Las Patronas is a literal hole in the wall. It's smack in the middle of a small L-shaped plaza and its tiny storefront can easily be overlooked but please don't sleep on this fantastic Mexican restaurant. The interior is magic with vibrant decor and the menu is full of variety. We plan to return and try new menu items each time but everything we ordered today was delicious and the service was exceptional. This establishment has indoor seating along with carryout options. It's tucked into the joint of an L-shaped plaza and has a shared parking lot. It's at the intersection of Dean and University on the same side as Discount auto parts (on the opposite side of University from the Publix and DMV).

I love this place. I'm here basically every Tuesday and everyone who works here is incredible. They are so nice and attentive always. Their rice is great, queso is good, tacos are a $1 and amazing as well! They make really good skinny margaritas.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming! The menu is pretty straight forward. I thought it was going to be slammed because it was Taco Tuesday, but it wasn't bad. I ordered a taco salad bowl and it was smaller than I expected, but I really didn't need leftovers anyways. The venue is pretty small, but they were able to accommodate our party of 13.

Las Patronas Mexican Restaurant has recently opened in an older and somewhat decrepit shopping plaza on the corner of University Boulevard and Dean Road. Walking in, the place does have an overall pleasant vibe and we were seated pretty quickly. We went over the menu and I ended up going with the birria tacos. I also had a chorizo taco. They also brought us chips and salsa. My birria tacos were pretty good and most of my party thought that the food was decent to good. The menu was a bit weak and the service, sadly, was not the best. In fact, it was pretty abysmal. She was not rude or anything, but she was unattentive and seemed rather distracted. She also made an error and overcharged us and kind of was not letting it go. We had four adults and one child and she was trying to charge us for five adult soft drinks and a children's juice. I tried to tell her that she overcharged us and she was refusing to accept it. She finally relented, but still it should have been easier. All in all, it is a newer restaurant and I hope that they work out the kinks. With the bad service, I will give it four stars.

Taste: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Las Patronas is a hidden gem. The restaurant is small but vibrant, giving you a lively setting to enjoy your meal. Great place to check out if you're looking for some authentic Mexican food and a colorful atmosphere. Everything was delicious and very good portion sizes. Free chips and salsa were a nice touch that we fully enjoyed. Our server was very friendly and got our food out quickly, even though we came during the dinner rush. Overall, great spot to check out and enjoy a tasty meal. Warning: The server did tell us beforehand, but be warned that there is a 3% charge if you decide to pay by card.

The food was absolutely amazing... My husband said these were probably the best fajitas he had ever had very flavorful and not overcooked I had the birria tacos and they were fantastic. Excellent service.

3-3.5/5 Little Mexican restaurant in the old Naroodle spot. Loved the decor inside it gave the cozy vibe of sitting outside a cafe in Mexico. The lady who I presume is the owner was so friendly and nice. We came for Taco Tuesday where they had tacos for $1. It seems like they change the selection and today's was ground beef and pulled chicken. We ordered ground beef tacos, birria tacos ($3) and elote. The ground beef was quite good and tender although the tortilla broke on me twice. The birria was pretty good but could use a bit more sauce. The elote was yummy and creamy ($5.99). The tacos are a bit small but for a $1 it's definitely not a bad price. Tacos are yummy and cheap and the staff is nice. Noticed that we didn't get chips and salsa like other tables but I think it might be because we didn't get entrees. Nothing super special but for that price and the ambiance, would def come again next Taco Tuesday.

Came to this place because we were craving "Mexican" food and read the good reviews. We ordered the following: Enchiladas with pulled beef: Nothing extraordinary. Flautas: Nothing extraordinary. Chorizo Chicken: It was ok. Tasteless rice. We ordered the Michelada after one sip we asked the server we wanted something else so we ordered a sprite. Even though, we had one sip and the michelada was returned; we still were charged for the michelada. When asked the server why we were being charged, she said "you ordered it" (in a not friendly way). This was the first time that we order a drink that we don't like and we still get charged, event though, we had one sip. **Be mindful you'll be charged about $2 fee for using your credit card. We will not be coming back.

We went to this restaurant for Christmas Eve and had dinner. The dishes were good served with plenty of food and the flavor on each were delicious and authentic. I highly recommend this restaurant for their authentic Mexican food, recommend the carnitas tacos and the steak tacos as well, Thank you Patronas for the service and the delicious food, we will come back to visit you even though we live in south Florida.

Located at the corner of University and Dean, this charming spot is tucked away. Walking in there was music playing and I loved the bright colors inside. Our servers were friendly and welcoming. We went on Taco Tuesday where they have 4 options for $1 tacos! I tried both pork options (carnitas and cochinita). Both were amazing! The cochinita was marinated in orange juice (I'm not the biggest fan of orange juice) but the flavors were delicious! I also ordered the house margarita which was purple! I tried the supreme nachos and the guacamole and everything was amazing! I can't wait to go back!

