We love their outside patio for our dog & we're able to sit back, relax, chat, & enjoy a few drinks. They have many screens outside and this past Summer they were showing the World Cup matches which was a great time. Their food is good and enjoyable. We love their buffalo wings, burgers & most recently I tried their shrimp tacos which were refreshing. A bit pricey - but it's Tahoe! Definitely recommend supporting this business. Solid spot for a burger, drinks and good appetizers. No frills, just good and standard food. One standout is that the frozen cocktails look amazing. They seemed pretty popular, thought I didn't have a chance to try one. Definitely on my to-try list though! They make an ok Moscow mule, but it doesn't come in the classic copper mug, they serve it in a cocktail glass. Not great, not bad. My husband had a burger and I had a salad with Tri tip added. Pretty good, and a solid option. They provide a generous portion here. The burger would definitely be too big for me, but it looked delicious. We would come back for sure. read more

We went to the Grid at half time of the Super Bowl. Needless to say the place was packed. There were even a few brave souls watching the game outside. We were able to wedge ourselves into some counter space but I wasn't expecting much since they are so busy. Well we were very happy with the level of service we received and the quality of the food. The servers were constantly roaming, making sure everyone is happy. The food came fast and was fresh and delish. As for a venue to watch the game, you can't ask for more. When food got served to us, we just had to take care of ourselves. Get our own napkins, sauce and utensils. I ask my husband to hand me the ketchup so he lift the entire condiment tray to hand it over to me but the ketchup fell off and tipped his beer over. Tell me why this Grid P. server with curly hair and beard guy got mad, issued us our tab and slammed it on our faces and grabbed everything away even though we were not done eating yet and yelled at us. The food was what you'd expect from a mountain bar/restaurant. My sliders were tasty, and the rest of my family enjoyed their food. But Julia, our server, was by far the most impressive part of our experience. Aside from her excellent attitude, she was very familiar with the menu, never missed the chance to try and subtly make the upsell and was very organized in the way she both took and delivered our order. My son received his soda from another employee before Julia had even finished taking our drink order, and I saw Julia running hauling ice and doing other things outside the normal server duties, which gave the impression that everyone on the team is looking out for each other. And I'm not entirely sure it had anything to do with me, but after a few minutes of turning behind me to watch the one screen showing the Stanley Cup game, another screen changed to it that was easier for me to see. This place is just what it needs to be, and it does a good job at it. PS- I told Julia, but you guys really should consider making a poutine style version of your slider dish. They choose the cheese melted over the fries and meat, and they can pour the jus over the fries. Just a suggestion. read more

We found The Grid on Yelp when we decided to drive over to Lake Tahoe for lunch. Our server was Brooke, (with an 'e'), and she took very good care of us. Although she seemed to be the only server on the deck, other employees were delivering drinks and food to the tables. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger with coleslaw. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. And it was big! I brought half of it home along with the generous serving of coleslaw that was flavorful and had just the right amount of dressing. My hubby ordered the cheesesteak and fries. The meat was good but the cheese missed the mark. Now to the best part...the onion rings. They were so good, crunchy, big portion of onion and not greasy at all. Old school sports bar with good fried standards (onion rings were excellent), crispy chips, salsa and tasty guacamole paired with reasonably priced beers and cocktails. Staff friendly and attentive, let us pace ourselves watching college football for several hours. Split a pizza because a burger would have been too much and it was fine too. This place was everything we needed, and it was truly wonderful. We hadn't eaten at a restaurant in 15 months. My husband has been battling aggressive cancer, went through a bone marrow transplant, and has endured many side effects from treatment. We're still working through lingering issues, but for this trip, his doctors finally gave us approval to eat out again (with outdoor seating). We came up from Folsom to escape the heat and celebrate this milestone. The night before, we tried another restaurant for our very first outing, and the experience left me in tears. Service was slow and not very friendly (though to be fair, the server was clearly in the weeds), and my husband's dinner was inedible--we left hungry and deflated. After that, we canceled all our other reservations and decided to just go with the vibe of a place instead. Thankfully, this restaurant gave us exactly what we needed. We felt comfortable and welcomed, and our server, Conner, was absolutely fantastic. He handled our modification requests with such ease and kindness, which immediately put me at ease after the disappointment the night before. My husband's Philly with onion rings made him genuinely happy--and seeing that made me happy. We both really enjoyed our meals so much. After such a long, difficult road, this meal truly felt like a gift. read more

