La Granja is Spanish for "The Granja". It isn't bad, but it's not great either. That sounds like 3 stars to me. I think this place needs to decide what it wants to be. Since it took over a failed Burger King, I wasn't expecting much, but the food seemed more elevated than the atmosphere. Not that it's a bad thing, but the food looks better than it is which brought it down a notch or two. Some of the dishes seem out of place at a counter service place. The spicy garlic fish with shrimp dish was good, but again, not really much spice and was just kinda there. It wasn't bad, but not great. That's the theme. I did like the condiment bar as they had lots of fixin's which invoked the Roy Rogers days of the Fixin's Bar. It was a good way to add some flavor to the dishes. Who else had Fixin's? Fuddruckers was the best at that with that Jalapeño cheese sauce! Viet-Nomz has all that Thai basil and cilantro. Yum! More places need fixin's! We ordered delivery on another occasion and I will say the ribs were pretty good and pretty meaty. That was probably the best thing there. The empanadas were big, but more shell than filling. I'd call them air biscuits more than an empanada. There are lots of choices from chickens to plantains to soups to steak to fajitas to fried rice to pork to shrimp to fish to calamari to yuca to corn to other stuff as well. It seems like a lot to maintain here which may be why it was all just there. After two tries, I doubt that I'd go back as I think there are better options for the price. The Ceviche alone is WAY overpriced and I doubt they're using Royal Red shrimp for it. However, if I did end up back here, I'd probably try a few more things, or just get ribs again. read more

My family love this place! Is a fast food Peruvian that I can seat there and I know they will go and eat everything on their plate, also very affordable prices. They have some salsa station where you can pick and choose of their salsas. The one that I like is the garlic one is very good. Great fast casual peruvian food! It has a great line of up of food to choose from, bowls, meal, grilled chicken and seafood! The steak bowl I tried was full of flavor and if it werent for the plantains or the sauces it reminded me of a great chinese stir fry. A lot of price points to choose from range from under 10 dollars to up to 20 dollar dishes for an individual meal for one person. There is a sauce bar too! We finally tried La Granja last night and WOW! I really didn't know what to expect since it's in an old Burger King and looks like a fast food chain. I'd say it's more fast casual because it offers way more than typical fast food. It's got a very broad menu of Latin foods from fried fish, burritos, and even ceviche. A little bit for everyone. The service was wonderful. It's counter service but a lovely lady was taking food to the tables and checking on everyone like she was everyone's abuela making sure everyone liked their food and ate enough. She was so sweet. I ordered the lomo saltado and it was a huge serving. I still have tons of leftovers that will probably make two more emails for me easily. My husband got the spicy fish and shrimp that was also very tasty. It's definitely better than fast food. Just served in a fast food store. So good and I highly recommend it! read more

I have been to multiple locations in Broward. This is my favorite restaurant in this Genre. They beat Pollo tropical hands down. The chicken is always fresh, juicy, hot, and plentiful. Their lomo saltado (beef sautee) and pollo saltado (chicken sautee) are unbelievably delicious. I've had it so many times I've lost count. I use the drive-thru, so when I get home I put the fries and rice in a pot, then pour the pollo/lomo on top and stir to evenly distribute the juices. Their ceviche is also really good and perfectly seasoned. I was hesitant to try it first, because I thought it was a fast food chain, but it's actually a restaurant that happens to have a drive-thru window. read more

I've been to this location almost every weekend since this original post and can say the quality of the ceviche seems to be going downhill. Pieces of fish are now almost shredded and the juice (marinade) added to the ceviche is barely there. For that matter the portions are now smaller too but the price remains the same. Service is still fast and ambiance is still good. Their grilled chicken breast continues to not disappoint, nor do the bowls. Looks like I'll need to find another place for some ceviche. read more

La Granja has finally opened on the east side of Orlando!!! I have been a fan of La Granja ever since I stumbled across the Fort Pierce, Florida location while riding my motorcycle home to Orlando from a trip down to south Florida. We have had locations on Semoran Boulevard for awhile and they have since expanded in Orlando, but now they have finally expanded to the east side of the City Beautiful. This particular location of La Granja is located on Alafaya Trail just south of Curry Ford Road. I believe this is the location of the former Burger King. The location is still a fast-casual type of restaurant. If you are unfamiliar with the term fast-casual, it is just a new buzz word to describe a fast food restaurants and it is an attempt to separate themselves from the negative preconceived notion of what a fast food restaurant is. La Granja is a Peruvian style restaurant that specializes in roasted chicken. As I have said, I am a longtime fan of this establishment and absolutely adore their chicken. I'm a firm believer if you give this place a chance, those other fast food chicken places will never be thought of in the same way again. I also have always liked their onion bar. They have onions with jalapeño, onions in a garlic sauce, onions in a picante sauce and pico de gallo. This is a great accompaniment to add to your rice and beans. All in all, I would definitely recommend a visit to this particular La Granja if you are on the east side of O-Town. read more

I've been near this place for years and never stopped. Big mistake! Finally stopped, we had the chicken breast platter and pork platter. It's a sit down but order at the counter and pick up. Quick service, fresh hot and flavorful. Grilled chicken breast was cooked well, nice and moist same for the pork. Black beans had nice flavor and the sauces were nice compliments. The is basically a Central American pollo tropical...the food is way better than pollo tropical! It's fresh, fast and good! The steak, seafood, it's all sooooo good! When this place took over the old Burger King, I was thrilled. While not being familiar with it, anything was better than the BK. When we picked up food at La Granja, turns out that the food was better than anything BK had served in years. La Granja is a fast food place with plenty of options. However, my family and I always get the family meal. We typically will get the whole chicken + 1lb of grilled steak + 1lb of grilled pork. However, we don't eat pork, so they graciously let us add another 1lb of steak to the meal. It comes w/rice, beans, fries, and drinks. Make sure to ask for sauce! We loved white sauce a lot. The green sauce is the one we're not really fans of. Just be aware that the drive thru will take a bit, as you're getting the food nice and fresh! read more

