Love the nice employees here. I go about once a week for breakfast tacos. Always a quick stop on my way to work. Never disappointed.

Don't love it but dont hate it either. It feels like a fast food Mexican restaurant but their not fast whatsoever. Getting seated can take a while and service is relatively Slow. One things that bugs me is that combo plates on the drive-thru are different than dining inside. Meaning they won't sell you combo plate that are on the Drive-Thru Menu at the same price!! This is the second time I was given something else than what I ordered within a week. Both times I ordered chicken fajita nachos, this time I went back up there even though I have to get ready to go to work and they made my order again but when I got home and started to eat, I noticed the chicken was raw. Puffy Tacos! Chorizo and Egg Tacos! There is nothing on the menu that isn't perfect! We visit from out of town, everytime we're near a Las Palapas. It's got a special place in our heart. Quality Food, GREAT value, and a fanatical service experience. We're usually the people who aren't all ready to order at the same time...or have a kid that spills a ginormous drink...or decide they want more tortillas the minute our food comes. Service here has been great, fast, and attentive. We have not ever had a problem with our waitstaff. Prior to my last visit our orders were always correct and the food came out fast and hot. In our last visit we ended up having slightly incorrect orders (wrong ingredients on our tacos) and I ended up with an extra taco on my plate. We let our waitress know and she apologized and corrected the order. It turns out she took our order correctly and it was just the kitchen that got it wrong/mixed up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of space to meet here with a large group of family or friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you got more than 6+ people you may want to give them a heads up so they can save/reserve a section for you. Just phone them and arrange and communicate how much space you need. Parking is easy but can sometimes get congested if the drive-thru is busy and bonkers (usually only on the weekends). This is a overlooked place and should not be! Food was served on a VERY hot plate as it should be! Great enchiladas and just the right amount of seasoning! I'm a fan of Las Palapas and their sister restaurants, Ay Chiwawa... love the Machacado, beef Al carbon, salsas, enchiladas verdes... it's really good recipes.. BUT [[HIGHLIGHT]]This New Braunfels location seems like an afterthought.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been several times and only once did I feel like the place was working like a well managed restaurant and that was a year ago. The staff seems to be either overworked, sedated or generally unsure of themselves. The wait time to get service and food out of the kitchen is inordinately long when the place isn't very busy. I got the best service a year ago when it was very busy. No complaints about food and the staff is friendly, but this place needs a manger that is engaged and breathe some energy and life into it so they can thrive and be a place worth coming back to. read more

Huge fan of LP over 20 years, this location is awful. Service was good but the tacos were the worst I've ever had, the pancakes were dry flavorless & served with a packet of high fructose corn syrup not syrup, all flavorless. Sad as we use to always enjoy LP. read more

I have eaten at La Palapas a number of times but this time I tried the LP Superbowl with carne guisada. It was great. You can have a chioce of different meats if you don't like carne guisada. The bowl contains rice (this rice was very moist, I don't like dry spaninsh rice) charro beans, couple of slices of avocaldo, cheese sauce, the meat, and a bit of lettuce in the bottom, very little lettuce (good). All for $8.99, good price now days. The waitress was a little lax but I enjoyed the meal. My wife had the puffy taco and she was happy too. read more

Las Palapas N.B. was our place to eat for so so many years. In the last year the employees have become so rude and unfriendly. The quality of the food has diminished. We stopped going to this location 7 months ago. This morning, I asked my wife if she wanted to try Las Palapas again. Maybe things have turned around. Waste of time. I wanted a Taco Norteño really bad. They use to serve some awesome taco Norteño. I ordered two beef tacos. OMG. they served me beef jerky. We had a rather large group of 23 folks today June 20,2024, to eat at Las Palapas at Creek Side in New Braunfels. Our large group did make arrangements ahead of time. We had the whole bar area for ourselves. They have a really nice bar to gather around and have a few drinks first. Everything was so nice and clean. The waitress took really good care of us. We all sat at different table and ordered our food. I do not know how they did it but no order was incorrect. We were all served within 5 minutes of each other. Went through the drive thru 3 days ago. When I asked for a receipt for my transaction, the young lady said that she was unable to print me a receipt. No big deal until today when I looked at my bank and noticed that I was charged more than what my transaction was. I get the same thing when I go through the drive through so I know how much it was supposed to be and she seemed to have added a tip to my transaction. I tried calling the restaurant to report it but they do not answer and their mailbox is full. Just be aware and watch your transactions at this location! read more

I love the bean and cheese tacos with the green sauce. I feel like my tacos are stuffed well. If it's cold i do enjoy the chicken tortilla soup. They don't tell you but they add a lot of cilantro to the top so you have to tell them no cilantro or light cilantro if you don't want your soup to taste like soap. I have are inside a few times and have never had bad service. The chips and salsa is so good. Where we sat it did have a not so great smell but maybe it was just that area. read more

The service was very good and the carne asado platter was very good. My wife had enchiladas and said they were great. For dessert we shared a piece of chocolate tres leches. It was the first time I have tried a chocolate tres leches and was very happy. Overall the food and service was very good and I would definitely try it again! read more

Great food. We visit several times a month. They don't over salt their foods and they use real cheese. Several months ago we dined in. It was really busy during the afternoon. Their appearance and/or demeanor suggests they're either lazy or hung over from last night's Halloween party. They serve coffee from an off site pot dispenser that pours lukewarm coffee and said they had no decaf coffee. The food tastes like its been sitting out for hours not hot or fresh off the grill. I am not sure why this place is listed as closed today on sunday Father's Day but they are open . We came in from out of town and walked in bar was closed due to lack of staff. We were seated at a booth and within 16 mins 3 staff wait staff walked right by us never acknowledge us . Came in for breakfast. Service was pretty slow. For some reason I thought they'd take a good 5 minutes since it was to go, but it ended up being closer to 10-15. It would have been nice to be warned so that I did not have to wait so long and instead could have ordered some other food. Food itself was packed well for to go, though the food itself is fairly average. Don't go expecting anything mind and palate altering. I ordered the full breakfast that had omelet, bacon, cheese, and sausage with bacon. So, definitely can understand somewhat why it took so long. I have eaten here a couple times a month since it opened. It has always been mediocre and slightly overpriced but it was convenient. I don't recall when but they started asking for tips at the drive thru, all they really do is take your order and bag your food, as opposed to refilling your tea or chips if you eat inside. I have always been asked if I would like salsa with my order, and what kind, the time before this last trip they didn't ask and when I got home there wasn't any in the bag. This last trip I specifically asked if I could have salsa with my order (I ordered chips & queso among other items) and was told that salsa costs extra. Aside from the nickel and dime BS, our meal was horrible. The tortillas on the enchiladas had crunchy bits, there was very little to no gravy, the fajita meat was dry and tough, the flour tortillas were stale, and there wasn't any plasticware or napkins (another upcharged I'm sure). Do yourself a favor, go to Taco Cabana instead, you'll get the same mediocre food for less money and they will give you free salsa. I've had my last meal at Las Palapas. read more

I go to this place everyday and they can not get it right. At the Window for breakfast the food comes out somewhat fast as if it's pre cooked. I went in because they messed my order on 9/8/23 and my food was way fresher. I order the same thing 2 bacon and potatoe breakfast tacos every morning. And they can't get it right ever. The food is never made fresh. I won't be going to this place anymore. My dollar is not valued because my order is never consistent. The service is great but there is a miscommunication with the kitchen staff. I went back on 9/9/23 and went inside and requested for my food to be fresh..
