Have been going here for years - always get the Everything Nachos. They are incredible. BUT found out last night that soda is not a free refill. Paid $3.95 for a Diet Coke and had it refilled 3 times - a lot of ice in each glass - got the bill and was charged for 4 diet cokes. Totally unacceptable- don't know any other restaurant in the area that does this. Hopefully more customers complain about this, so they change their policy!! read more

I've had good and bad experiences here, but one thing remains constant; every time I go it is ridiculously hot! With the exception of the dead of winter, the heat seems to be on full blast, or more likely it's that the kitchen heat seems to be taking over the dining room. Their platters are kind of a mixed bag. Their burritos, enchiladas and quesadillas are pretty good, very cheesy and nice portions. Other stuff seems a bit off, like their rice, which is lackluster, and their chile relleno, which is always overly soggy and just a mess. Prices are about average for Mexican around these parts, and their alcoholic beverages are decent but nothing extraordinary and overpriced as usual. In general I like this place, really. I like how the interior looks and get pretty good service every time. They just need to make the food a bit more consistent and do something about their heat problem. read more

We had lunch here today and it was just okay. The chips and salsa they provided were very very good. Both were house made and very fresh. As for entrees my wife got the shrimp tacos, she said they were good but different from what she's had before. I ordered 2 beef tacos on hard shell. They were tasty! Full of meat and very filling. We also tried the veggie quesadilla, not so good. It was very large, the veggies were cooked well but it was very very greasy. Heavier than I expected for a veggie option. It was so greasy it was hard to pick up and just falling apart. All in all it was an okay meal. The service was very good. The total with too came to around $50.00, which is high considering we didn't drink. Not sure if we would go back or not. Solid 3 stars. read more

