Whitecaps Pizza is a great pizza option in North Lake Tahoe. Located in Kings Beach just a short drive from Incline Village, it offers beautiful lake views, a relaxed atmosphere, and some seriously tasty pizza. The pizza is absolutely the reason I keep coming back. My longtime favorite is the Soppressata pizza with hot honey drizzle. The combination of spicy, savory, and sweet is outstanding, and it might be one of the few pizzas that's just as good the next day as leftovers. On my most recent visit, we tried the Vodka Pie on the Detroit-style crust. While I enjoyed the flavors, I discovered that the Detroit-style crust probably isn't for me. Going forward, I'll stick with their more traditional crust options, which I've consistently enjoyed over the years. The beet salad is another standout. It's beautifully presented, and the fresh dill on top adds a unique touch that works surprisingly well. My only suggestion would be to increase the portion of beets a bit, as the amount felt somewhat limited compared to the rest of the dish. The beer selection is extensive, with plenty of options for almost any taste. Wine drinkers will find a handful of choices available by the glass or half bottle, which is appreciated, although none of the wines I've tried have been particularly memorable. The biggest challenge for Whitecaps continues to be the service. While I've had a few positive experiences, I've also had multiple visits where service felt inattentive and unfriendly. It often seems difficult to get someone's attention when you need something, and there have been occasions where details were overlooked, including being served wine in a visibly dirty glass. While it was replaced when brought to their attention, the lack of acknowledgment or apology left something to be desired. That said, I continue to return because the pizza is genuinely that good. Between the lake views, the casual atmosphere, the excellent beer selection, and tasty pizza. Whitecaps remains a great place to gather with friends, share an appetizer and a pizza, and enjoy a cold drink. If the service ever catches up to the quality of the food, this place could easily become a top pizza option in NLT.

We did some kayaking then found this right across Tahoe Beach Company where we rented the kayaks. We loved the 3 appetizers -- Crab Grillet, Roasted Beets, and Anchovy on Toast. We also had two 12" pizza and loved them, too. Super friendly staff.

Two very good things which is why this is not a 1 star review. 1. Kate our server was fantastic 2. The pizza was delicious. Unfortunately the rest of the staff particularly the rude bartender, skinny brunette girl with tattoos, could not have been worse. And our pizza took over an hour to get and was not warm so clearly the staff didn't bother to bring it out on time. See the picture for further comments

What a fun Saturday night dinner vibes. They have plenty of TVs to watch the games. Beer selection was good and the pizza options are so diverse. The staff was kind and attentive. We will definitely be back! We ordered the garlic cheese bread to start and it was perfectly crispy!

I avoid carbs for health reasons. I will break all my rules for Whitecaps. * The pizza: The Italian arrived nuclear hot, fresh, and flawless! * The service: Friendly, efficient, actually cares. * The beer: Extensive tap selection that'll make you stay for round two. * The vibe: You can tell everyone here actually gives a damn! Ha! If you're in Tahoe and you skip this place, you messed up. I'll be back before my blood sugar even recovers.

Very nice staff! The pizza was good, soup and salad were solid too. Great choice of beers as well. The views from the upstairs are incredible. Definitely coming back!

Side pasta salad. I had been actually craving this and it hit the spot. 10/10 and I liked that it wasn't overly saucy

Had a wonderful quick girls trip to Tahoe with my favorite girlfriends and this hit the spot for dinner! Fresh Cesar salad with house made cesar dressing and a fungi pizza absolutely delicious! It even kept well the next day cause we enjoyed it for breakfast! Best pizza spot in Tahoe. It was packed when we went to pick up the food too so I absolutely LOVE that it was just as great to go!

We've been to Whitecaps a few times over the years and always enjoyed it, but after a few years gap, I can say the pizza is better than ever! The crust is exactly what I like--that New York thin but with a little puff and chew in the outer crust. We got regular cheese--perfect for kids--margherita, and some kind of everything with lots of meat. Glad we got takeout because on a Saturday night, the restaurant was mobbed! And yet somehow, even though they were overwhelmed with orders (takeout orders were only walk-in, not taken over the phone), the wait was not long at all!

I ordered take out so no review of service (? Stars) and interior. I ordered the 12" veggie meat combo. They told me it would be ready in a half hour and it was. The crust was crispy and there were a load of veggies and meat. The price was average ($25). Overall the pizza was good (4 stars) and I could have it again. The only issue was that the handicap parking space was the furthest parking space (2 Stars) from the main entrance. I was told it was because in the summer the rear entrance is mainly used. But it's not summertime.

