation for Main Street, and worth a trek to try.

I'm back! I love this place! It's quiet here ) it's only a Tuesday) but we're late (arrived at 9:15…read morePM). There is no shortage of decor here! I like the huge carafe of ice water and the spicy potato chips! For my first drink, I'm having a Negroni. A negroni is an Italian cocktail, made of equal parts gin, vermouth rosso (red, semi-sweet), and Campari, generally served with ice, and commonly garnished with an orange slice or orange peel. It is considered an apéritif. They also have an Obi Wan Negroni made with Cold Brew Infused Campari instead. For my first food item, I'm having the Cream of Mushroom soup with chicken. Cream of mushroom soup is a simple type of soup where a basic roux is thinned with creamor milk and then mushrooms or mushroom brothare added. This is delicious! It's nice and hot with a lot of shredded chicken. For my entree, I'm having the Brussels Sprout Salad made with shaved Brussels sprouts, spring mix, bacon, pomegranate drizzle, silvered almonds, shaved Parmesan and lemon vinaigrette dressing. Look at the height of this! This tastes great! I am also having a side of mushy peas. Mushy peas are a traditional British side dish of marrowfat peas that are cooked until soft and mashed into a mush. The dish is especially popular in Northern England and the Midlands, and often eaten with fish and chips or served as part of "pie and peas". Here's a quick overview of mushy peas: Ingredients** Traditionally made with dried marrowfat peas, but can be substituted with frozen peas or green split peas. I love this! It's nice and hot.,What a rare treat! This is hard to find anywhere! I'm also having a side of cold slaw. Coleslaw, or "slaw" in North America, is a side dish of shredded cabbage with a vinaigrette or mayo-based dressing. The word "coleslaw" comes from the Dutch term koolsla, meaning "cabbage salad". Recipes vary by region and can include additional ingredients like carrots, apples, raisins, or celery. Coleslaw originated in the Netherlands in the 18th century, but references to similar cabbage salads appear in ancient Greek and Roman medical texts. This is the best! Nice, thick dressing! For my last drink, I'm having a Godfather. The Godfather is a sweet and strong cocktail that blends Scotch whisky and amaretto liqueur. It's typically served in an old-fashioned glass over ice and can be garnished with an orange twist. The drink became popular in the 1970s disco scene and is named after the 1972 film starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino. Some say bartender Joe Scialom created the Godfather to capture the movie's spirit. This is done just right! Good job! What a great meal here!