Nice view of the lake and great price. They open till 2am! We like our salad and burger. Fish and shrimp Tacos are average. No salsa, only 1000 island salad dressing. Parking is easy to find even on a busy weekend. Food takes time to come but they were good. Service is average. If you want to see sports on TV, this is a great place to enjoy your cold beer past 9pm. Come here to look for your boyfriend/husband if he is not at home yet. read more

This place is alright. The burger was very tasty. They claim "The Best Burgers in Tahoe" on their menu. Not sure about that. I went here with three friends, two of which are more "local" and go here occasionally. They said the food is good, but warned the service isn't very good... kind of a vibe for mountain town dining! I'm used to it, coming from a mountain town. As we walked in, we were never greeted by a single employee as we made our way around the bar to the outside seating. We sat around for 5 minutes (most likely more) before we were finally greeted by an employee who seemed surprised we were there. The menus at the table were sticky and dirty. Once our server came, I ordered the Southwest Burger, medium, with coleslaw and a soda. My friends ordered some other burgers and one got chili as well. My burger was actually really good. It was pink inside like a medium burger should be. The coleslaw was pretty good as well. At least they can do two things right. The soda tasted funky- the telltale sign of dirty lines that aren't properly maintained. One of my friends ordered a burger with mayo instead of their "grid sauce". Her burger was served with just mayo on it... no produce. The server admitted it was her fault and brought some produce to the table in a paper tray. The chili was barely warm. My guess is it was microwaved and they pulled it out once it was splattering... but that's the way it is when you microwave chili- it seems like it's going to be hot, but it's not. This place relies HEAVILY on disposable utensils and cups. All of our drinks came in small plastic disposable (but compostable) cups. All the utensils are plastic. The coleslaw came in a paper tray. The chili was the only thing that came in something washable/reusable. The condiments on the table (like the menus) were filthy and sticky. The place is just a mess. Oh- and the restroom had no toilet paper. They never refilled my soda or water, which were empty mid-meal. They never even came by to check how we were doing. It wasn't even busy and there were plenty of open tables. It's obvious they are in need of better management. If the customer facing areas are dirty, imagine what the back of house looks like. I'm not sure why they don't have washable cups and silverware. It just seems insane to me to waste so much money on disposable items. Another sign they are in need of better management. I really wanted to give this place at least 3 stars because the burger WAS so tasty, but I just can't with how dirty it was and how poor the service was. I might go back because the burger WAS so tasty, but they need to work on a lot of things. read more

Came to Tahoe for some epic paddle boarding and my boyfriend and I ate the made in the USA burger without cheese with the side of fries and a pickle every day of the 3 days we were there post paddling. Sat on the patio, enjoyed the weather. Service was quick and simple (as one may expect in a bar) Each time we ordered that burger I swear it was better than the day before! We drove into to Tahoe with a baby in tow and were super tired tonight. After a brief search we were happy to find The Grid was open and has an option to order online; their kitchen is open until 11. Unfortunately, after spending time picking out what we wanted and trying to order take out, it turned out online orders were temporarily down. The site instructed to call in. We tried calling but there was no answer. We waited a little bit and tried again... All for someone to answer and say, "It's Thursday and we're busy; you'll have to walk in." This person then hung up the phone. Needless to say, we will not be walking in. Especially not after going back and seeing other bad service related reviews. Safeway it is. Edit to add - the online orders being unavailable or being busy/understaffed are bummers but I wouldn't give one star over these things since they are sometimes out of restaurant control. The issue here was the way things were handled. If the person who answered the phone said sorry or acknowledged me at all/waited for me to say oh ok, etc... it wouldn't have been that hard for him and it would have changed a lot for my experience. Because he was so rude, I went back and noticed the other reviews about staff and service; then realized that this was more often than not the experience many people had. So again, I won't be subjecting myself to this joint. read more
