Wow well this was a sad experience. Came here for my birthday lunch with family. The server was all alone trying to wait on a dozen tables or more. We ordered an appetizer of nachos and a few burgers for mains. And waited. And waited. I was checking my watch often because we had two hours on the parking meter that was rapidly winding down to zero. Nachos came after a while. Nothing to write home about... almost stale chips with a cheese/sour cream/green onion and jalapeño topping. Maybe a dozen black beans in the mix. We waited again for our mains. After a total of an hour, they came. I ordered a black & blue burger and asked for tomato to be added. It arrived without the tomato, so I reminded the waitress about that. And eventually the tomato came from the kitchen. Single slice. But by this point the burger was getting cold. I opened the bun to put it on and then saw the kitchen forgot the onion strings. So I flagged her down again to ask and she apologized and went off... to clear other tables. After ten minutes I asked her if the onion rings were coming and she was confused, thinking I didn't want them because I asked for no onions on my salad. No, I just said no raw onion on the salad. She asked it I wanted the onion strings after all. At this point, the burger had been sitting for at least ten minutes and I told her to forget it and just remove it from the bill. She looked over her shoulder and said, "here comes the manager". The manager shows up, reaches over to adjust the umbrella on our table, then leaves. Without saying a word. He walks off and we don't know what's going on. The waitress returns and says she comped my burger 50%. I asked why not 100% because I'm not eating it at all. She blinks and says she'll check. Bill comes back with it removed from the total, and I'm missing my credit card. She runs back exclaiming how she forgot the card and probably could use some coffee today. Ummm, yeah. Never been to anywhere else like this. Had over 80+ beers on tap and had fridges full of caned and bottled beers. Very extensive collection both New England local beers and international all over the world and county options as well. You can make you own flight which is what we did and got to try so many options. We didn't eat there but they had a large food menu and they have a rewards loyalty system and can track all the beers you have tried! The staff was so friendly telling us what is popular and what might be similar to something we like. This is a good place to hang out (there are lots of TVs with various sports games on) and try a bunch of different types of beer. Their draft/ cans list is quite extensive, though they did seem to have a few kegs kicked without replacement for popular choices (such as Coors) which was surprising for a weekend night. Prices seemed relatively average. It does get a little loud in here even without music playing but I feel like this might be expected for this type of atmosphere. If you go with the expectation to eat mainly average bar and snack/app type foods, their options are good. The food menu isn't incredibly extensive though the German pretzel with the beer cheese was a must. We went with a large party later at night and our server was very attentive. Parking is paid until 10pm Monday-Saturday, but there is plenty around between meters and the garages. Would definitely like to try one of their events or trivia at some point. read more

After having chocolate ice cream & watching a movie nearby, World of Beer caught my eye while I was roaming around the shopping district where World of Beer is physically located. I figure why not. It was around 4 PM when I walked in. I assumed there was a restaurant bar, but it was basically a nice place to hang out and just enjoy the fact that I was on vacation here in Hartford, Connecticut. I was sad that I had to go home the next day, but I was here now and decided to drink a couple of beers before ordering dinner. I probably spent about a good hour and a half here from 4 PM to 5:30 PM, just before the dinner rush. It was nice to sit in one of the booths near the entrance. I started with a couple of beers to take the edge off. I asked the waitress for what is a good beer that was similar to a Guinness, and she brought back something that was pretty good and tasted similar to a Guinness. After enjoying that, I picked another local brew that was a pale ale and it was also pretty good as well. After 30 minutes had passed, the server asked me if if I wanted food. And so, now I decide to have dinner. I ended up Having everything boxed up and because I wanted to head back to the Airbnb that I was staying at for the last two days and enjoy my dinner in the comfort of the Airbnb. While I was waiting, I watched whatever was on the TVs at the time and watch people coming and go. It was one of those things where it was just nice just sitting there enjoying my vacation before it came to an end. It was a nice place to be when you want to have a beer or two in the heart of Hartford Connecticut. The overall experience here at the World of Beer gastropub and restaurant here in Hartford, Connecticut was good and basic while being typical at the same time. I did enjoy the ambiance a lot and got into it after having that second beer before preceding to order dinner. The good thing about World of Beer gastropub restaurant is that it was basically what I needed and was literally in walking distance from the Kilwins ice cream shop nearby. And definitely a delicious place to enjoy some libations and dinner before heading back to my Airbnb. The service was good and