This is a fun food truck pod! As the event is located on the back of Oviedo Marketplace, by Chamberlains and the Regal theaters, there was plenty of parking near the trucks. Bring your own tables, chairs, tailgating canopies or umbrellas to shade from the sun- as there is no shade. People had their areas set up near their cars, much like tailgating at a football game. The event was well attended, very crowded after the rain stopped. Saw singles, families, large groups and people of all ages. While most trucks still are cash only, I'm seeing more of the iPad credit card readers with the trucks. Still always best to show up with cash. Gastro Truck, Big Wheel, Yum Yum, Melissa's chicken and waffles, The Batter Bowl, Treehouse truck, Crooked spoon, Korean Taco Truck, Crepe lady, C&S Brisket, Firehouse BBQ, Gator BBQ, Traveling Gourmet, Mama's soul food, CK Jerk Shack Gourmet Island BBQ,Tastebuds-Catering and more were there. Notable missing: Winter Park Fish Co., Monsta Lobsta There were about 15-20 food trucks in attendance, all of the most popular trucks were out in force and a few that were new to me were out. Mama's soul food truck would be one of those trucks. Great menu, we swung by for the dessert of 3 tier red velvet cake, but there was everything from Fried chicken, ribs, fried catfish, you name it. (Menu pic posted). The service was super friendly and the food portions coming out were HUGE and a great deal for the prices charged. My red velvet cake was a nice slice, cake was moist and cooked well. The Cream cheese frosting was a sweeter cream cheese, a bit sweet for my taste, but the white chocolate chips studded on the frosting was a yummy touch. The Batter Bowl- We tried the goat cheese Triple Chocolate Ghirardelli brownie. The brownie was nice and moist, more cake-like and much less chocolatey than I was expecting. The goat cheese based mixture was swirled on top like a cheesecake layer and tasted like cream cheese- it was missing a goaty tang but was tasty. For those that aren't fans of goat cheese, don't be afraid to try this. Good price for $2.50. Big Wheel was offering fried artichokes, which were good and not at all greasy. However, they would be much tastier if the whole artichoke hearts were sliced in half so the inside benefited from the Parmesan cheese, truffle oil and chili flakes they were tossed in. When you bit into the whole fried artichoke heart, the primary taste was steamed canned artichoke hearts. Hubby enjoyed the chicken skewer, which was hoisin flavored last night. Very tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. C&S brisket truck- Hubby went for the Brisket sandwich and said the Brisket was very tender but lacked flavor, this was the general consensus from the group that tried the large sandwich. Nice deal, $8 for a whole sandwich served on Texas toast or $6 for a half. The Rachel and Reubens coming out where huge and getting raves from those around. Hubby was bummed he didn't go that direction and will check them out next time. I didn't get the name of the Latin food truck we stopped at, friends ordered fried plantains (tostones) topped with Ropa Vieja (Braised shredded beef) and raved about the flavors.....so much so that they went back for a second order. They also ordered the shrimp quesadilla that they said was good and some Venezuelan cheese sticks, which I tried. The cheese sticks started with a mild, white cheese similar to provolone and had whole wheat dough wrapped around the cheese. It was fried and served with a creamy cilantro sauce on the side. The cheese sticks were not at all greasy, quite yummy and I would order again. Longest lines: Yum Yum cupcake truck, Melissa's chicken and waffles, Crooked Spoon, Treehouse truck and Crepe Lady. Longest wait would probably go to Melissa's Chicken and waffles- my friends stood in the Melissa's chicken and waffle truck for 45+ minutes and the end of the line was still 3 trucks down when we left. They were cranking, but should look into getting another double sided waffle maker going for large events. Yum Yum opened a second window and started cranking people through quickly, so fear not if you see a long line. :) Our group had hoped Monsta Lobsta would be there, when I posted a question on their FB page, they were out of town for the weekend. Hopefully, they will be at the next Oviedo Bazaar. This was a fun event that we'll be back for!

