We recently went for a birthday brunch. Restaurant Week was still in effect but we decided to choose from the regular brunch menu. Place was low key and giving neighborhood vibes. The service was 10 STARS! Our waitress was extremely attentive and kind. We were also checked on by a second staff member who I think may have been a manager but cannot be certain. We started with cocktails and they serve chips and salsa gratis. I had the Jalapeno and Hibiscus Margarita and my friend ordered the Pepper Margarita with Strawberry and Chipotle. Mine was a bit on the sweet side without a hint of tequila. My friend's drink definitely was the better of the two. Not overly sweet and definitely a flavor of tequila was present. We also ordered a guacamole. I must say it was quite small and barely served 2 people. I suggest if more than 2 guests are part of the experience, order more than one. For my entree, I requested a market salad and 2 veggie tacos with a side of birria consume. Salad was very fresh and I am sure was made to order as opposed to premade a week prior and waiting in a fridge to be served. My tacos were average but satisfying. The consume was a bit disappointing as it was more of a water/broth based and not of a typical gravy consistency. It was not exciting. My friend's entree was the highlight of the experience. She had the brisket quesadilla. Never have I seen a quesadilla with a crispy outside such as this. A culinary masterpiece indeed. She consumed it all and not one complaint afterward. Delish. We did receive a complimentary Churro plate for the birthday celebration. They were drizzled with caramel and berries. Served warm, they were a dream for the palate. I did use the bathroom which was a single stall. It was clean enough but not well lit. The biggest downfall of my experience was the temperature of the restaurant. I understand it is summer, however, there was no A/C and the inside was extremely hot. I sweated through my entire experience. Even the bathroom felt like 100 degrees. We did not complain but our waitress noticed and brough a fan out to circulate the air. They do have ceiling fans but honestly I did not feel them. The management/owner should consider more temperature control methods during the hotter months as it was quite uncomfortable. To sum it up, I thought this experience was mostly positive and would patronize it again.

Ten stars to the staff! I have been a frequent customer at Las Margaritas for years. I was even a customer when it was on the west side of 3rd avenue. The staff at this restaurant is excellent. Everyone from the kitchen staff to the waitresses to the delivery men. This restaurant is in business thanks to them. However, there is a lot left to be desired by the owner of Las Margaritas. He is rude and disrespectful. I went into the restaurant and a waitress told me they didn't have any tables available, but that I could wait by the cake section. While I was waiting, a table became available and I asked another waitress it I could sit there. She said she would clean the table for me. I sat down and ordered a drink. I was sitting at the table for about five minutes when the owner came and demanded from me, in a rude and demanding manner if my friend was coming because he "had a lot of people waiting." Even his facial expression was one of distorted ugliness. I would have had no problem moving to a smaller table or to another area, if I had been asked respectfully. I was especially offended because I am such a loyal customer and have never been treated in such a manner before. I just want to say thank you to the staff and encourage them to continue to do a great job. I hope that this ENERGÚMENO treats them well. Unfortunately, I will no longer be a patron to this establishment. read more

Terrible experience !!!!! We went in for dinner and we're asked for Covid proof, I had my pass and my friend did not so we asked if we could sit out side. There were 4 tables out side one was taken and 3 tables were available so we got seated at one of the tables, a second waitress came and told us for no apparent reason we could not sit there so we got up and asked if we could sit at the other table next to us we were abruptly told we can't while this was all going on a Spanish speaking pair came in and were seated at the table next to us. They were not asked to show the Covid pass. Sadly we were asked to leave. As you can see by my name I am not white or Spanish so there is no motivation for me to tell you about this horrible experience we had . VERY SAD!!!!!! read more

This restaurant is located right next to another Mexican restaurant. I looked in both. This one was packed with locals. while the other had 2 tables occupied. So by that rule i decided to go here. The good: Good and tasty food. Free chips and salsa. The service was very good. All waitresses are wearing uniforms. Not so good: Margarita had chemical taste. which means that they use cheap mixer that makes the drink not so great. The price for plates is a bit high $20+. They charge 4% for credit card use. They can just add 25 cents to every dish. and make paying experience less painful. Not everyone charge that much. Furniture requires attention. Our table was wobbling. All and all, thus was a good experience. We will return. read more

We placed online order. One Hour later call back and ask how long? They said the delivery guy left 5 min ago. So 45 min later called again because we still did not get delivery. So they go oh we never received your order and hung up on me. Called back again and asked why my order was confirmed 45 min ago and why I was told that the guy is on his way? The best authentic Mexican food you can find in Bay Ridge. Happy hour is great from 5-7pm, but one drink get the second one free. My all time favorite dish is the cheese flauntas which I recommend trying it out. They give you complimentary fresh chips with salsa and if you ask for a second basket, they do not charge! Refusing to pay extra, we declined. The other food we received was subpar, with dry pork and poorly flavored plantains. Which I had to give up because of health reasons. Unfortunately, my recent visit was disappointing. Our server was initially courteous, but when we asked about our order status, she became visibly upset. The food was satisfactory but not exceptional, and part of our order was incorrect. When I spoke with a staff member about the issue, his attitude was unprofessional. It's unfortunate, as I believe the restaurant has potential. However, the customer service was lacking, and I would not recommend this location, except on slower days. The young staff member stated that their policy is to serve the larger tables before the smaller tables regardless if who came in first. Desafortunadamente, mi reciente visita fue decepcionante. Nuestra camarera fue cortés al principio, pero cuando le preguntamos sobre el estado de nuestro pedido, se molestó visiblemente. La comida era satisfactoria, pero no excepcional, y parte de nuestro pedido era incorrecto. Cuando hablé con un miembro del personal sobre el tema, su actitud fue poco profesional. Es desafortunado, ya que creo que el restaurante tiene potencial. Sin embargo, el servicio al cliente era deficiente, y no recomendaría esta ubicación, excepto en días más lentos.

When I walked in, there was 4 tables filled and I saw most are eating quesadillas. Their kitchen is small but the food didn't take too too long to come out. I ordered their Al pastor quesadilla and got a cool guava pulp drink. The green sauce that comes with it is good and the red is a tad bit spicy. The quesadilla has a good amount of meat and cheese. Also my Al pastor had little pieces of pineapples which I loved! Helped cut some of the fattiness from the pork for sure. The quesadilla is on the thinner side. Maybe I'll come back to try the items or another meat filling. FYI: It's cash only!!!
