Diamond is a longtime Glastonbury small neighborhood bar and restaurant. I've never been a regular. Through the years, I've watched important Red Sox games there, met friends for special occasions, ate outside, etc. It's a good spot for all of those things. Recently, my family had dinner there. I had some spicy BBQ wings, Reuben Eggrolls, and nachos. The Reuben Eggrolls were up there with the best I've had. Great texture and filling. The wings and nachos were both good. Husband and I stopped in for a burger and a beer on a trip down to Connecticut this past weekend. Sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by a friendly bartender. We each enjoyed a beer or two, I had a classic cheeseburger with onion rings, my husband had a Paddy Melt with steak fries. Cheeseburgers were cooked to perfectly at medium temp. Great spot for lunch! I always pass this place & I decided to drop5in for lunch at 1p. I was surprised how empty it was, but equally thankful. I immediately noticed all the sports deco & appreciated they didn't pick a NY or New England side. This is nuetral territory for Those NY & Boston die hard fans. My party of 2 was greeted immediately & our orders were put in. The Rodeo Burger & The Diamond Deluxe (plain) . These burgers are massive, not to mention, juicy & the cook on them were perfect! I had mine medium, while the other wasmedium well. The Rodeo was dripping with goodness & the lil spice that came from the jalapeños were cut by the sweetnees of the BBQ sauce & melty cheese. The onion rings had a crunchy crunch to them that balanced the texture. This artistry had me humming & mmm'ing with every bite. Let me not forget the fries! If I only ordered a basket as my meal, I'd still be awwing & ooo'ing. They were golden, crisp & hot. I can't comment on the Diamond Deluxe, since it was ordered plain & I didn't want to destroy my experience with my meal lol. I will say they both smelled too good to eat. This is an older restaurant that have been meaning to try for a long time, I got a chance to go here finally. Some corners of the restaurant are very dark, I had to use a flash light to read the menu. The place is dated and could use some renovation. There is a round bar in the middle, place is a bit too loud. Coming to service it was okay, once our food got served we didn't see our waiter for a long time, didn't even check on us if we wanted a refill on the soda. Coming to the food, our burgers that we ordered were so delicious and made perfectly. I got the Rodeo burger, and my son got the all American burger bot are perfect, got to try other burgers on the menu the next time. Also got the grilled steak kabobs didn't like em, too chewy and not cooked properly. Some recommendations I would like to give to the restaurant. 1. Add shakes and ice cream to your menu. 2. Renovate the place inside and get new furniture. 3. Parking lot is big but has no lines for the spots, it may need some resurfacing and paint job to look good. I recommend this place for some good burgers. Giving a 3 star only for the appearance and service. read more

Tonight I enjoyed a great dinner from and awesome service at the Diamond. So why am I leaving unhappy? Because I am wondering if I should seek medical attention! The fact that the band playing was terrible did not particularly disturb me...restaurant talent is hit or miss. But the fact that they chose to play at noise levels that are implicitly dangerous and can result in permanent hearing loss is a HUGE concern. 90 db is enough to cause permanent damage after only 2 hours; 100 db is as loud as a plane taking off. Is there any reason a band needs to exceed the noise level of a plane engine? Bad music is a minor annoyance. Loud bad music ruins any ambience a restaurant has, making it impossible to speak to your dining companions. Dangerously loud music is a health hazard and if not illegal, at the very least demonstrates a complete lack of concern for the welfare of your customer. Come now Diamond, you can do better. read more

