Upon learning that all Bahama Breeze locations will eventually be phased out this year, the news didn't surprise me. I had not been to one in years and I couldn't conjure up any must-have menu items. I probably was a fan when they first opened, delighting in the island food and vibe, but over time didn't go much. My recent visit, however, was enlightening. I was lured there by $2.22 margaritas on National Margarita Day and music bingo. Sitting outside on the patio was nice, with the exception of a tattered booth cushion at our table. Service was efficient and friendly. My Coconut Shrimp Tacos with rice and beans were really tasty. Those house margaritas are no joke, as well. Definitely feeling fine after a few of those. I plan to return before Bahama Breeze officially bids farewell. Sounds like it could be a couple more months. read more

Love this restaurant!!! The vibe is always good and the food is always fantastic. We don't live close to any Bahama Breeze locations so when we are near, we always go. They've recently changed the jerk shrimp pineapple bowl to the jerk chicken instead. It's still yummy but I did prefer the shrimp. We also got the jerk shrimp appetizer, which is probably the best thing on the entire menu. We were there on a super busy night so the food was slow in coming but service was still excellent and friendly. Bathrooms were clean but maybe a bit small for a restaurant of that size (especially with all of the tasty alcoholic beverages they offer). read more

Bahama Breeze has always been one of my favorite spots. My past visit was a little disappointing. The beef empanadas are always on point. Those are my favorite!!! My firecracker shrimp was just ok this time. They tasted alittle rubbery. I ordered a Moscato Sangria like I have done many times. This time my drink tasted like water. I mentioned it to my waitress and she advised its topped off with Sprite. The Sprite had to be flat or something because the drink was not great. She didnt offer to replace it so I ordered another one. It was the same. Yes I paid for 2 bad drinks!! I will be sure to pass on that next time. Bahama Breeze is always a good vibe to go and catch up with friends. Also who doesn't love their happy hour with half price appetizers!! Its a shame they are closing soon. Recently stopped by this Bahama Breeze location for their late night happy hour (10pm-close) and boy... it did not disappoint! I haven't been to this location for years but it looked exactly as I remembered. When we first walked in we were greeted and seated almost immediately out in the patio per our request. Since it was a late night weekday, it was nice and quiet. The patio seating was quite spacious and our server was very attentive! For late night happy hour we took advantage of the discounted drinks and the half priced appetizers! For drinks I got the mojito cubano. The mojito was nice and refreshing but was just a tad bit on the sweeter side for my taste. For food we opted for the beef empanadas, coconut shrimp, yucca cheese sticks, and the jerk chicken wings. I thoroughly enjoyed every single one those appetizers! The standouts for me definitely had to be the infamous coconut shrimp and the jerk chicken... both were out of this world. Overall, I have to say that the late night happy hour is such a great deal! With the amount of food that we ordered I thought that it was such a good bang for your buck. Loved the empanadas! I'll start there! They came out hot and fresh! I love the salsa and cream based dips! The salsa is sweet and the cream dip is a nice compliment to the heat of the empanada. I ordered the Jamaican stuffed plantain bowl. The flavor was overshadowed by the amount of salt used. It was very salty! My painkiller was delicious but lacked any actual liquor... didn't appreciate that at all especially when you pay for the liquor. The restaurant has seating inside and outside. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. The service was good. We enjoyed the scenery and the seating as we sat in the booth. It was spacious, colorful and comfortable. Great time at Bahama Breeze this last Wednesday evening. We stopped into the bar for Happy Hour before an event we had in the area. The bartender was very nice and personable, really had great service! Happy hour was from 5-6 and he even honored the pricing a few minutes after when we wanted a second drink! Apps are half price during HH and the drinks are discounted . I had the mule which was delicious! Made very well. For apps we did the firecracker shrimp and the spinach dip. Both were great! For dinner we did the half portion of the Jerk Chicken pasta. That as fabulous! Really liked the flavor. It did take a while to come out though, longer than it should have, We had to run, bartender brought us boxes right away. Although I was able to finish mine quickly!! Used to love Bahama Breeze, but like all chain restaurants that start out good, its food quality has definitely gone down. I keep trying new things thinking I'm just ordering the wrong things, but keep being disappointed. The paella was less than stellar last time and this time I had the new snapper menu item. It was pretty to look at, but the fish itself was only half edible. The under part was all dark fishy tasting meat I could not eat. The veggies and sauce were good. The only consistently good items are the jerk chicken pasta, plantain bowl, the salmon, and the beef empanadas. The red wine tasted like the bottles had been open for a while, barely drinkable. The ultimate pina colada is still excellent. The outside patio dining was nice when the weather is cooler. Our server, Savannah, was very friendly and pleasant, but I think she was over worked. We have been frequenting the Bahama Breeze Restaurant in Altamonte Springs for many years. The ambience is so relaxing and has that true island atmosphere. The food is always consistently wonderful. The presentation of the food is always consistently pleasing. Their prices are very reasonable. The service is consistently excellent; friendly, and well-timed. The only con I have is, this is an island atmosphere; therefore Mexican and country music here needs to stop! If I want to hear Mexican music, I'll dine at a Mexican restaurant. I had a margarita flight (the dragon berry was my fav but all were great), shared empanadas, and for dinner I had the jerk chicken and my mom had the shrimp pineapple bowl. The empanadas were good but please note they had curry in them. We're not huge curry fans but the empanadas went so well with the pineapple salsa. I really enjoyed the Jamaican jerk chicken- it was a tad spicy! The beans were good, but the rice was a little dry. My waiter was kind enough to sub tostones which were great! Mom loved everything about the shrimp pineapple bowl! Also it was really pretty. We had the best server and I feel terrible I failed to remember his name. I didn't try any drinks this time (even though the drink menu was super tempting), but I'm already planning to come back and change that. For food, I ordered the black bean tacos and customized them to be vegan by removing the slaw and swapping in white rice. Super satisfying and flavorful! What really made the experience even better was our waitress, she was incredibly attentive, made sure our drinks stayed full, and went above and beyond to ensure my order stayed vegan. Truly top-notch service. The restaurant itself was very clean, with a bright, vibrant atmosphere that made the meal even more enjoyable. Only reason why I give this location receives 4 stars is because one of my co workers food had mushrooms and broccoli and she specifically said for them to be removed, when her plate came out the pasta still had the vegetables inside of it, she had to wait for her food while we all had our plates. I ordered the salmon with yellow rice and green beans. The green beans and salmon were delicious except the rice tasted a little old and looked old like it wasn't fresh. A friend and I went here for lunch on a Sunday. We chose to sit outside since it was so beautiful out. We sat at one of the umbrella covered tables. There is a large amount of outdoor seating and a fire pit to sit around out front too! The tropical music really set the atmosphere. Our service was great and speedy. I enjoyed 2 of the Bruno's Smash Hits which were advertised on the featured items menu. It had a decent amount of bourbon and so yummy! Conch fritters were our appetizer. They were served with a delicious citrus sauce that paired nicely. I ordered the jerk chicken pineapple bowl. I love that it is served in half a pineapple. Great flavor and a good portion of food. Went on a Saturday night with my friend. Since we came around 9PM, there was not much of a crowd and seated immediately inside. Our waiter took our drink order first, which I choose the regular Mojito (10 dollars). It was a nicely strong drink with sugarcane to provide a bit of sweetness. For dinner, I decided to go light and choose the half portion of cilantro chicken. There was a good piece of grilled chicken that was a bit juicy as well. For some reason, it the chicken tasted a bit sweet, which could have been from the grill. Instead of mashed potatoes, I chose the broccoli instead. It came with cheese on top, which gave a nice flavor. Unfortunately, the cilantro cream sauce was missing, but came after I mentioned it. It went well with the chicken. There was still enough food to take home, so I asked a togo box, which was promptly given. I was able to enjoy the leftovers the next day. The service was prompt and friendly. With the exception of the missing cilantro sauce, everything else was in order. The building was a bit small for Bahama Breeze, and didn't have much entertainment other than the reggae/rap music playing in the background. There was a small tablet in each table to order drinks and other items, as well to pay your bill. I think that tablet had games, but you may have to pay to play them. There is outdoor seating, but I don't think many took advantage due to the rain. While this branch isn't as nice as the original Sand Lake, it still provides good food and service. If there was live entertainment during the weekends, it would have been much better. However, I would visit again if I was in the Waterford area craving for Bahama Breeze. read more