There were two trucks that always has a line anywhere else but had the shortest non existent line here, Pupusas and Arepas El Cacao. Sad. Too ethnic for the delicate palates of the fine people from Oviedo? There were no directional signs neither restrooms for the event. But the music was blasting away. The music at Lake Lilly tends to be a little too loud and it is hard to communicate with the food truck vendors. However, the noise level here was okay. Maybe it was the wide open parking lot. There was ample room between trucks and trash cans were easily identifiable. Nice event, nice crowd, good location.

My wife is a pescetarian and her choices are generally pretty limited at most of the food trucks. Not a worry here - a fair selection of really great vegetable based options. The line here was shorter than a lot of other trucks, but those other people were missing out on some really great food. We tried the Shrimp Ceviche, Portabello Sandwich and the Cuban. The sandwiches were a little smaller in size than we had expected, but they were also more filling than we had expected, so I guess it all works out. My wife and I both loved our sandwiches, though I would have liked a few more pickles on my Cuban. The shrimp ceviche was good, but the shrimps were overcooked and a little rubbery. Service here was friendly and seemed to be a lot quicker than most of the other trucks. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food and for the quality you receive.

There's free parking across the street but it's a bit of a walk and we thought it was worth paying to save us from more walking in the heat. We do like supporting local shops/owners so for that, I think it's worth it. I also liked that it was clean, they had lots of tables with umbrellas and seating. Also there were a lot of enclosed trash cans which I appreciated so it didn't smell bad and there was always one close by to throw trash away. Drinks: 4 stars $10-15 lemonade, peach lemonade, watermelon lemonade Multiple trucks were selling lemonade which was great for how hot it was. I'm glad the cups were big because they are kind of pricey. Chicho's Fusion Cuisine: 4 stars $20, #2 Fried Egg Smash Burger My friend said it was good and he'd get it again Brazilian Grill: 4 stars $24 Picanha plate I didn't plan on getting Brazilian food when we went. But when we were walking around this guy gave samples and the steak tasted great. Even after looking at a few more aisles I couldn't stop thinking about the steak so went back and ordered it. Advice for surrounding trucks to give out samples! There were quite a few similar trucks but this was the only one of this cuisine that was busy. I think it could have used a salsa or some sort of sauce on the side and I wish the salad had tomato but aside from that it was still delicious and I'd order it again. Dubai chocolate strawberries: 5 stars $13, this was the best thing we got, worth the price and super yummy. If you don't like pistachio the chocolate and strawberries would also still be fire Brappin Crabs: 1 stars... We reallllllyyyyy wanted to like this place. We literally went looking through all the food trucks for this specific food item. First off, 2 eggrolls and fries were $30! It would be one thing if they were big but they weren't and they had no business being called chicken alfredo because it tasted NOTHING like chicken alfredo. It tasted like curry with Indian or Mediterranean seasoning on it. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what you would expect. Thinking about whether or not we want to give their boil a try or if we just need to move on.

They have bench seats and independent chairs. They do not have outdoor tables. About the service... long wait all around. I ordered a Coke Zero, they brought a can with a straw- I would say very reminiscent of what you would get in a kiosk in Puerto Rico, but other tables got a cup and ice. Maybe it's upon request? My husband ordered Perrier, or soda water, but they don't have any. It could be that they only serve canned drinks, not from a machine. So he got water, refills come very rarely. So far trickling slow. Every time I decide to do a "realtime review", something happens that it makes the service very slow. They play Latin music in the background. Food's here. Hubby ordered the pinchos with tostones one thing he noticed right away is that the pinchos aren't grilled. I ordered a pork pincho with mofongo and I have to agree, these are deep fried (carne frita). The tostones were good, he said. My pincho is very fatty and the flavor is ok, not seasoned as I would expect. The mofongo is on point, with crispy bits of pork rinds. The bill reflects a 4% increase if you use a credit card, regardless of your party size. I might come back and try some other items, though. Better luck next time.