But Julia, our server, was by far the most impressive part of our experience. Aside from her excellent attitude, she was very familiar with the menu, never missed the chance to try and subtly make the upsell and was very organized in the way she both took and delivered our order. My son received his soda from another employee before Julia had even finished taking our drink order, and I saw Julia running hauling ice and doing other things outside the normal server duties, which gave the impression that everyone on the team is looking out for each other. And I'm not entirely sure it had anything to do with me, but after a few minutes of turning behind me to watch the one screen showing the Stanley Cup game, another screen changed to it that was easier for me to see. This place is just what it needs to be, and it does a good job at it. PS- I told Julia, but you guys really should consider making a poutine style version of your slider dish. They choose the cheese melted over the fries and meat, and they can pour the jus over the fries. Just a suggestion.

We love their buffalo wings, burgers & most recently I tried their shrimp tacos which were refreshing. A bit pricey - but it's Tahoe! Definitely recommend supporting this business. The steak was a little too chewy and tough for my taste, but overall good flavor. I loved the wild rice pilaf side! - lemonade and sierra sunburn: both really fresh and seemed like they were made from fresh lemons! the raspberry in the sunburn was great The lighting was warm and the lights were really overhead. The benches were comfortable and not cold to sit on, and overall nice, clean, comfy environment. Service was really friendly and apologized that the drinks menu didn't have dairy-free options for some of the drinks with dairy, overall really attentive and engaging. The service was…read moregreat, the food was amazing, and the live music and lively atmosphere lent to the amazing experience we had. This place is busy for a reason and the wait is worth it. We came in as Walk-ins and despite the fact that there were 17 parties on the reservation list before us, we still were able to be seated and within 25 minutes. Our server Caroline was quick to get our orders in and as first time visitors, she made excellent suggestions to make our night unforgettable. To start, we had two drinks off the menu, the Whiskey Mango Foxtrot and the Spicy Cucumber Mar-tini. Both were excellent, and the marg-tini had an especially good japalepeno kick, which is what I was looking for. We're normally old fashion kind of drinkers but the Whiskey Mango Foxtrot had excellent flavor and was well balanced, with what tasted like a Tajin mango. The real star of the show was the food though. The server wasn't joking when she said the nachos are best shared with two people, and I even opted for the guacamole. The carnitas were buttery tender and the cheese sauce tasted gourmet and incredibly flavorful. I definitely recommend these! They were probably some of the best nachos I've had, and this is coming from someone that's lived in Santa Barbara for 5 years! Next up was the burrito bowl, and the first thing that comes to mind is: generous! We're used to spending $25 an entree in the city and still leaving the restaurant hungry, but not here. The chips were fresh and crispy and truly taste hand made. The birria beef was amazing and tender and flavorful, and the pickled onions and vinegar sauce was the chefs kiss on an altogether amazing dish. We're so glad to have finally made it over here! Bottom line, this restaurant is worth checking out if you're in the area. It's packed with locals every night, but don't let the long wait times dissuade you, they under-promise and over deliver. These are the best drinks and food with Mexican flare this side of the Sierras, and will become a staple during our visits to the area. If you appreciate good food, drinks, and an amazing mountain atmosphere, you owe it to yourself to put Shadyside Lounge on your short list of places to try, I know I did and the only regret I have is not coming here sooner!

Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully put together. We ordered two encharitos, one with the beef birria and one with the chicken. Both were fantastic, but if you're deciding between the two, get the beef birria. The enchilada sauce is absolutely to die for, and the rich, tender beef put it over the top. The carnitas burrito was incredibleeeee. It was packed with the perfect ratio of carnitas, beans, rice, and all the fixings, so every bite had a little bit of everything. The carnitas were cooked perfectly. It was super tender with great flavor and seasoning. I'm already craving it again. We also started with the guacamole, which was fresh, chunky, and generously portioned. For drinks, we had the House Margarita, the Scratch Cadillac, and the Smoking Gun. The margaritas were refreshing and well-balanced, but a little light on the tequila. The Smoking Gun, on the other hand, had a great spirit-to-flavor ratio. It's definitely smoky (as the name suggests), so if you're a mezcal fan, you'll probably love it (like me!). Service was great. Our waitress was young, incredibly sweet, attentive, and happy to accommodate a few special requests. Just be prepared to wait. It's a small restaurant that's clearly popular, and for good reason. The atmosphere is cute and lively, though it does get pretty loud. That didn't bother me at all, but it's worth mentioning if you're looking for a quieter dinner.
