Awesome "REAL" Mexican store and restaurant. My husband and I ended up here on our anniversary for an impromptu dinner. First time, but certainly not the last. We have lived in both Phoenix and LA., so know real mexican food and some of the best and this is up there right along side any we have eaten in any city or state. Tamales were full of meat. My husband said it was the best Mexican rice he has ever had. I had 3 different street tacos. All good but Carne Asada best in my opinion. Elote in a cup...what can I say. Unbelievable. Absolutely will be on our restaurant rotation any time we are in the area! Very clean and cheerful people. Highly recommend for true Mexican food.

Carne asada sope and chorizo sope.

I was at a conference in the Dells and didn't want bland chain restaurant food. I found Las Milpas on yelp and am so glad I made the short drive over! I stocked up on a few things in their grocery store, great conchas! I ordered sopes from the restaurant and they were delivious. The chorizo was a standout!

We had the chicken flautas and an Al pastor burrito. Both were excellent. Clean environment quick and efficient service. We are contemplating driving 40 minutes to go our 2nd time ever. But within the same 24 hours.

Very amazing authentic food. The service is 10/10 and they brought out the food fast and hot. The fajitas came out sizzling.

Their tamales are the BEST I've ever had! Had them for lunch/dinner many times, and purchased large orders of them for events.

Fair price, great tacos!! My wife likes the steak tacos. I would give it 5 stars but the retried beans are always super runny.

Served over reheated food. Actually don't deserve a single star even. It wasn't busy, no excuse for the poor quality food.

The campechano was delicious as was the veggie taco, but the standout was the carnitas!

Pistachio one was my favorite. There were many Asian ice creams. Propitious mango was a good one. There were a lot of small food places in the food hall. I tried food from a lot of different places. The food hall had a lot of seats, and was neatly maintained. It was never crowded. Kawasaki is close to the entry of Global Market. So the first time I was there, I went straight to this place. I had a Chicken katsu rice bowl. It was one of the best food I had in the food hall. Display had some very delicious and cute cakes. Next time I should try some of that. Taiwan Street has nice pho and bubble tea. I went for a pistachio milk shake, without bubbles. It was good. But I think I should have really went for a pho. They have a lots of sweets in display. I went for a peach swiss roll and a sesame ball. Both were good. From Dumpling House, I went for a chicken and mushroom dumpling and chinese chive pie. Both were good . It came steaming hot. I think I should have gone for some of their more favorite items like chive and pork dumpling. From Nice Flavor Stir Fry , I went for a sauteed sliced lamb with cumin. Generally this is a really flavorful dish which you cannot go wrong with. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Flavors were off, and the quality fo meat was not as good as I expected. Stir fry chicken mei fun was my favorite item from Bowl Bowl Rice. It came hot and was flavorful. I also had a tea leaf flavor egg. It was just $1. But it came with egg shell. I had to peel it. Egg was slightly less flavorful than I expected. Mochi donut is the main item in Glazed. There were some food items as well, but I didn't find takers for that. I went for 3 donuts - Oreo, honey dew and churro. The flavors were all interesting. May be oreo was my favorite. Donut texture was more chewy. From S&B Hmong Kitchen, I went for a fried rice from this place. It was flavorful. Cilantro and scallion on top gave a nice flavor kick. From Poké Mì, I went for a drunken noodles as my entree. It was not as good as I expected. Flavors were off. May be I should have gone for bahn mi. I haven't seen sugar cane juice anywhere else in Madison. So went for one. I thought it was just ok.

What really shines here? Their food stall. I had the spam musubi and immediately went back inside to get 2 more lol. The person working the window even gifted me shrimp toast, which was very sweet. (The shrimp toast is fire). This is more of a pick up and go kind of spot, although they have stools and a counter if want to eat there. Think cafeteria vibes but not in a derogatory way. They sell out often. I know bc I came here yesterday around 2pm, SO excited for spam musubi, only to learn that they sold out of everything at 1pm LOL. Today? I made sure to get there around 1130am. Was able to get garlic butter shrimp (7 BIG shrimp, so flavorful) served with pasta salad (delicious, I usually do not love pasta salad), and rice. I also got a shrimp lumpia (delicious) and a spam musubi for later. Food was phenomenal as usual. The food scene in Madison is not as robust as other places I've lived, but this place? A gem. Def give them a try. Just don't go too late like I did yesterday.

The dipping sauce may have just been sweet eggroll dipping sauce from the bottle. The papaya salad has pretty much all the ingredients an enthusiast would want. I have tried the following (starting with my faves): - Stuffed Wings (5/5): Packed with filling, and flavorful! - Chicken Eggrolls (5/5): Filling is very similar the stuffed wing, and good sized! Perfectly golden sand crispy. It comes with a sweet and sour sauce (1/5). I would prefer a spicy peanut sauce. - Papaya (5/5): Legit, with remnants of tamarind and crab! Definitely why I will be returning to the deli. This is made more Laos-style (dark and fishy), rather than Thai-style (light and sweet). - Purple Sticky Rice (5/5): Pairs perfectly with everything on their menu! - Steamed Tilapia (4/5): Good flavors! But if you're not a fan of picking thru all the little bones, this may not be for you. - Hmong Sausage (3/5): Flavors are okay, but nothing special. I would rather buy the frozen ones and cook them at home. - Pepper Sauce (1/5): This comes with the meats that you ordered. It's watered down, sweet with a couple slivers of Thai chili and cilantro. I did see that they sell small containers of a more potent pepper sauce for an extra $1. I assumed that was what came with my order, but it was completely different. Will definitely pay extra for that next time!! The seating area is clean and very spacious. The new refrigerators look beautiful and hold a lot more products--from Asian greens, to dairy products and an array of beverages! The owners are great, and have reached out to the community for feedback on products and services. Aside from Asian products, they strive to provide African, Latino and American products. This includes fresh produce and meats, dry/canned goods, sweets, frozen products/foods, and so much more! Check it out for yourself!

The booth we were seated at was comfortable. We were given complimentary chips and two different salsas. One salsa was red and thick. The other salsa was white and more of a thin liquid. All of it was great. It was all even better with salt and pepper. We even got another complimentary red salsa and chips. I tried them the same way and they were way better for some reason. From the House Blend Margaritas section, we ordered a Small Frozen Original Lime for 7.99 and a Small On The Rocks Original Lime for 7.99. The Frozen was hard to drink at first with it being so cold. The salt and lime on the rim helped. I enjoyed this drink, but it was definitely better after it melted a bit. The On The Rocks was fantastic! The salt and lime on the rim amplified the flavor. From the Beverages section, Pepsi Products were 3.50. I went with a Diet Pepsi. It was tasty and so was the free refill. From the Burritos section, I ordered the Burrito De Carne Asada. It was 7oz of steak burrito served with rice & beans. Topped with red sauce, cheese sauce, lettuce, pico de gallo, & sour cream. It was 14.99. I was surprised how fast it came out. The size was fair for the price it was. The steak overflowed out of the burrito after the first cut. This thing was full of flavor. The rice & beans were decent. I was pleased with the whole ensemble. The service started off great and then became spotty. It ended up picking up towards the end and finished off strong. Overall, I'm glad I stopped here to try it out. Everything was tasty and worth what I paid. I would probably come back again. Date of visit: 08/21/2024