We usually ordered the family meal with the rotisserie chicken, my daughter loves their rice and beans and their grilled chicken. we usually ordered to go but occasionally eat in. Love that they have lots of sauces, I would say the place can get very crowded and in peak times it can take forever to order in and in the drive thru, I give them five starts because of the food alone and value for the money. read more

Welcome to East Orlando, La Granja. We've heard they are all over other parts of Florida, but we had never been to one. We'll probably need a second try, but it was a little rough. The food was a little unevenly cooked (some way overdone, some on the not done enough side) and none of it just grabbed us. It took a long time to order and even longer to get your food. They've moved into an old Burger King and it looked really rough in there. Maybe they hadn't quite gotten all their ducks in a row yet, but there were a lot of things propped up and taped on and sitting around. It didn't give off that "hey eat here!" sort of vibe. It was more like "ok... I guess we're eating this" vibe. Maybe it was just an off day, but it was really messy in there. We took our food to go and it was decent tasting, but nothing really stood out as great. We'll try again some day. read more

We have been anxiously waiting for this location to open. We have heard great things about the quality and taste of the food at La Granja. This location is on South Alafaya Trail, anchored by Bank of America on one side and ABC Fine Wine & Spirits on the other. There is plenty of parking and they also have a drive-thru. This is the 1st week opening and it was packed! The drive-thru had cars wrapped around the building. The doors had to be left open because it was smoky inside, they may need to fix the vents or add fans because with the doors open, flies get inside. We ordered, jalea mixta, which is fried seafood, shrimp, fish, mussels served with fried yucca and topped with pickled onions. We got a chaufa de mariscos, a type of fried rice with seafood. Our order was to go, we waited about 12mins. Took the opportunity to snap some pics. There is a toppings bar with jalapeños, picante (spicy) garlic and regular sauces, fresh and yummy. Our food was good, not great but it was hot and we were hungry. I am sure the fried seafood would've been crispier if we had eaten there. The chunks of fish and shrimp were a bit small but they had good flavor. The rice was a little hard. The flavor was good just could've been cooked longer. I am sure that as time passes the kinks will be worked out and the food will improve. I will definitely be back. It's great to have more Latin/Hispanic options in my area is always great. read more

Incredibly delicious on a tight budget! The lunch special came with a chicken thigh and wing as well as rice and beans, and it was 7.95! With drink and a tip, $13! Super delicious, especially with the hot sauce. Some of the best black beans I've gotten from a restaurant. Definitely don't sleep on this place. read more

Highly recommend. Pretty excited to be getting La Granja close to our home in Sanford. I ordered the steak bowl (9.99) and was amazing (Lunch special). Onions, peppers, corn, rice and steak. Delicious. They provide a number of additional toppings if you like; hot sauce, curry sauce, tomatoes, onions, etc. The location is right across from UCF. Parking lot is a mess in this location. Since it's so busy, they were out of certain sodas. If you can't figure out what to order, just get one of the chicken platters, it's their specialty. I love the food here. The staff is very friendly and nice. I love that they have drive thru and they stay open late. I especially like being able to call and place my order after a long shift. It makes my day way better after a difficult day at work. I look forward to trying their various options definitely my go to place on a weekly basis for consistently great food! Parking is easy. Prices are fairly standard. I'm sorry I was starving so I ate without taking pics of the food. I keep telling myself to take them, but then I see my food and just start eating. I've read the other reviews and I think it's a question of expectations, if you expect a gourmet, trendy meal that's overpriced, then no just head to Domu. But if you want to get good food, that tastes great, is a decent quantity for a fair price, that doesn't take that long + that's better than McDonald's or some fast food joint, then this is the place. read more

I didn't get any photos of the food but....we ordered the 1/2 chicken with rice and beans, 1/2 grilled steak with 2 side orders as well as some plantains on the side. First I'd like to say they forgot to put my sauces so for that case I'm giving them 4 stars. :( the food though !! Delicious and very good flavor not to salty and not to blah. I went to restaurant thinking their food was going to be good. To my surprise it was the worse so called Spanish food I had and was very expensive for the amount of food served to take out. I asked for bbq ribs and beans. The portion of rice was like two large spoonful and rice cold and the black beans were only warm and I paid for beans over $3.50 because did not have fries. I threw it out because it was tasteless. Ribs were the worse I ever had. If I can give a zero I would. I would not recommend this place. I went through the drive through to order. read more

The drive thru has always been long and the restaurant packed so I knew there was something to it! I had no idea what to get so it took me a while. The cashier spoke little English but described everything to me. So many choices. I settled on the Chicken Super Bowl and it was great! For $12 I thought it was a bit high until I saw the size. Easily got 2 meals out of it. The flavor was real good with rice, beans, onions, peppers, chicken, and platanos maduros. I will definately get it again. Expect to pay restaurant prices, not fast food as meals range from $12 to $22. Portions are large. Sandwiches (burgers, chicken) are about $9. Their sauces range from garlic to habanero. I enjoyed every sauce with my meal, however, the seafood fried rice felt more like a paella than fried rice. Although the flavor was really good, the mussels were not cooked all the way and for the price..... I would've loved for the 2-3 mussels to be cooked all the way. TERRIBLE customer service. I was the only customer in line and waited at the drive thru for over 4 minutes and no one greeted me. I then pulled up to window where the "manager" Sari and other employees were on their phones, not busy at all. To make matters worse, I was told I couldn't get the lunch special because it was now "4:03" even though I was in line well before 4pm. I then left and went to Taino's down the road.
