My coworker just recently booked the restaurant for a private event for 50 people, however upon arriving they had booked another event at the same time. The inside is very small and barely accommodates 50 people on the restaurant side. The other half is the bar side. The whole place was packed and seemed to be understaffed for the amount of people there. It was probably way over the capacity limit for the restaurant. His party was booked since September and the other party was booked a few weeks prior to the day of the event per the waitress. As far as service, our cups were always empty, however the food was really good and nice and hot! The salsa was also very flavorful! My advice to be more efficient is to not double book large events especially with very limited indoor seating. The outdoor temp that evening was about 40 so the outside seating was not an option for either party.

Nice little find. I wanted TexMex which is unusual as I typically prefer interior Mexican or pure Mexican but today I had a craving for sour cream chicken enchiladas. $5.99 for lunch. Wow. What a deal! Salsa was amazing. Fresh veggies and nice spice level (hotter than most). Enchiladas were spot on and beans yummy! I just added salsa to enchiladas and rice for more spice. Service was friendly and timely and lots of parking options. Overall I can't find much wrong with this place other than it is stuck in a weird strip mall location but it's very good basic TexMex, which is really what most people want even though they don't admit it. If they made tortillas onsite it would really be something amazing. Overall - hidden neighborhood gem with a stop next time you are close and hankering for this type of food.

Best Tex-Mex for your money in town, not many frills but the food more than makes up for it.

I had previously tried to go to the Burnet Road location but they were PACKED on a Saturday night with a 90 minute wait but this time I called ahead to the the Parmer Lane location around 5:30 pm and put my name in. I arrived around 5:45 pm and was seated within 10 minutes. NOTES: - Reservations: no but you can call ahead to put your name in - Parking: free lot in front of the building - Online ordering: available on their website through ToastTab for pickup for delivery - Happy hour: weekdays from 3:00 to 6:00 pm with half off some food items, $7 Mamaritas and La Playas, and $1 off cocktails, liquor, beer, and wine - Brunch: served Sat & Sun from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm THE HIGHS: - Server was friendly and gave recommendations - Complimentary chips and salsa (refilled throughout the meal) - Food came out quickly after ordering THE LOWS: - Busy around dinner time and kind of loud (great for celebrations but hard to hear each other at the table) - A little dark on the inside THE PRICE: Reasonable for the portion size and quality of food - Small queso compuesto ($9.99) - Barbacoa quesadilla ($16.99) - Barbacoa tacos ($16.99) - Pechuga Barbie ($19.99) - Side of abuelita rice ($2.99) - Sopapillas Aaliyah ($7.99) BEST BITES: - Barbacoa: delicious in both the quesadilla and tacos... super tender and flavorful - Queso compuesto: the meat, homemade quad, and pico are all fresh and add great texture to the melted cheese... perfect appetizer to split with a group THE VERDICT: I'd definitely return to Mama Betty's and recommend it to others! The Tex-Mex dishes felt slightly elevated compared to some other places and I love that they are locally owned and operated. They can be busy but it's worth waiting if you plan ahead and have the time!

Both incredible and not too hot. I had the sirloin tampiqueño. I have never tasted steak so flavorful in my lifetime. Addictive and so tender and beautifully seasoned I couldn't even speak except for the mmmmm's... don't let the thin slice fool you. It was incredible!!! We also got the Friday night special Saudero taco on the HOMEMADE buttery delicious flour tortilla. Again the steak pieces in there were fantastic. The regular picadillo crispy taco was probably the best I've ever had. Homemade deep fried thick shells. Margaritas were expensive and small, but done RIGHT. Sam made them by hand not from a mix. It's a good balance because the food is FAIRLY PRICED!!! I am completely spoiled now and probably will just come here from now on. Next it's time to taste those great looking enchiladas!!!

We've had to wait about 45 mins for a table of 2 for lunch on a weekday, and the food is worth it. Be smart, plan ahead by several days and make a reservation on their website. Or be spontaneous and grab a drink from the bar and sit outside on the patio for a bit. I had one pretty big issue with waitstaff on my first visit, but that was quickly addressed by management and resolved in way that they've gained a customer for life. Can't speak highly enough of management.

I ordered 2 steak tacos and horchata, both very delicious. The horchata is milky and sweet but not crazy sweet, and topped off with cinnamon. The steak tacos came out pretty hot, fresh from the grill. I got them on corn tortillas and I'm glad I did: idk if they make them in house but somebody in some house is making these because they definitely aren't store bought, and if they are I want to know where! I tried the orange habanero and creamy serrano salsas. The habanero was spicy off the bat, while the serrano had more of a lingering burn. Both paired well with the steak. They have a little bar, too, though I did not imbibe this time. Seems like they have a decent selection of agave spirits, and even Campari behind the bar (iykyk). Give them a shot, and thank the ladies in the kitchen.