The best Mexican restaurant near UCF. Authentic cheap and AMAZING FOOD. The service was wonderful, our server made sure we had everything we needed. She was so sweet!! We started with the nachos, which were so good, usually I do not like cheese sauce but this was insanely good The barria tacos were out of this work best I have ever had. We also got the street tacos, steak and carnitas bough were insanely good. Seriously the best most affordable Mexican food in the area. The restaurant is also beautifully decorated, it's so cute!! So good I am currently writing the review at the table lol

They have a HUGE menu with many classic dishes and also offer table side guacamole. Their alcoholic beverage options are plentiful, but my recommendation is the Pima colada served in a pineapple, which comes either blended or on the rocks. I also enjoy that they offer a freshly made salsa bar as well as chips and salsa for the table. My only caution is that since this location is relatively close to UCG, it can get very crowded on the weekends, especially holiday weekends.

Service was great - food was fast! My husband and I each got specialty margaritas - we ordered "small" and were glad! They were pretty big. The mediums must be huge. Drinks were delicious and had a ton of fruit inside. My husband loved the mole chicken and the bean dip that comes with the chips was yummy. I, however, should have stuck with the beans. As a vegetarian, I decided to give some love to the soy taco option. It had some good reviews from 4-5 years back and I try to support creative veggie food when I can. I make tacos with a soy food product and they're delicious, so I was hopeful. I should have refrained. First of all, they looked pretty gross. Little pink lumps, not at all what I was expecting. I added cheese and ordered them in soft corn tortillas (they come in lettuce). It was so bland and had an unpleasant texture. But it also had this fake smell to it. I added salsa, thinking it would help. It did not. The pinto beans that came with it were also pretty bland. I barely ate one of the tacos. It's been a long time since I couldn't eat the food I ordered. They should stick to beans and rice. I also got a cheese enchilada from the à la carte menu. That was good! All in all, I might go back if I wanted a fruit salad in my margarita, but I will absolutely not order the soy tacos again!

I noticed that when a manager (I assume) saw the Fortaleza bottle he rushed over to the bartender and had a side conversation about it while looking over at us. When the bill came, I was told that we were being charged for 3 drinks rather than 2 because he gave us each 2oz pours (standard neat, but maybe he didn't know that) and was being "nice" by not charging 4 drinks. Because they were already having side conversation about it, I knew this wasn't a battle I'd win. So I paid, tipped 25% and left, but I was definitely going to leave a review. Just know going here, they will charge whatever they want for drinks and make up rules. I paid $75 for 2 drinks. I won't be back. Adding on due to the reply. The person that replied to my review was not there during my service and is lying. Neither me or the gentleman with me asked for anything other than the tequila neat, we did however have conversation about our visit to the Fortaleza Distillery in Jalisco and how they pride themselves on businesses they sell to not overcharging for their tequila. Fortaleza was NOT listed in your menu, we saw it on the shelf and asked for it neat. As a bartender NEAT is a known pour. Please don't disrespect me by making things up. As I already stated, we simply asked for clarification which is what I added in my review, paid, tipped 25% and left. A reply from the business was unnecessary, this review is for other bar goers.

When we arrived, the restaurant was practically empty, there was no hostess, and we had to wait to be acknowledged. Our server (a Hispanic woman with heavy goth-style makeup--I didn't catch her name) was polite enough, but there were several missed opportunities to improve the experience. The biggest issue was that they were out of multiple menu items we specifically came to try. We had also planned on ordering the duck-themed cocktail that was pictured online, only to be told, "We don't do that anymore." If that's the case, the menu and promotional photos should really be updated. Food: * Chicken Nachos - 3/10: Mostly burnt chips with hard, unmelted cheese. There was barely any chicken, and they lacked flavor. * Watermelon Margarita - 0/10: It was extremely sour. I sent it back and ordered a frozen margarita instead. * Frozen Margarita - Average at best. What was frustrating is that happy hour started about seven minutes later, and our server never mentioned that nearly everything we ordered would have been half-price. A heads-up would have been appreciated. * Street Corn - 6/10: The tableside presentation of cutting it off the cob was nice, but that's really what you're paying for. It could have used much more seasoning, and only two small pieces of corn were served. * Shrimp Tacos - 2/10 * Fish Tacos - 2/10: Both were soggy and lacked flavor. * Spanish Rice - 1/10: Bland and disappointing. Overall, the food was underwhelming, several advertised menu items and drinks weren't available, and the service missed opportunities to enhance the experience. For the prices, I expected much better quality, better communication about happy hour, and a menu that matched what was actually being offered. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.