Ciarra is the best waitress/bartender ever on this planet. Tamar is running for an easy second place but he's right on her heels for the first place. When you have service that is 100% on top of it, funny and helpful all in one... why ask for anyone else. However.. the others I've encountered have all been helpful and pleasant from walking in the door till I've left. No one here has ever not made the cut.. love them all. The food. Well... If you look at my photos you'll see I am partial to the Jamaican Whole wings on an almost obsessive level. However the chicken toastones, empanadas, paella, salmon, etc are all just amazing. I ordered the full portion and had about 2/3 of the meal put in a to go box. I was able to eat 3 meals with this portion. My husband had the Jamaican Stuffed Plantain bowl, the small bite I was amazing. We started with the Yucca Cheese Sticks which were tasty but not something I would order on a regular basis. Now the Pineapple Cheesecake Empanadas I would eat everyday, they were delicious and unique. I came here last night. The plates were very tasty and well made. It also made a great pairing together. The tostones were nice and hot, the salsa, chicken, and cheese topped it perfectly. The chicken on both dish's were nice and tender. The spice level of the habanero wings hit the spot as it was spicy but not enough where it can't be eaten. I was pleased with food and service at this location. We are very disappointed in our visit this evening. This is by far the worst service we've experienced in any restaurant in a long time. It took approximately 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us once we were seated. The server then took our drink and entree order. I had to get up and go seek out our drinks after another 15 minutes. They were sitting at the bar and clearly had been sitting there for some time because the ice was melted and there was condensation on each glass. The server seemed annoyed I was looking for them. Then the table across from us...who arrived AND ordered after us received their food before we did. Someone must have sensed our frustration because the manager, Jessica, came out to let us know our food was being plated and apologized for the delay. Our food was luke warm at best. We had to flag the server down for refills and sauces. There was a table that our server was clearly familiar with the guests because she went straight to them each time she came out the patio door. We are a party of 2 who ordered a drink (each) and an entree (each). No appetizers. No desserts. No water. Just drink and entrees. This was a very disappointing experience. read more
