Their chicken smelled rotten. I had to send it back, I do not at all recommend this place. Totally lost my appetite

We had a very nice late lunch here while in the area. This is a small business with a nice big menu with decent prices and great portions. The enchiladas were great, but the tacos were the best! You get one basket of chips and salsa per table. Salsa was a bit runny and spicy for me and chips are pretty thick. Service was friendly and fast. You can dine inside or outside and they have parking out back or in the area nearby.

Great location, nice street view from inside with great openness to the patio seating with ample room and umbrellas for shade. The complimentary chips and salsa were of great quality - nice thick chips with fresh salsa with a perfect hint of heat. The salsa tasted as if was made fresh from the garden I ordered the chicken chimichanga plate with rice and beans. The chicken was cooked perfectly, excellent flavor The staff was prompt with taking orders & delivering orders. The staff were quiet but nice.

Came here on a random whim. Huge party out at front but considering that we were seated quite quickly. Another server had to bring us our menus. The tostada itself was the only good thing about the meal. I had ordered beef but they way it was cut up reminded me of dog food tbh. My mom enjoyed her meal. The panchitas. The chips and salsa were good. Lacking in the chips imo and no refill. I'm definitely spoiled with Mexican food living in soc.

Panchitas was so amazing. Maria was our waiter, not only she is so sweet in her own ways, but she makes you feel at home. The food was superb and the margaritas were so delicious. I got to meet the owner and he was cordial and fun. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I went down to Panchitas for a clean decent meal. And it was! Food was fine and classic and the chips were not greasy. Service was fine but we asked the waiter for a WiFi password and he said we was going to ask but never came back. All in all I recommend this restaurant to families with kids that want an easy meal by the beach!

#16 carnitas burrito and chile relleno. Sauce used on the top was creamy and smoky and mild. Loved!

Food was filing and good. We each ordered ordered plates so we could try a few things. #4 enchilada and hard taco. #16 carnitas burrito and chile relleno.

The dishes we ordered were satisfying but more gringo .... I still would go here since there really isn't a huge variety of Latin food in the surrounding area

They were excellent. Like, the kind where you pause mid-bite and nod. The enchiladas were exactly what you want after a long Tahoe day: cheesy, saucy, and piping hot in the best kind of way. Comfort food perfection. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. A couple quirks to know going in: * Beware the green salsa. It is SPICY. Do not mistake it for guacasalsa. It's actually spicier than the red salsa and has some serious kick. * Chips aren't free and only come in one large size, so plan accordingly if you're just looking for a small side. Overall, fantastic food, generous portions, and totally worth the stop. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.

We perused the market that is attached to the restaurant while we waited for our order. A great way to past time and loved all the authentic Mexican spices and produce there. Usually restaurants in Tahoe during winter season are super packed on the weekends with long wait times. But La Mexicana delivered authentic food in a prompt manner. Food was good. I got the carnitas and al pastor tacos for the combo. We also got an additional fish taco. The food was more than enough for me. I was pretty full after the two, and I pushed myself to split the fish taco. Fish taco was pretty good and had some good spice to it. I recommend giving that one a try.

Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 5/5 We ordered: - crab cakes appetizer: the mango salsa was so good, the mango pieces were ripe and soft, and the crab cakes themselves had good outer crunchy texture with soft filling - new york steak, medium to medium well: I usually find places will make medium to medium well steak at just barely medium rare to medium, but this place definitely cooked it very thoroughly, seemed closer to well-done. The steak was a little too chewy and tough for my taste, but overall good flavor. I loved the wild rice pilaf side! - lemonade and sierra sunburn: both really fresh and seemed like they were made from fresh lemons! the raspberry in the sunburn was great The lighting was warm and the lights were really overhead. The benches were comfortable and not cold to sit on, and overall nice, clean, comfy environment. Service was really friendly and apologized that the drinks menu didn't have dairy-free options for some of the drinks with dairy, overall really attentive and engaging. We found a lot of street parking a few minutes away and walked over, also took a walk on the lake beach right behind it which was super pretty

Dog-friendly vibes, jaw-dropping Lake Tahoe views, and super friendly, efficient service--even with our multiple beer sample requests. I devoured the seared ahi tuna topped with vibrant mango salsa (pro tip: test that fiery side sauce first--it's no joke!). My boyfriend loved his California chicken sandwich with those perfectly crispy, hot fries. Skipped the beer to save room for dessert--rich, indulgent, but perfectly balanced. Total winner! If you're in Kings Beach, Tahoe, this spot nails the lakeside chill with tasty food and unbeatable scenery. Highly

Whitecaps is a must if you are staying in the area!…read more Quite possibly the best pizza in all of Tahoe. We've tried many places over the years and Whitecaps is ultimately the spot we always go to. It's super busy, so definitely recommend coming early or planning your visit on a weekday. On a Saturday night, it took about 30 minutes for a table, so we sat at the bar instead. The service was good, though the food did take a while to come out. The Sopressata pizza with honey drizzle was amazing and probably the highlight of our most recent dinner. They have a ton of options on the menu though, if you're not feeling pizza. I've heard amazing things about the meatball sandwich, which we plan to get on our next visit.

Whitecaps Pizza is a great pizza option in North Lake Tahoe. Located in Kings Beach just a short…read moredrive from Incline Village, it offers beautiful lake views, a relaxed atmosphere, and some seriously tasty pizza. The pizza is absolutely the reason I keep coming back. My longtime favorite is the Soppressata pizza with hot honey drizzle. The combination of spicy, savory, and sweet is outstanding, and it might be one of the few pizzas that's just as good the next day as leftovers. On my most recent visit, we tried the Vodka Pie on the Detroit-style crust. While I enjoyed the flavors, I discovered that the Detroit-style crust probably isn't for me. Going forward, I'll stick with their more traditional crust options, which I've consistently enjoyed over the years. The beet salad is another standout. It's beautifully presented, and the fresh dill on top adds a unique touch that works surprisingly well. My only suggestion would be to increase the portion of beets a bit, as the amount felt somewhat limited compared to the rest of the dish. The beer selection is extensive, with plenty of options for almost any taste. Wine drinkers will find a handful of choices available by the glass or half bottle, which is appreciated, although none of the wines I've tried have been particularly memorable. The biggest challenge for Whitecaps continues to be the service. While I've had a few positive experiences, I've also had multiple visits where service felt inattentive and unfriendly. It often seems difficult to get someone's attention when you need something, and there have been occasions where details were overlooked, including being served wine in a visibly dirty glass. While it was replaced when brought to their attention, the lack of acknowledgment or apology left something to be desired. That said, I continue to return because the pizza is genuinely that good. Between the lake views, the casual atmosphere, the excellent beer selection, and tasty pizza. Whitecaps remains a great place to gather with friends, share an appetizer and a pizza, and enjoy a cold drink. If the service ever catches up to the quality of the food, this place could easily become a top pizza option in NLT.