Packed with booze enthusiasts on the weekend. Thus, the loud factor is quite apparent. Last time I was in the Diamond for drinks was in the seventies, and at closing time we got stuck in a barroom brawl. Yah, fond memories. Anyway, they redecorated since. For some reason, if you call for a takeout order, its like the staff doesnt know whats on their menu. " I'd like a DIAMOND DELUXE burger!" And the person at the other end says, " A what?" Its kinda strange. Anyway the first time I got a 'burger to go' the thing TOTALLY ROCKED. Cooked right, everything was on it, and then the next time it was like...OVERCOOKED AND DRY. It was like the person on the phone, who didnt know the menu, decided to go out back and try cooking a burger, AND FAILED. Once you get in there the crew is friendly and efficient, so thats a plus. Soooo... is it worth going into that noisy, crowded place for a hit or miss burger?? Maybe??? (Last visited 10/24/2020.) We heard through the grapevine that this place was starting up weekend brunches so we had to give them a try! This is the part where I tell you that they should stick to being a sports bar... and to serving their delicious wings... Atmosphere/Appearance: As I've mentioned before this is a sports bar. Straight up, through and through. There is a private parking lot though! Service: This is a hit or miss category so I'll explain more in the next paragraph. Food: So, good news first. The wings are delicious. They're served hot, crispy and with a good choice of sauces. This place is WELL-KNOWN for their grand wings, so hats off to them for that. Sometimes it takes almost no thought to order up a 50-ball on a Sunday while watching some football. Brunch however... the mimosas were nasty. WE DON'T WANT TO DRINK PURE ORANGE JUICE. A mimosa is a mixture of champagne or prosecco or sparkling wine with orange juice. If we request light orange juice, why is it a problem to give us that? Especially if they're "bottomless"? I don't want to hear anything about regulations or anything because there are many restaurants we've been to that honor that request. We even tried giving the waitresses ideas on how to give us the light orange juice we requested. Then they started giving us attitude. Like, why are you mad with us?! We're not getting what we're asking for. We're getting a whole lot of acid reflux from all the damn orange juice. We should be the ones with attitudes. Lol. Eventually the brunch timer ended and we still did not get what we wanted... Value: I can't remember the prices for the mimosas, but you can get an order of 12 wings for $15.00. That's actually a pretty good deal. In conclusion, I'm not writing this place off entirely, but just for brunch. I've ordered wings from here numerous times, but have never eaten indoors. It just sucks that the first time that I do, it wasn't a great experience. So, I'll be sticking to the wings. If you come here, get the wings! They were crispy, saucy, and not too fatty. The blue cheese and ranch were both so thick and flavorful - they tasted homemade. For mains, I had the blackened shrimp tacos with rice and my friend had the burger club. The tacos were full, flavorful, and not dry at all. The rice was very bland, I recommend opting for a different side. My friend enjoyed the burger club and mentioned the bread it came on was very tasty and the fries were crispy. I took a star off for the service. Our server seemed annoyed we were even there. He didn't write anything down and forgot a few things because of that. It seemed like we had to get his attention for anything we needed and he was annoyed when we mentioned the things he forgot. read more

She was very attentive and sweet. We have been to the Diamond many times and have always had a great experience. They have an excellent happy hour. And we have never had a bad meal or experience. Went here with some coworkers and the food was amazing. Not too far from Glastonbury center which makes it great if you need to get any shopping done. It is a centrally locates place. I was also surprised with the menu. They not only had the typical bar food but the menu also included some health options. I ordered the Shrimp Kabobs and they were amazing. I was not expecting to receive big jumbo shrimp. Accompanying my Kabobs I also ordered a Cesar tossed salad which was also great. The service I received was good. Let me apologize first of all, for not taking any pictures. I usually try to do that but I've been a little lazy lately. My wife ordered a burger salad, as we sat outside under an umbrella on a PERFECT day! I changed my course of action a little. Typically I've been doing the BLT circuit, grilling the bread; but today, instead of asking them to grill the bread, I asked them to simply toast the bread. (I have personally become a bit frustrated with bread that is grilled, because the sandwich gets a little bit too droopy, and hard to handle). The pickles were brought to me in slices, which was a little unusual, but not a problem; and of course it came with chips, and they did have sweetened iced tea! The BLT itself was perfect. The bacon was cooked (unlike the last place I had a BLT) And the sandwich held together really well. Lesson learned. Although sitting outside on the patio means looking at traffic on Hebron Avenue, you can still "people watch," and the seating is comfortable. Prices were fair, and the girl who served us was pleasant, well groomed and attentive. I suppose I could have given this local eatery five stars, because I really found no fault with what I ate, or the place itself, but I'm trying to reserve a five star rating for a place that is spectacular; and I want to be a little picky about that. read more

I used to frequent this place 20 years ago when I worked in the area late night. They remodeled a few years ago and we go often. The bar is huge and the place is often really busy. Good crowd of people and plenty of TVs for sports. But the food- is so so so good. Bar food is bar food usually but this is not bar food. First- the menu has a ton of selections. Lots of variety and something for every taste. Wings are great. The bowls are good but I love the sandwiches. I mostly get the steak teriyaki wrap and it's amazing. One of the best I've had. Food portions totally reasonable for the price. Drinks are great. They have some great cocktails. Their staff hustles and awesome service always. We just went the other night and sat outside. She joked and conversed with us throughout our time. She made a recommendation that was amazing! The food was delicious ! All food looked and tasted fresh and delicious ! Solid sports bar, and the only true sports bar in Glastonbury center. The Diamond isn't a *bad* spot, but you need to remember it's just a pub. So stick to bar food (duh) - burgers, fries, buffalo wings, etc. Fried food is key. Do not get the nachos, they are sadly underwhelming. Drink beer. Watch the game on TV. There's plenty of outdoor seating, the service is generally fast and friendly. This is a solid sports bar in Glastonbury with good food, decent prices, lots of TVs and lots of seating, both indoors and out. I've tried their wings, wraps and salad and I've never been disappointed. My mother and her friend have tried some of the dinner specials and have always enjoyed their meals. Oh, also when they have pizza night, they order the wings from here and the pizza from a nearby spot that obviously doesn't beat the buffalo wings at Diamond! Drinks aren't bad either, and they won't cost you a paycheck like some other nearby spots. It can get noisy, but it's a sports bar, we aren't telling you it's a romantic perfect first date spot, unless you're both sports fanatics. read more
