We decided to try Tacos Miguey after noticing it had recently opened close to home, and my daughter treated us to a quick dinner. Unfortunately, it ended up being a very disappointing experience. When we walked in, I was surprised that ordering is done entirely through a kiosk. That wasn't a problem, but everything after that went downhill. First, the prices are hard to justify. They charge for everything even a quarter of a lime!!! A medium fountain drink was about $4, served without a lid and with an oversized straw. I'm not even sure if refills are offered. We also paid nearly $5 for chips and salsa, only to receive a basket that wasn't even half full. The salsa looked more like marinara sauce than traditional Mexican salsa. It was sweet instead of fresh and savory, contained corn, and lacked the fresh cilantro and onions you'd typically expect. It simply didn't taste fresh, and the only flavor we could get out of it was after adding salt. The side of rice and beans was equally disappointing. The rice tasted like instant packaged rice with little to no seasoning. The beans, even topped with cotija cheese, were bland and honestly not edible. When our tacos arrived, the tortillas were soggy, and the meat itself had almost no flavor. The only thing on the table that stood out was the creamy cilantro garlic sauce, and that's mainly because it was very salty. As a fellow Latina, I know what flavorful Mexican food tastes like, and this simply wasn't it. Authentic or not, good Mexican-inspired food should still be seasoned and full of flavor. Sadly, every bite was bland and forgettable. The restaurant itself is very small, with only a handful of tables, and it was uncomfortably warm inside. In the end, we spent around $40 and left most of our food on the table because it simply wasn't worth eating. I really wanted to like this place since it's so close to home, but unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. I won't be returning, and based on my experience, I can't recommend it. read more

The food was ok. The salsa verde is very good and I couldn't eat the taco without it. If you order cheese, it's cooked onto the tortilla as a layer so it's like fried cheese layered on the taco which I didn't really like. My son didn't like that either. The tacos were ok though and the flautas were ok too. We may try something different next time if we come back. The meat was dry but I think it was possibly just this time. I'm very picky (so is my son) when it comes to tacos. Gave 4 stars because the service is very good. I had good interactions and even overheard some situations where they were going to take a while and they communicated stuff to their customers very well. I love when people know how to communicate. Their service is 5 stars for sure. The place is small and in a plaza that I wouldn't do anything else in so I'm not too sure if I'd come back but I'm glad I tried it. Insanely disappointing. Rice is mushy and under seasoned, burritos 80% beans no seasoning, guac is just avocado again no salt, carnitas were dry and over cooked. I couldn't remember what it reminded me of but I came to me mid bite. It tastes like navy boat food on taco Tuesday lol. There was no kick to the salsa, which is crazy for Mexican food. I am so stoked! Tacos My Guey just opened a restaurant in Winter Park 2 minutes away from my house, yayyyy! It is in a small plaza right on Howell Branch Rd right by Donut King. I came in and was immediately greeted. I approached one of the 2 kiosks to start placing my To-go order and was offered assistance by the staff. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The ambiance is very relaxed and there is good salsa music playing. I waited about 10 minutes for my order to be ready. The food was yummy. I passed this spot on Howell Branch one afternoon and vowed to come back to check it out. It's a fairly small place with kiosk ordering and just enough 4 seater tables to eat comfortably. The food came out quickly for my party of 6. I ordered the nachos because they were on special for 6,99. I was worried that it would not be enough food to fill me up, but boy was I wrong. They layer those toppings in there so no chip is left behind. I couldn't even finish the tray. I also ordered a side of esquites and it had just the right balance if tangy-creamy-salty that we all love in elote. My dinner compadres ordered quesadillas and tacos. I had seen advertisements online for this place and finally was next to one so I had to give it a try. First off, they have this incredible creamy garlic sauce that has a garlic and cilantro flavor. It goes perfectly on everything. They're horchata is some of the best I have ever had. It doesn't have too much of a cinnamon flavor and isn't overly sweet. Just a really nice blend. The chicken and steak tacos had quite a lot of meat in it. I wasn't too impressed with the esquitas So I would probably skip that one next time. It tasted like canned corn which I'm not a big fan of. You order from the kiosk so the interaction with the employees is limited. They do bring it to your table if you eat there. At the end of our meal I ended up going up to the employee and asking them what was in the garlic sauce because I was so impressed. I also complimented them on the horchata mix. This location isn't very big but there's a few tables inside so as long as it's not too busy you should be able to eat there. Overall I would definitely go back here again and you should try it out too. Just make sure you get the creamy garlic sauce because it is out of this world. read more

They had really good flavors and I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried here. I ordered the flouta and also tried the quesadilla and horchata. The horchata was amazing, their garlic sauce was incredible and my flouta was crunchy and delicious too. The service was friendly and they brought our food out to us quickly. Oh my goodness am I glad this location has opened in Winter Park. I had never tried this chain and I am in LOVE with the chicken nachos. If you get them at Happy Hour they are only $5 and SO WORTH IT! We had to crack open an additional bag of tortilla chips when we got home as they are SO generous in the toppings. I will be coming back over and over again to try new menu items but so far I dont know how they are going to beat those nachos. The service here is so friendly and happy. Got dinner from this spot last night. I picked up my order but the inside of the restaurant was very clean and modern. I had been seeing the opening soon signs so when I saw it was opened I had to try it. I got the birria trio with the three birria tacos and it was excellent. Crispy, cheesy tortillas filled with marinated flavorful beef birria. The beef inside was also super cheesy. I got super full and satisfied from it. My husband got a burrito and enjoyed it as well. His only comment was it could've been a bit more flavorful but he still really enjoyed it and told me got full from it. Prices were reasonable as well. We will be back since it is so close to our house and has yummy food. Can't wait to try other menu items. read more

The one thing that I would keep in mind is that the tacos are very small, so I would recommend to order at least 3. Very fresh ingredients and ordering system is tablet based, so it's very easy to order and receive food quickly. I'm sure I will be back! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Tacos My Guey (3736 Howell Branch Rd, Aloma, FL 32792) and would not return. After we ordered, our table was still dirty and I had to wipe it myself. Our food arrived in pieces, and drinks were not delivered first. Halfway through the meal, I was still waiting for my drink when they informed me the soda machine was broken. When I requested a refund, the server offered alternative beverages, but they didn't have anything I wanted. He said he would handle it, but it took over 10 minutes for him to return, and then he claimed the drink was "free" because it came with a combo -- which is misleading since we paid for it as part of the combo. The burrito was also disappointing -- soggy and missing sour cream despite being listed on the menu. Overall, poor service, poor communication, and underwhelming food.