So this place...I really wanted to like it. I mean, really wanted to like it, but alas, it was not meant to be. The decor is phenomenal! I mean you are transformed literally to Mexico. The restaurant was designed on point. But that is where it ends. First our waitor informs us that we cannot get the Margarita specials at the table and would only have to get it at the bar. Ok - I guess we can live with that. Secondly, he informs us that he cannot provide a kids special, posted at the table due to a holiday. What was the holiday you might ask? It was national Margarita Day. Are you kidding me? I mean, I am sure there there is some unknown holiday every day of the year. I would be willing to overlook all of this, if in fact the food was good. But unfortunately, it was not. It took a while to come out, probably because they were busy (due to Margarita Day) and when it did finally come out, we were not so pleased. Both my husband and I ordered a form of Carne Asada, he in the entree version and I, in the tacos version. It was inedible to say the least. The steak, tough and chewy. Everything else was mushy and did not have the amazing freshness of the Mexican food I had on many occasions in Mexico. On another note - I just added a star back to my review. The guacamole was pretty good and it was the most reasonable price I have ever seen for an enormous (2.5 avocados) portion of guac. We go out of our way to eat here! The food is your typical fun fare from Mexico but it's REAL! The salsa verde, Yucatán mole, home made chips, all delicious! I have eaten here more then a half dozen times and only had a tiny complaint with the texture of my enchilada dough during my last visit. The service is excellent, the environment is festive with imported bas relief furniture from Mexico! Any place is a good seat here! The bar is also lively and user friendly! Great for all ages!! Hi All, This was very average. I went here with a large group and 3 children. The decor is a gaudy representation of how an American would think a traditional Mexican restaurant would appear. My dish- fajitas- was smaller than most fajita dishes at other Mex restaurants. Half the group was satisfied, the other half felt the meal was poor. Overall...no need to go here, except if you crave Mexican and cant drive anywhere else and Taco Bell just isnt in your cards. Go to this location to booze. As for food, no thank you, not after eating at the original. The Las Margaritas on Welsh Road boasted great, fresh Tex-Mex, tasty drinks, and decent, albeit slow, service. The menu here is exactly the same, and the drinks are nice, but the similarities end there. Sure, if you put plates from the original and this location side-by-side, you couldn't tell the difference. But the taste speaks volumes. Every time I've gotten fajitas here, the tortillas have been slightly hard, the meats have been tough, and the veggies over or undercooked. Other entrees have too much cheese, improperly portioned fillings, and exhibit an overall indifference to your taste buds. This is the kind of food that you don't enjoy overeating, and finishing your huge portion is a bit of a chore. The service isn't great either. While the original's service is slow due to how busy it is, it's always pleasant and accommodating. Here, not so much, it's quicker but not as friendly. Went to pick up an order my wife put in, waited more than double the amount of time the order was supposed to take sitting there waiting for the food. Guy brings the food out literally drops it literally 3 feet from me on the floor. Guy said he's going to take it in the back and make sure the order isn't damaged. Left with the food, when I arrived home. The order is missing things, called the location woman told me manager was too busy to talk to me. Food was cold and bland. Lower Bucks County has been lacking good Mexican food for years. Unfortunately, they continue to, even with the recent opening of Las Margaritas. For a new restaurant, the place was hopping. We showed up around 8 p.m. on a Saturday night and took the only available spot in the parking lot. Every table in the restaurant had patrons. The tables were well spaced out, so even though the restaurant was full, it wasn't too noisy. No one was waiting at the hostess station when we arrived, although someone walked over within a minute or so. We were told it would be a fifteen minute wait, but we were seated within five. The good news is that their margaritas are, in fact, tasty, and the bartender put just the right amount of salt around the rim. The free chips and salsa were equally good. The chips came out warm and were replenished when our basket got low. The salsa was thick; I would have liked a spicier option, but I still ate my fair share. We ordered the chicken nachos as an appetizer. They were loaded with chicken, melted cheese, and an unusual cheese sauce. Unfortunately, besides a few peppers, there weren't any other toppings. My dining companions liked the cheese sauce, but I was less than thrilled with it; it seemed salty, and made the chips soggier than I like. Things went downhill from there. The appetizer was cleared, and we waited. And waited. And waited. For some time, we were chatting away, and then we finally said, "You know, we've been waiting for some time." It had been more than 45 minutes since we'd ordered our entrees, and our waiter was nowhere in sight, not even to refill water glasses or to suggest another pitcher of margaritas. Finally, one of my companions went to ask about our dinner. Within a minute, two waiters hustled out with the plates full of food. Our dinners were warm, but certainly not hot; I wonder how long they'd been sitting under the warmers. Companion #1 had chicken with chorizo and liked it. Companion #2 had the chiles rellenos and rated them rather poorly; she is, however, something of a chiles rellenos connoisseur and has been spoiled by eating them at various Mexican restaurants in California. Companion #3 had a shrimp taco salad. He's on a restricted diet and asked for several accommodations: lowfat cheese, nonfat sour cream, and a flour tortilla base instead of the fried shell. All of the accommodations were made correctly. I ordered a combination platter of a chicken quesadilla, a tamale and a tostada. The quesadilla had that cheese sauce in it (which was also over the rellenos); the tamale was salty but good; the tostada had bland meat that required a healthy dose of chipotle hot sauce. The refried beans and rice were bland. We finished eating - and then waited. Again. No waiter in sight. This time, I went in search of a manager. Mind you, I'm not a diner who does this regularly. Occasionally, I'll give a server some feedback to share with the chef, but I've never sought out a manager. The front desk pointed me to the owner, and I told him how incredibly slow our service had been. At this point, most other diners had left. We'd been there for more than two hours, and the restaurant was no longer busy. He apologized but didn't seem overly concerned. We still waited several more minutes for our check and a carry-out container for my leftovers. The manager did come over as we were heading to the door to apologize. The bathroom was clean, although one stall was taped shut. The price of the meal was reasonable. The bill for four entrees, a pitcher of margaritas, and an appetizer was $87, but we had a coupon for $10 off. In short: A fair meal (comparable to any Mexican chain), decent portion sizes at a reasonable price, but extremely slow service. read more

My husband and I just returned from dining at Las Margaritas and were pleasantly pleased. Until Las Margaritas opened recently, there were no authentic Mexican restaurants in our general vicinity. The atmosphere is bright and colorful, the portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Definitely better than the On the Border type chain restaurants. I had the Guadalajara special (yummy!) which consists of a whole mishmash of Mexican specialties. My husband had the chicken taco/quesidilla combo and said it was very good as well. We didn't leave room for dessert (loaded up on a lot of the homemade chips & salsa), but we'll be back. read more