friendly, while being typical at the same time. I sat near the entrance but near the kitchen in a booth so I can see the action while deciding on what to have for dinner. The burger was good and delicious, along with the french fries that came with it. It was money well spent here especially after having 2 beers to take the edge off. The restaurant had mood lighting or what I thought was mood lighting. Dark enough to be for bright enough to see where you're going. For the most part though, the restaurant was fun and good to visit regularly if you're in the west Hartford area. Definitely worth checking out if you're into beer and bar food. And if you love that, take a seat here. They'll be glad to have you. I enjoyed myself here and hopefully you will too. It was a nice capstone to my trip here in May 2025. World of Beer gastropub and restaurant is located at 73 Isham Road in west Hartford, Connecticut. Like many restaurants and merchants in the industry, they accept major credit cards and cash as well. As far as parking goes, your best bet would be to use a paid parking garage nearby if you decide to do that. If not, find free parking on the street nearby and walk on over. For myself though, I got here after a friend dropped me off. Took an uber after leaving World of Beer with my take out. And of course, if you feel like riding the Hartford's public transportation system, consider the routes you could do from your starting point and end up here. And of course though, uber and Lyft is always there for your convenience and you can call them on demand. The beers are good and plentiful here. Not sure if I can recommend coming here alone but drink responsibly. Take an uber or call a friend if you feel you've drank enough. Still, World of Beer is a good place to hang out with friends. This place is so cool and I don't even like beer. I decided to go on a random night because I was in the area and wanted to get some wings and somehow ended up front row at a concert! Not only that, but there was no cover charge either! Theres also tv's all around the place so on a normal night im sure they always have any game you want on. For the wings, i got the Mongolian sweet wings which came with a huge amount of ranch, and when i asked the waitress for blue cheese she brought it in an equally big container. Definitely enough for like 20 wings, let alone the 6 i had. Which I don't think was intentional since it said 5 on the menu, but it was a more than welcome surprise. The bartender Alicia was nice enough to keep the slice in their refrigerator so that it would keep while me and my friends drank some beers. I ordered a flight of four beers. They included TwoConn American Blonde Ale from Two Roads Brewing Co.; Kilkenny cream ale; Alvarium Lil' Coconut Imperial Stout; and Chimay Cinq Cents. One of my buddies also ordered the same flight I did and said the Kilkenny might have been the best beer he's ever tasted. I agree, it was pretty smooth. My other friend was impressed with the Alvarium and had a full glass of it. There are plenty of options for those who know what they want and those who want to experiment a little. We sat outside on the patio and the food and service was good. The menu was vast for food and of course, beers. I had their traditional chicken wings with korean spicy gochujang sauce and Parmesan truffle fries which comes with truffle aioli; this meal was filling and delicious. I was originally very impressed with their food. However, I was there Friday November 14, 2025 and had to wait 30 minutes to be served. Two waitresses walked by and ignored us. The total for the night was $69.08, I left a $10 cash tip at the end of the night. Today I checked my bank statement on my credit card and found they charged me $85.28. When I called to address the issue they put me on hold and then blocked my number. The best part of world of beer other than the beer is that they have some good specials. My favorite special would have to be the weekly six dollar burgers they do. We came on Monday and each ordered our very own burger, which came with fries and a pickle. There was an option to upgrade your burger and fries, which most of us ended up doing. I would have to say the truffle fries were really something. Adding the truffle oil, and the cheese is a game changer. We had about six people in our group and there were no tables available for all. So we ended up grabbing two random chairs and pushing some tables together. The vibes in here are also really nice. After taking a road trip to West Hartford for dinner, we stopped at World of Beer for some late night drinks. My friend and I each got a flight (which to our dissapoinment did not come in a paddle, even after asking for them ) but the beers were great! I do not remember exactly the 8 different beers, sours, and IPA's we got, but I do remeber a few! My personal favorite was the Devil's Purse Hen and Chickens double IPA. I like a lighter fruity tang to an IPA, and that one did the trick! On a more sour note, I really didn't care for the Mast Landing All The Way Up. It tasted almost like coffee, and my friend who tried it didn't care for it either so we left it untouched. We stayed until closing and the restaurant remained packed up until that point! Those that they have from more local breweries make up a small portion of their menu. 2: They're more expensive than everywhere else. Every bar, every brewery, everywhere. A can of Grimm is $18, Dogfish 120 cost $25 (It's $10 in stores), A glass of OEC is $14 (and good for them for having OEC). Those are three examples, but that's the average vibe.