Wow. I don't even know where to start. Calling and asking about a wait, being told there was none only to arrive 10 minutes later and having to wait almost 40 minutes for a table? Or, the waiter who essentially forgot about our table in order to have an extended conversation with a table that he was clearly friends with? Or how about the pile of horrible food that was supposed to resemble a chimichanga? This place is the worst. I know PA has a severe lack of Mexican food, but this place is total garbage. Honestly. Nothing is good, and this location is worse than the northeast Philly location, because at least in the NE location the servers see it necessary to check your table once in a while. I think I am going to start considering myself a regular here... This place is incredible and I love it. They have the best, most authentic Mexican food available in the area. I have always been impressed with the quality of food, and I never leave disappointed. They have a mariachi band on Thursdays that adds to the authentic Mexican feel of this place. They bar is comfortable, and I never feel rushed through my meal or my drinks. This place has the BEST watermelon margaritas....no contest. I never leave disappointed, and don't think I ever will! On another note, always try to arrive early, as this place can become overly crowded and waiting for a table can seem like you are waiting for ever. A chicken burrito is a SIDE dish. What? Loco! Stopped in with a few co-workers tonight (Happy Cinco de Mayo) post working hours. Parking was a joke (Happy Cinco de Mayo), but we easily found spots across the street. We were told it would be an hour wait but we were welcome to wait in the downstairs bar, which was like a dance club. Had a Coronita (7oz for $2) while waiting for a table to open up. I was very grateful to the bartender who went out of his way to see if he could get the Phillies games on one of (the four) flat screens in the bar. Sadly it didn't work out, but thanks for ditching the super busy bar for a few minutes to try and hook a girl up. Also appreciated was the free sombreros available down there. A fella walked up with a handful just to make sure my entirety of my party was donning sombreros. We were seated after was seemed like much less of a wait than an hour and were immediately greeted with a large basket of tortilla chips and a mini-carafe of salsa. The chips were replaced even before we'd finished the basket. I ordered a banana margarita (yum!) and the fish (tilapia) tacos. This was my first fish taco experience and I was impressed. Actually, I was really impressed at the wide variety of seafood dishes they did offer. All three of my tacos were stuffed to the gills (see what I did there) and delicious. After so many chips and salsa, I only (barely) managed to make it through one taco. Who's stoked to have leftover fish tacos for lunch tomorrow? Me. Went here last night on my husband's recommendation and ended the night with him saying he remembered it being better. We arrived and were seated promptly, but then had to wait a pretty long time before anyone brought us water or asked for our drink orders. The salsa was tasty enough, but the chips felt stale to me (not to my husband so it might have been in my head). My husband had fajitas with chicken, steak and shrimp and I ordered a spinach burrito. All the meat in his fajita was way overcooked and chewy, and my burrito was topped with American cheese (or something tasting an awful lot like it). Cheese aside the burrito was okay, nothing special and it kind of goes without saying that overcooked meat on a fajita is a big turn off. The highlight of the night - the mango mojito - which if I could complain about anything could have used some more fresh mint. I do believe we are just doomed in this area to have to drive 30 minutes north or south to get real Mexican food. read more

We had driven by many times but never stopped in. Decided to give it a try for lunch. The decor is beautiful. Lots of murals, some faux stone work. Very colorful chairs and tables. The menu is very extensive and reasonably priced. As with many other Mexican restaurants, they give you free chips and salsa. Both were made fresh and the salsa has a bit of a kick to it. The portions were huge and the food was delicious. We tried the vegetarian fajitas, and a chicken taco and enchilada combo. The fajitas were excellent - lots of different grilled veggies in a flavorful sauce. It came with refried beans and a really tasty rice, as well as tortillas and the usual sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, and tomatoes. The chicken taco and enchilada combo came with the rice too. The only slight negative was that the taco was leaning on the rice and got soggy on one side. If we had noticed it sooner we would have stood it up. They have a nice looking bar area with some Mexican beer on tap and a ton of margarita choices. There is a kids menu, lots of onsite parking, and daily drink specials. We would absolutely go back there again. read more

Went hear with the family for an occasion and thought it was pretty good. We did have to wait by the bar for a table (even though we had a reservation), but it wasn't bad. I especially liked that they had Dos Equis Amber on tap - that made the wait fly by. The decor is very ornate and appropriate for the cuisine - it's hard to believe that this used to be an Italian restaurant not that long ago. The service was good - the waiter had everything together until the very end, when we couldn't find him to get the check. Before that, he was always there to refill our drinks and clear away used plates. My biggest compliment to the Las Margaritas is that, when they mark a menu item as "spicy," it is, in fact, spicy - a rarity these days, when even restaurants that mark their dishes using a spectrum of heat ("this dish is 4-out-of-five peppers") fall short. For this, I thank them. If you like hot food, try the camarones (shrimp). Anyway, this was a good experience, and I would go back. read more

I haven't been here in awhile but the taste of their food has definitely changed... I am not happy at all. They've added a lot of onions, tomato and cilantro(which I hate) to the quesadilla and the tacos. There were items on the menu that my friends ordered but were told are no longer on the menu. The parking lot on the side of the restaurant is so dark and I don't believe that it is safe. This is not the Las Margaritas that I remember, I am sorry to say that I won't be returning. read more

So sad to be writing this but I feel compelled. This used to be our favorite restaurant. We came once a week. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. However, for the past few years, it has been slowly declining. The waitstaff are careless and negligent, that is, unless you're with a big party. Then they ONLY care about your table. We waited over 25 minutes today (after we finished eating) for a box and the check while our waiter focused solely on his larger party. During the past like 2 years, they have never once remembered to bring me a side of sour cream that I asked for when placing my order. They now charge extra for chip and salsa refills. I wish I could say the food was great but I'm still waiting for my order and hour and a half after I ordered Update: we received our food TWO HOURS after we ordered it. Stood in the restaurant ( due to Covid 19 they were supposed to bring the food out curbside) for over an hour asking over and over again if the food was ready. No. It wasn't. While staring at a bunch of bags, I knew they were mine. Then finally when I said cancel my order the last says "oh this is yours" and hands me the same bags I was staring at for all this time. Starving I took it and went home. Surprise surprise. It was ice cold and NOTHING WAS RIGHT. I'm almost positive they just handed us a bunch of bags to give me something other than a refund. We microwaved it and ate whatever they gave us but I will never go back. I work in a restaurant and I understand that mistakes are made. I also understand that in this crazy time some places may not be use to the whole take out only thing. I just wish they were more apologetic. First time here and we will never go back. Horrible service. Atleast call the party with the reservation that was made a couple days prior and let us know our reservation would be pushed back. Las Margaritas is our local Mexican restaurant, and we stop in regularly. One has to smile when inside: a fiesta of color and tropical images. The tables and chairs were hand-carved and -painted in Mexico and are delightful. The walls and frescos required months of work and even if you dislike the imagery, you have to admire the workmanship. The cuisine is good but it occasionally suffers from an abundance of salt. My sense is that the kitchen actually produces only 15-20 unique items but plates them in a dizzying array of combinations. I would rather see a less ambitious menu with more distinct (and refined) offerings. Tequila's downtown would be a good model to emulate. Additionally, a few more fish/seafood offerings would be welcome. A Baja taco surely would inspire me to visit even more often. They do have a fine Happy Hour (until 7 pm), and we loved the spinach quesadilla special that we enjoyed during our last Happy Hour visit. From our perspective, the service has always been exemplary (attentive, accommodating and swift) for places in this price range, and we have been visiting since their opening week. read more

Chips and salsa were fresh, my food tasted good (Though my tamale was dry)... and 6 people ate for under $60 for lunch, so I consider that a good deal. I was in the Philadelphia area and I met a friend for dinner. She was craving Mexican and we ended up here .... The inside looks like a cheesy chain restaurant, Chi-Chi's comes to mind. They don't take reservations for parties under 8, I don't know if that is a negative or a positive, considering the place was pretty dead when I went there on a weekend. The food is completely Americanized-Mexican food. The margarita tasted nothing like a margarita (not good when your restaurant is named 'Las Margaritas'), my chimichanga (that the server told me was the best thing on the menu) had AMERICAN cheese melted on it. Very bizarre. My friend had quesadillas and she said she had the same issue with the cheese. I was not sold in the least on this place. But, I will say this: service was very nice and prices were extremely cheap. They actually had a pretty busy bar scene at one point of the evening.
